We always stay here during our Fall waterfall tour.
The owner is pleasant and very helpful.
Room is clean, comfortable and perfect for our needs.

Outstanding Value! My Brother and I were coming up from Madison, WI/Rockford, IL for a ski trip over the winter holiday break. Intent on skiing and relaxing, we wanted affordable accommodations that were clean and well kept. Budget Host Cloverland in Ironwood, WI was AWESOME! it checked every box that we could have hoped for and then some! Room was immaculate and well maintained. Everything worked properly and my brother and I were both VERY impressed with the overall experience. Especially given the price point! Kevin was kind and cordial at check-in and offered suggestions on places to eat, and gave us local discount cards in the event that we chose to eat at any of these locations. We were very pleased with our experience and I would absolutely stay there again!

Outstanding Value. Get WAY more than you pay for!

If you are expecting the Ritz, go to New York.  If you are expecting the Bellagio, go to Vegas.  If you are in the Hurley/Ironwood area, and you are looking for a spacious and very clean room with r_e_a_l_l_y comfortable beds, then consider the Budget Host Motel.  There is no pool, or hot tub, or continental breakfast.  During our stay in November (they are ordinarily closed, but the owner kindly accommodated us), the fridge was cold, the room was warm, and the shower was hot.  

It is a roadside motel.  Set expectations accordingly and you will most likely be quite pleased.


Great roadside motel!!

Very clean motel, nice rooms and friendly & helpful owner. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet & warm and it had all the things I need when I’m traveling back and forth to Canada. I met a couple who were on their way back from Alaska—a LONG drive—and they loved it too. Will return!!

Nice clean motel

I stayed here last fall for a local road race and was very impressed: Super clean, spacious, 2 bed room.  Comfy bed.  Reasonably priced.  Easy drive to so many outdoor sights.  Plan to return next fall, trying to schedule a summer trip, too.  

Second great stay (6 nights), planning return

The owners were vcal ery friendly and helpful from the moment I walked into the lobby, maps, restaurant info and smiles. I had requested a handicap accessible room due to my husband's disability. The rm was very lg and accommodating with the exception of there was no assistance bar at the toilet. Very, very clean and the snow removal was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this private "Mom and Pop" local motel and we can't wait to return!

Hidden Gem

I hadn't stayed here in a few years as I am a Wyndham rewards member and usually stay at one of the two Wyndham properties in town, but they were full and staying here reminded me that I should stay here instead. Spotlessly clean comfortable room, lightning fast internet that you'd have to pay $30 extra for in a 4-star hotel. This property should be your first choice in Ironwood/Hurley.

Very comfortable stay

This motel was just what we needed. A clean quiet place with good beds and a convenient location.  We appreciate having a small refrigerator for our cooler items.  The owner was very welcoming and  we enjoyed our stay.  I would recommend this motel to anyone passing through the area.

Trip through the Upper Peninsula .

Unfortunately our room had an unusual bad smell. We should have said something immediately, but they let us in early and we didn’t want to complain. Wr thought maybe it was the cleaning supplies. The smell did not improve. We did say some thing then and they ozone  the room and gave us Febreze, but I’m still trying to get the smell out of my belongings. Not sure why they gave us that room if they perhaps had just sprayed. We did see a pest control truck.  We did not get a new room.  outside.

Bad smell

I am not exaggerating. This is an older property, but it is so well kept. There wasn't a speck of dust or dirt to be found in the room. The owner was super friendly at check in. My only reason for a 4 star review was that I would have liked a heavier blanket or comforter on the bed. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, and I am really picky about hotels. Great option at an excellent price.
