I recently stayed here through Airbnb. Entire condo hosted by Hing Chau. It is just outside of Waikiki so I don't have to deal with the traffic and tourist. It is easy to get around from here, either walking or driving. The room was clean with all of the amenities one will need. Hing keeps the unit clean and in tip top shape. He leaves you detail instructions in checking in and there is on-site parking at a reasonable fee. When my travels takes me back to Honolulu, I will definitely stay here again.

Great place away from the tourist 


Nice, clean, and VERY secure! near beach, brewery and restaurants 2-3 blocks. In Honolulu should get a car, I think. If get car make sure you can get a parking spot from the Inn or ABNB owner!!! NOT MUCH PARKING NEARBY!!!!

Secure floors!

Pick a top floor, views are nice! No full kitchen, but enough to cook/prepare small meals and store food. Good deal for a weeks stay. Located in downtown Honolulu, easy walking to the beach and malls nearby. Our unit was clean. We spent most time outside so mainly used the place for sleeping.

Great views, good deal for a weeks stay!

The location is great, but there is no parking. The closest parking is a short walk from the Inn, but it is very expensive. There are many places that is within walking distance, or you can catch the bus or Uber. The building is secure, with a security person in the front of the building. The condo that I rented was nice and very comfortable. There is a laundry room and pool. 

Great place to stay

We stayed here in a private condo we rented through AirBNB. I wasn't expecting much from the building but I was pleasantly surprised. 

Firstly, it is in a great location. It's a 10min walk to the middle of Waikiki and a 10-15min walk from Ala Moana Shopping Mall. Many of the tours we did leave from hotels less than a block away and if you stay on the front-side of the building you get terrific views of Diamond Head and Fort DeRussy Park.  

There was security down-stairs in the lobby at most times and they were easy to deal with while checking-in and getting the key to our rental. 

The facilities are basic but very convenient and modern. It has a great pool which was very clean and well-maintained. More than enough for a nice quick dip if you don't feel like going to the beach. They also have a nice outdoor, undercover common area near the pool with tables and chairs, loungers etc. 

They also have plenty of washers and dryers that work via credit card and we never had an issue finding a free one.  

It was a shame they didn't have any public parking in the building but it was easy enough to find parking nearby for our rental car. 

Overall I had a very positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to book another room here again.

Better Than I Expected

Central location. a small room with all you need for a couple. Kitchenette useful for breakfast and coffee. Can see some of the weekly fireworks from the window. Regular sirens in the street usually during the day. This is an old hotel that has been sold off as units. Some residents don't like the idea of short term rentals happening but generally happy with the place.

Good Location Can be noisy with street noise

My husband booked us here for 3 nights due to us rerouting our flights out and needing somewhere to stay. We didnt do any research. Hotel has a different name on booking.com, namely 1700-1900 Ala Moana Flats. Very basic budget flats with kitchenette. Ok but nothing like the reviews. Will do for now but would not recommend. Cheerful staff though.

Ok location, otherwise no

Good location close to shops and beach. Being on a main road can be noisy at night. 5th floor pool area is ok, but not enough sun around the pool to warrant sitting around. This is an old property, but has been updated and renovated. We booked a room via AirB&B and for the price this location is highly recommended as long as you aren't too fussy.

Ticks enough boxes

The pool was closed for renovations, We still sat on the pool deck but had to leave the second hand smoke from apartment terraces was so intense.
The location is convenient to the beach. There is some restaurants within walking distance and two 7/11s close to the building.

One star

In one word-don’t!!! The room was grotty with mould in the shower and sticky dirty stained carpet. The owner was unsupportive and gave curt replies with any request. Subterfuge made us feel uncomfortable ; written instructions stated “say that you have been staying for a month when asked”. Access to keys was complex and felt underhand. Avoid!
