The motel was perfect for what we needed. Close to the highway....super comfortable big and clean rooms and super friendly staff.
Motel 6 was perfect stopover on the way to my business meeting. 
I would highly recommend and I'll be back at my next trip.

I had a very pleasant stay at Motel 6, Ilion, NY. It was on par with Motel 6 standards, an economical, clean stay. The staff was courteous and friendly and the location was very convenient for me. I feel confident recommending this hotel for your stay in the area. Safe travels!

there's also very nice restaurants in the area that are cute nothing glamourous but good vibe 
also its right off the I90 NY STATE Thruway

Will come Again

Took three people to check me in because their credit card reader wasn’t working, and everyone had to have a try. It’s 2024 — figure out a reliable way to take credit cards. Ended up charging me twice (they allegedly refunded the overcharge). First room they sent me to hadn’t been cleaned. The second had theoretically been cleaned but was pretty dirty. Some kind of brown gunk in the toilet bowl and one of the “clean” bath towels had fresh blood stains on it. Floor gritty and dirty. Cigarette smell though it was supposed to be a no-smoking room. Very thin walls - you hear everything from adjoining rooms. WiFi essentially useless. I put the heater up to 80 to keep the room minimally comfortable — cold air pours in from door and windows. I wasn’t expecting the Ritz, but asking $92 for this place was beyond ballsy.

Stay somewhere else

The manager is amazing and does her best to help you. They are clean and comfortable. They are there 24/7 and does absolutely amazing work. Keep up the great job you are doing🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂I give them 5 stars

Just know what you are getting yourself into here.
Stayed here 3 nights to visit our grandson (who was working at Glimmerglass) and to visit The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
Cooperstown is a tourist trap with VERY overpriced hotel/motel rooms.
I managed to find this motel about a half hour away (less than that to Glimmerglass).
When I say no frills, I mean NO frills:
-very small room
-thin, cheap towels and no wash cloths.
-no hair dryers.
-discolored water in sink and toilet (toilet was also not cleaned properly).
-dirty wood laminate floors (the dirt came off of my feet in the shower).
-no furniture in room to store your clothing in.
-electric baseboard heating units are dirty.

Not all is lost, however:
-mini fridge and microwave in room
-nice LCD TV with good channel selection.
-nice ceramic tile tub/shower surround (needs a new shower curtain)
-good hot water supply.
-nice newer sink and countertop.

From reading the other reviews, I get the impression that this motel is under new ownership, and the new owner is gradually trying to renovate it.

To wit, my suggestions:
-clean it, clean it, CLEAN it.  Everyone notices lack of cleanliness.  A little elbow grease would go a long way.
-install a hair dryer in each room (cheap, but effective upgrade).
-get some decent towels.
-clean up your water supply.  The water in the toilet looks dirty even right after the toilet is flushed.  The water in the sink was brownish while I shaved.
-put a cheap chest of drawers in each room so visitors can put their clothing somewhere other than their suitcase.
-sometimes it's the little things that count, and the little things are not that expensive most of the time.

My wife said "ok" to your motel "this time", but also said she would not be willing to stay there again.

No frills.  Opposite of elegant.  Ok for Glimmerglass and Cooperstown.

The best part about this motel is it's super friendly and helpful staff member Ashley.  It is an older property that is currently undergoing renovation.  Overall our room was clean except for some paint shavings on the floor, the painter literally removed the blue tape from the door when we arrived.  Minimal amenities and some older features such as the thermostat and tub.  Great hot shower, though and not a terrible stay since we only needed a good night sleep and shower.  If you choose this property, have a lot of grace and patience for it's condition.

Overpriced for what you get 

Labeled a non-smoking room but clearly & strongly smelled of stale cigarette smoke; cigarette burn holes in bedspreads, blankets and mattress covers. Our packed pajamas smelled of stale smoke when we got home from sleeping in the bed sheets, had to wash them immediately! Toilet seat had a broken hinge, the water in the toilet looked like someone had urinated and not flushed but that was actually the color of the toilet water after it had been flushed?! Bedroom and bathroom did not look or feel clean, dirt on walls. Overall a very uncomfortable and unsettling stay for our family of four due to the poor condition of the room.

Very Disappointing Overnight Stay - No such thing as Non-smoking!

Affordable rates.Very friendly and accommodating staff. Our room was clean and recently updated. Located near the New York State Thruway. An improvement would be to invest in better (firmer) mattresses.

Great little motel for an overnight.

I have to say how clean the room was. I was in room 108 and very was nice. The ac worked very well. It was a nice 38 ride to the baseball hall fame. Plus I left something in the room and I hoping they will find it and they said they would ship it to me. Plus we booked all ready for next years. For a. Score I give it 4.2.
