We were here for my wife's work. We had to be in Houston early in the morning. We were  told this was a cheap but good place to stay, so we tried it out. I would say to spend the extra $20 - $25 and get a good national chain hotel.
There wasn't much room to park, so we got parked, put stuff in room and waited for a co-worker to come get us to go out and eat. When he got there, my wife wasn't ready yet, so we asked my co-worker to come in and wait for her hair to get done right. 
About 2 minutes after he got there, the phone rang. It was the front office. The front desk clerk started yelling at me that no guest were allowed. I told him it wouldn't be but a few more minutes but he continued to yell at me on the phone. 
I got my co-worker to go wait down the road at the corner store. When my wife was ready, he came and picked us up. After supper, we got him to drop us off on the road, so we didn't have to listen to the yelling again. 
When we got to the room, we took showers before bed. There was barely luke warm water in the tub, but hot water in the sink. We took the luke warm shower, we didn't want any more interaction from the front desk. 
Once in bed, the pillows were very thin, we couldn't sleep. And my wife likes a heavy cover. So I called the front desk and someone came and brought pillows but no blanket. He said we had to do with what we had. So we did. The bed was very hard, but new looking. 
The room was just ok. It was big, with microwave and fridge. Tub and shower in small bathroom. Sink was in a separate area. The sink area had a lot of ceiling paint paint peeling. But that didn't bother us. 
The floors were wood, not very clean under the sink and between the bed and lamp stands. We left some towels in these dirty areas so the cleaning ladies can find the dirt.
The outside lights shown around the curtains, lighting up the room, making it hard to go to sleep. The road noise and parking lot noise made it hard to go to sleep also. So we turned on the bathroom vent/light and closed the door to keep light down. Helped a little bit.

Not a very good place to stay

Don't be misled by the pictures online. The painting job was old, the caulk in the shower looked dirty, the floor had not been mopped, the microwave was dirty, and the sheets were stained and had cigarette burn holes. The so called breakfast consisted of coffee and a muffin you could buy at a gas station...
