My friend and I had been staying elsewhere on our annual trips to Hermann but it was time for a change.  As usual, TripAdvisor reviews were a reliable source of information in finding a new B&B.

Larry and Linda were great hosts- good knowledge of the surrounding area, available for a pleasant conversation, helpful when help was needed.  Breakfasts were delicious although if you're a light eater you may want to ask for half-portions, which we plan to do on our next visit.  Offerings over 3 mornings included fresh fruit, a sausage casserole, French toast with custard filling, scrambled eggs, local sausage and biscuits with a nice low-sugar jam.  

The location is QUIET- a beautiful natural setting with a wide variety of plantings and two outdoor porches.  It's on top of a hill, far enough away from town that there's no noise and little traffic.  It's 3 miles to the Katy Trail head.  

There are two very comfortable lounge/living rooms, one where coffee is available starting at 7 AM.  There's also a TV.  

Our room was large and comfortable- the Blue Room upstairs.  It had a King size bed, TV, a microwave and a fridge (with complimentary soft  drinks and   a nice bottle of local wine).  Wi-Fi was weak- it worked but I wouldn't recommend it for on-line gaming!  This seems to be an issue all over Hermann- I had lots of dead spots on my cell phone, too.  There are rooms on the main floor if climbing stairs is an issue.

If you're bringing a bike they have a garage where it can be locked. 

On the way out,  I jokingly told them they needed to do something about that hill leading to town- it's so steep I even walked my bike DOWN it!  They said they'd work on that.  :-)  We already have reservations to return next year.

Our New Favorite Place in Hermann!

Wow, we just loved this place. My friend and I were biking the Katy Trail and we stayed here two nights. The owners are just super wonderful and very helpful with anything you need to know about Hermann. Breakfast was really awesome. 

Coming off the Katy Trail, they have a place to store bikes. There is also a hot tub which was super nice to help our bodies. 

Highly recommend for anyone that wants to stay in Hermann. My advice is to stay at least 2 nights since Hermann has a lot to offer. If we had more time, we would have stayed 3 nights instead of 2.

This place is awesome! Best owners ever!

Linda & Larry are great hosts and very knowledgeable about the area and must-see stops. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Indoor and outdoor seating areas to enjoy. Complimentary bottle of wine and a delicious breakfast - you won’t leave hungry!  We would definitely stay here again.

Welcoming & comfortable

Having never been to a bed and breakfast before, we weren’t sure what to expect. We brought a group of friends and family down for a bachelorette/bachelor party and we were so pleasantly surprised by everything That Stone Haus has to offer. From the house, the amenities, the hospitality and the above & beyond service they provide, you feel like you’re part of the family there. The kindest owners you’ll ever meet, Larry and Linda are absolutely wonderful, kindhearted people. We also enjoyed an absolutely delicious and hearty complimentary breakfast of French toast, bacon, fruit, and a variety of beverages. Why would you ever want to stay at a hotel?! 

We cannot wait to return again and will be sure to spread the word about this wonderful place.

Perfect place for a weekend getaway!

We had the most wonderful experience here at this B&B.  I honestly felt like the owners just opened the doors and let their home become ours.  The breakfasts were fabulous, the house is incredibly charming, and the owners could not have been more welcoming.  This was our first B&B experience in Hermann, however, we will certainly come back to the Stone Haus next time.  The price for the services was more than reasonable.  I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

No Need to Stay Anywhere Else

It’s a beautiful historic stone home and our room was spacious with a private bath. The hot tub was a bonus. It’s close to all the wineries and very peaceful. Linda & Larry were amazing hosts. Wonderful garden areas throughout to wind down at night and drink wine or have coffee on the porch in the morning. Delicious breakfast as well. We will definitely be back.

Lovely stay

This place has double charged us and tried a third charge. I've tried contacting them through email and gotten no response. Billed my charged card when I booked, Tried charging again a week out when they got manifest from travelocity. And I paid them again unknowingly upon check in not realizing they had ran it through three months before stay. Going to call tomorrow and try to get the overcharge back.

Watch out for double billing

The owners are very friendly and have been operating the b&b for many years.  The room had modern amenities with an old-world charm.  The quiche, fresh fruit and stollen we had for breakfast were inviting and delicious.  Coffee is available starting at 7 am and was very good.  Hot water for other beverages was also available.  Onsite, well- lighted parking is a plus.  I would highly recommend and will be back again.

Comfort of home plus

My mother and I take a trip together every year and this year we picked Hermann and chose the Stone Haus B&B for 3 nights. We chose well!!! Larry and Linda are exceptional people! Their kindness and hospitality are 2nd to none. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, I think I gained a few pounds from it! The B&B itself was beautiful and so comfortable. We always felt right at home. The screened in porch was so relaxing, we enjoyed a bottle of wine (that Linda had for us in our room!) out there. It was a perfect evening. If you are looking for an amazing place to stay - look no further!

Absolutely Perfect!

We celebrated our marriage with the honeymoon package at Stone Haus. It was a perfect ending to our small ceremony. Linda and Larry are wonderful hosts. Their home is full of character and the rooms are spacious. Breakfasts were delicious, we could hardly finish our huge meals each morning. They are both knowledgeable about the community and gave us great recommendations. We can't wait to come back.
