We visit the area often and decided to try a different motel for a night.  Traveling with a dog, options are limited.  Anderson Chesterfield showed as pet friendly on TripAdvisor so I booked with confidence.  We rolled into town late with an agenda, so discovering NO PET policy at the front desk was stressful.  We made an alternate reservation and money was refunded.  Could have been worse.

One Night Flop

We wanted a room near the Casino in Anderson the same week that Jimmy Buffet was at the Ruoff Crnter in Noblesville.  We found a room in Daleville at the Travel Inn. This room cost $72.&0 including tax. The room was clean and quiet.  There is no WuFi or breakfast, but figure it out. We have already returned once.

Pleasant surprise

I can not recommend.  It was a cheap room but left a lot to be desired.  Room was old could have used some fresh paint.  Sheets were clean but the blanket looked to be 20 years or older.  The bedspread was new but dirty.  No hangers for our clothes and no towel racks to hang wet towels.
Noise at night was disturbing due to the truck stop and highway nearby.
The staff was very nice, helped with bags got us water and drinks as needed since  the machines were out of order.
Overall I can not recommend it. Sorry.

Staff was very nice.

I needed a cheap motel close to Camp Chesterfield. The Travel Inn is much better than previous ones we had tried in the area. It has been painted and doesn't show the wear some reviewers complained about. It was clean and the room included a fridge and microwave plus pullout sofa bed along with the king bed. It was a very quiet room despite having people on both sides of me and near the highway.

It is conveniently located next to a gas staion and across the street from Wendys & Dennys. The free WiFi was fast. The Direct TV had a variety of channels with many being sports channels, but there were some decent channels included, too.

Breakfast consists of cereal and honeybuns. Not a fan of carbs, so it was good I brought my own breakfast. If not I could have headed over to Denny's.

Bed and pillows were comfortable. Innkeeper and wife went out of there way to make my stay pleasant.

Good value and location for buget motel.

Very Pleased

I stayed here on 8/24/2015 and I have beg bug bites all over my body. I stayed in room 110 and I can only hope that these go away soon with treatment.I just called and complained about it and it got me nowhere. This is a lesson learned for me.             

Don't stay here I got bedbugs from this place. I'll never stay there again. 

My stay spanned 4 nights and my choice was based on location, availability, and value. The Anderson Chesterfield Travel Inn covered all of three of those criteria. I was actually somewhat pleasantly surprised by the room quality.

The Travel Inn is an odd combination of hotel/motel. The right side of the building has doors to the outside and doors to an inner central hallway. The left side of the building has access only to the inside. So it is both a hotel and motel depending on which room you take.

The outside of the property is very dated and run down, with questionably-kept grounds and a tired, aging facade. The lobby seems like it could be straight from 1981, and the green carpet throughout the building is probably of a similar vintage. But you don't stay at a hotel for the quality of the lobby, do you? Incidentally, the breakfast was very limited but there is a 24-hour Denny's across the street if you need substantial fare.

The rooms were clean, the furniture was decent quality and condition, the TV was a nice 40" (or so) flat screen with Direct TV, and the PTAC air conditioning/heat (we used both during our stay) worked just fine. The mattress actually slept very well in our single king room. The shower head showed a lot of mineral deposits which were a little unsightly and the bottom of the door frame had a little surface rust, but nothing about the actual cleanliness concerned me. And the large mini-fridge and small microwave both worked fine.

It's everything you need for some decent sleep, and at a bargain price. I would stay again if I was still deciding based on the same criteria. If you're an over-the-road trucker you will be happy to know there is an adjacent lot for truck parking.

A dated property with strong value for budget-driven travelers

Stopped for one night because we needed a place to sleep and not other amenities such as pool, hot tub etc. price was great. Hotel is clean and quiet.  Staff friendly. Agee with others that u need to bring own soap and shampoo but we usually do so not a big deal. Train nearby which goes by several times a night. 

Affordable, quiet older hotel

Pros: Clean (I inspected two rooms prior to stay and both were clean w/no smoking smell), crisp linen but bring your own pillow, comfortable mattress. WiFi free, HBO and satellite TV. I do know that some rooms offer mini fridge and microwave in room. Friendly staff. I believe it may be family run, very hospitable to me. Not always at desk, but there is a buzzer to push. There is a pet fee I understand but they do accept them. We did not bring a dog. Husband came to see friends and go to Indy 500. Air conditioner was ok in room, walls a little thin but did not see many guests there so it was quiet. It was right off I 69 and Denny's/Wendy's across the street.
Cons: Older motel and outside (paint, trim, door moldings)not well kept at all, bring your own soap and shampoo (their soap was so thin it was bent and shampoo was in a little packette) if you want quality products. Coffee was only in lobby, not sure if it is all day, no coffee pot in room. They should not advertise breakfast...only packaged honey buns and Donettes in plastic containers, juice from gallon jug in fridge. Probably not stay there again but was an experience.
