I give a minus 6 stars for Mission Villas of Silver Lake California (being kind). I do not like being called a moron or that I am stupid because I asked for a refund of the $100.00 cash I gave at check in. The person stated that the $100.00 cash was not a deposit (after we checked out). Then it must be he is a nice guy and I am giving him a night on the town. Very strange that the Wi-Fi was not working and he could not take credit cards only cash??? We have some concerns about our stay. (1) On the second night we were being bit by something in the master bed, had to move to guest bedroom. Arriving at home we took multi-steps to make sure the insects weren’t carried to our home. (we do not have any pets or animals at our home) (2) The repairs to the resort were done very cheaply or not at all. (3) Several lights not working and one broken above the bath in the guest bathroom (fire issues and worse). (4) One-ply toilet paper an experience you really do not wish to experience again. (5) The sinks smelled and did not drain well. (6) No Wi-Fi in the resort and 5G service was a hit and mostly miss. (7) You can not get anyone at the phone number and maid server provided no help.  (8) Cheap very Cheap. Do not stay there.

I suggest if you really want to visit Helendale, California. Drive there, sleep in your car and park next to the railroad track, would be a whole lot better experience. We left early.

Cheap,  under maintenance, careless of your feeling

The Inn itself (located right on the 27 hole golf course) has been closed since Covid and not scheduled to open any time soon. A number over ownership changes and no communications has the locals confused as to what the plans are.Although the golf course itself, was open and operating fine. We ended up staying in the Mission Villas, not recommended. There is a community card required in order to play golf or use the community centre (swim, tennis, pickle ball). Only golf was open due to cold weather. Golf course was in great shape, green fees very low. Top of the line clubhouse and Proshop. Meals were exceptional with large servings and low prices. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Other than our accommodations, Helendale is a very unique place to visit. There are two man made lakes with bars and restaurants overlooking this Oasis in the middle of nowhere. Ample grocery store, coffee shops, pizza joints and laundry as well as post office and dollar store. Half hour drive to Costco (Victorville) , and outlet mall in Barstow (40 minutes away).

Global Vacation Club should be ashamed. This place is a dump. Worse than terrible! Check in was a nightmare and the place was deserted. Rusty water, half the lights out in bathroom, no internet, no phone, no tv, no one working reception to help trouble shoot. Pool closed and chained. No other amenities available for Inn guests. Restaurant wouldn't even give us their WiFi password. Felt very unsafe. Stayed 2 nights until other arrangements could be made. Dirty and gross. Do NOT stay here!

Global Discovery Vacation Club Getawy

Had adjoining rooms. Maybe 4 rats-GROSS, this is not good especially for our kids. Carpets are old & stained. Furniture is outdated. Mattresses had stains going down the sides(nasty). Bugs in bathtub.

They have RATS!

This place was the worsted we ever stayed at. It’s dirty inside & Out, very spooky, run down, lobby is always dark & staff hardly there,We left on the 3rd day, we did not feel safe!!  Town seems abandoned

VERY EERIE AND RUN DOWN RESORT

Our room was large and clean, with a tiny kitchen area; but there were absolutely no amenities.  The TV worked on the internet, but there was no internet.  We couldn't even get local channels.  The pool was closed all week, and every day they said it was going to open.  We were there in July!!  The BarBQ grills were in a locked area that we could not access.  Even if we could, there was no propane and the grills were filthy and covered in spider webs. Disgusting. The front desk wasn't manned after 2:00, and check-in is 4:00!!! Apparently, this is under new management and they must know NOTHING about running a hotel.

I knew that this location was at least 1 1/2 hours from LA.  It also is 30 minutes away from any other city.  There is a store and a few restaurants near the community; but we couldn't even get served breakfast in their tiny restaurant in Silver Lake.  The Silver Lake Inn that is connected to the hotel had excellent food and they are no longer associated with the hotel. I can see why!  Everyone was complaining.

This was booked as a free 7-day stay at a condo thru a promotion from Blue Green and gocrv.com.  Someone should tell Blue-Green and CRV to take this off their list.

Don't waste your money

You are required to stay a week because they only do check in and check out on Fridays when the office is open. The prices are too high for the accommodations unless you are an RCI member. The studio room was sufficient and had a kitchenette with a small (bigger than mini) fridge, a microwave, a sink, counter, and a two burner stove. There were non-working light bulbs in the hallway and the bathroom. We told them during check in time about the light bulbs, but they were not replaced. 

Silver Lakes Inn is a quiet place to stay with limited office hours and maintenance hours.

Horrible stay! Very limited check in or out times. The WiFi in room never was accessible, the tv had Roku with NO internet connection, so NO tv at all. Went to get ice, and the ice dispenser did not work. The air conditioning unit did work and I made FULL use of it!! 
All of us staying here had the same problems, and were very disappointed!!


Attend Memorial 

We booked this resort for 3 weeks.  We could not check in on our arrival date because the front desk was CLOSED!  Hours posted said 9 - 2 Monday thru Thursday BUT CHECK-IN IS 4:30; 9 - 5 Friday & Saturday.  We were there on Wednesday.  How is that supposed to happen?  In addition, while we were there, the Front Desk was closed ALL DAY on Mondays & Wednesdays!  There is a phone number but it just goes into voicemail.  The ice machine was out for the last 2 weeks we were there, but HEY, the refrigerator froze everything!  Since we traveled via RCI, the value was good for what we got.  But, we had a 1-bedroom suite and it was quite roomy, and there were ducks around the lagoon that would come right up to our patio.  But I won't stay here again, the closest 'big' city is 30 minutes away.


Check In Time Limited!

My room was very outdated, musty smelling, and scant amenities. No coffee  maker in the room, guests must rely on one coffee pot in the lobby of which the desk receptionist is to make in the morning, But they do not show up until they want to which is after 9:00 am, and when we asked if we could have coffee they didn't want to make a pot because they said "nobody drinks it". 
By morning my husband's back was in pain from the terrible mattress that had a large sunken area. They allowed us to switch rooms. This room smelt better but the sink had NO handles!  There was a sink next to the toilet that did work.  I placed my food in the refrigerator  only to find later that day that it had frozen my food and ruined my salad and other fresh produce.
Staff is hard to find. I stayed there 2 days and I saw one guy at the counter in the afternoon. This is a miserable place to stay. The only positive thing I could say is the view out the dirty windows is great --a  golf course and pond!
