Thank you Mark for answering the phone and being open while the majority of the country is shutdown.  We traveled on business from MN to Florida and back to find that some states shut down places to stay.  As a B&B owner and brewery owner, we always look for similar accommodations.  We arrived after 7pm and it was enjoyable to sit on the front porch with Mark and enjoy the evening chatting.  The home was built in 1902 like our home and has so much character.  Mark is doing many projects to keep the beauty alive.  Although we didn't have breakfast, the coffee was deliciously strong.  The front porch faces a beautiful park and when we return, we plan to walk around the historic area and enjoy all the city offers.  Thanks again for your hospitality.  Oh yeah, the bed was so comfortable!  If you like it cool, the ceiling fan is a bonus and since we travel with an air system, we couldn't hear anything ,so sleep was peaceful.

Great Find While Traveling During the Pandemic

My stay at Burford House was for a quiet pre-clinic visit in Iowa City. Mark was kind and courteous and actually bummed that I couldn’t partake in his delicious breakfast because I was fasting. My room was beautiful, and I especially liked the vintage lamps. My only request is to provide another blanket in the room for guests who might need one. The room wasn’t cold, however! Thank you, Mark!

Comfy and welcoming

My wife and I were just there over Thanksgiving Holiday. The house is beautiful and very clean. Service was excellent !  Parking off-street was available. Shower nice and Hot !!, Clean Towels. VERY QUIET !!.  I highly recommend !!

Great Place, Clean and Convenient

Mattress sunk in quite considerably providing no support.  Sink made random annoying humming sound.  I was not able to make it through the night before needing to find a hotel on short notice.  I would find another place.

Would stay elsewhere

We picked the Burford House due to its close proximity to both the campus and downtown Iowa City.  We had a lovely suite with sitting room, separate king bedroom, bathroom, and small kitchenette.  Furniture was gorgeous.  Owner gracious.  And at a very reasonable price.  Would definitely return.

Lovely and great value

All rooms are king, first floor room is great sized and well suited for a good visit. Free WiFi, We didn't take advantage of breakfast, but a good option. Close to college and many good places to eat. I would go back there the next time I go through Iowa City. Better than an average hotel and excellent price

Excellent value, Would stay there again and again

We stayed at Burford House for 4 nights. The suite was absolutely lovely - huge and incredibly comfortable bed, a great sitting area, just such a nice place to relax. Mark, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful, and completely went out of his way to offer advice, before, during and after we stayed. He makes lovely homemade breakfasts each morning as well.

I really wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place - it's wonderful!

Absolutely lovely place to stay

Stayed at this inn for the above mentioned game. This Inn is very quaint, breakfast great, able to walk to Kinnick stadium and campus. .Free parking, Facility clean, beds comfortable. Inn owner very friendly and professional. 
Stay at the Inn worth the price!
