I'm a Disabled Wounded Warrior, who lives Full-Time in his RV. I stay at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL. I have to pull out of this Campground once a year for three weeks. When they have the Grand Nationals Shooting Competion. I've have Contacted them for the last three years, and I'm told that they are Full. I've Driven by the Campground and they were not Full at all. So to all Veteran's, don't call the K-River Campground & Motel. Because they will tell you that they have no Openings for you to stay there.

They are not Veteran Friendly.

My husband is using the campground facilities for hunting this year.  The owner is very helpful and the campground is neat.  The lots are gravel, fairly level, and it is full hookup.  The weekly or monthly rates are reasonable.  Most of the campers are local power plant workers or hunters, it seems.   The TV reception is excellent!  He is getting more channels there then we have ever had in the RV.  Two thumbs up all around.  He will return in the futture.

Cozy little place to stay. Nice inviting exterior. Newer remodeled interior. Weekly rate can’t be beat. Turner goes above and beyond to be accommodating. Stayed here while on a job and felt right at home.

Home away from home

Very quiet, super clean, no riff raff, 10 minutes to everything you would want, food is 2 minutes, very peaceful, family safe, rooms upstairs or ground level with outside entrance on every room, a slice of paradise !!!!!

Best decision you will make

Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms are clean. Comfy bed. Friendly owner and staff. Even the other guests were nice. Would stay again. Plenty of heat when it is chilly night. Good cable and easy parking. 

Great value for cost

This is a nice place with character.  The rooms are clean with a mini fridge and microwave.  Make sure to bring your coffee maker.  If you forget there is a Casey's Gas station close by to get the hot coffee.  The bed was comfortable and cozy.  There is a small table to eat meals at.  They are very welcoming and accomedating.  We will be returning.

Great place for price and perfect location between Sparta and Redbud

This is the second time we’ve stayed here. In fact we drove this direction just to stay again. Friendly, clean and welcoming. Your are out in the country yet close to other places to visit. We’ve told lots of people to stop if they are in the area. Won’t regret it.

Small town America

Clean rooms and friendly owner/staff.  He even made a dinner recommendation that was perfect.  Rates are reasonable.  This was a last minute trip and they were very accommodating.   This motel (I believe) is the closest one to the World Shooting Complex.  Will stay again next year.

Clean and friendly

We booked rooms for the 2017 solar eclipse.  Mike (proprietor) could not have been a better host!  I had some changes in the number of people I was traveling with and this was a heavily booked date.  Mike bent over backward to accommodate me and my guests.  He is truly an innkeeper who is more interested in providing first-class hospitality rather than making  money,  He could have gouged me (or others) when all the lodging in the total eclipse area was sold out, but he charged the same rate as any other day. Not only did he provide the promised rooms, but he also staged an eclipse party for all the guests, complete with a slide-show-on-a-bedsheet the night before and burgers and brats on the day of the eclipse. Not a fancy place but it was comfortable and provided a marvelous experience.  Book a room just to meet Mike!

We stay here in the motel every year while competing at the World Shooting Complex. It's 10 minutes away and the rooms are very clean. Mike makes you feel like family. It's very comfortable. A great oasis after long days in the heat!
