If you love the days of the Andy Griffith Show, you'll love the Foster Inn.  What a wonderful stop for me.  Simple. Clean. Quaint. And a nighty rate that I haven't seen since 1978.  No frills. Nothing for kids per se'.  But for a 68 year old traveler,  this place is just what I need for a peaceful evening.   Leave your puppy at home, no pets allowed according to the sign in the office. ❤ 

Like the good old days

Efficient, friendly, convenient location, warm, welcoming and friendly management. Immaculate, comfortable room and bed. This is my GO TO lodging residence when visiting Monticello and the ChampaignUrbana area. A hidden treasure. ANOTHER stay at this clean, convenient, quiet and comfortable establishment. Cannot say enough good things about Foster Inn. Owners are the best!

A Hidden Treasure

Very comfortable. Large room with comfortable bed, small table and chairs, large tv. Nice hot shower. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Quiet, off highway location. Everything you need on a budget. Owners very nice.

Great value

No security lock on room door. You could see the screw holes on the door from where one used to be. Smoke detectors in room were not operable. Fire code states that a hard wired device must be in each room. One smoke detector was a hard wired type, but upon pulling off of the ceiling, it was never connected. The other smoke detector was battery operated and had no battery inside. Both looked as old as to be the building. Shower curtain rod and towel rod in bathroom were loose. Management could never be reached via telephone. I always had to walk up to the front desk and wait for someone to finally show up at the desk. Sink leaked and had exposed plumbing. Faucet also moved back and forth everytime you would turn it on or off. Cables for the TV were run on a power strip that ran over half way down the longest wall in the room. When I was checking out, I caught the owner digging through my bags as I loaded my SUV. I was parked 10 feet from my room door. I called them out on it, and the wife just walked away and didn't say anything to me. This place is not only unsafe, the only service that you receive is snooping from the nosy owners.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AT A HOTEL/MOTEL

Spent three nights in July here.   The place was clean with new bed spreads, clean towels, soaps, shampoos, coffee maker , hair dryer etc.   We had asked for extra soaps and each day they were left. Beds were made and clean towels daily.  I would definitely stay here again.   It may be an older motel but we’ll kept and clean.

Great service and accommodations

I’ve stayed at small motels before but this one was not good.  Room was old, except for a new TV. Gone all day and came back to find room had not been cleaned at all.  Towels thin, each bed had only two old pillows, and bed was uncomfortable.  Good location. Pop machine very reasonably priced.

Stay elsewhere 

Our family has enjoyed the Foster Inn for years and years. The current owners are so friendly and accommodating. You are treated like a welcomed friend. The room was clean and fresh. The FosterInn is indeed a hidden gem!

Foster Inn Is Terrific

Locals around here seem scared of Foster's Inn, but our experience was perfect.  Very clean, smelled great, no problems whatsoever.  Our room had TWO refrigerators, freezer, microwave, coffeepot, free WiFi, and nice flat screen TV.  No breakfast in the morning, but the price was right, so that didn't matter to us.  We will be staying there again when we visit family.

We arrived and were greeted by a very welcoming gentleman. We were so pleased with our room which was so clean. The Wifi was good no problems. I would recommend and most certainly would return. A great stay
