20 miles from the Canadian border.   Secluded - last week of Oct.   Basically had the resort to ourselves.  Loved the views and the fireplace. Did not like all of the dead flies and lady bugs -  swept up at least 6 times a day but it was their season to come inside.   Staff was great.  4 Seasons restaurant down the road was awesome.   Wonderful lady in the hardware store made us a Christmas ornament -  think her name was Kathy??  We will go back even though our goal was to see the Northern Lights and moose -  saw neither but saw lots of wild turkeys

Maine

Stayed in one of the stand alone cabins which was in good shape but could stand a bit of furniture upgrade in the living room.  Main building in old and needs a lot of repair, maintenance.  Roof is clearly way beyond end of life.  Indoor pool was open but way too cold to enjoy spending any time in it.  Office is only open from around 9 to 4, you can not gain access to the main building outside those times unless you have already checked in.

Cabin was nice

Older property, but very nice.  Lots of room, nice kitchen.  Stores down the street to pick-up supplies if needed. Nice property with direct access to ATV and snowmobile trails.  Restaurants down the street.

This was a week-long exchange through Interval International.  We didn't stay the whole week.
We always consider travel an adventure, but some adventures just aren't necessary.  The first clue that this place was about to be an adventure was at check-in when the very nice lady behind the counter (no complaints about her, she was very sweet and informative) handed me two keys: one for the unti and one for the front door to the lodge, with instructions that if we left or returned after the office as closed, we needed to be sure and lock the front door.
It became somewhat more clear as we went upstairs to the room.  There was no one else at the place.  No one.  The lights were on but no one was home.  Whether making a fast run to the grocery store or out for dinner, etc., we had to lock up and then unlock to let ourselves back in.  Strange.
The first morning I went to the front desk and asked how to get to the pool (looked good enough from the parking lot), the response to which was it wasn't open "yet."  I asked what she meant and for which she explained that it needed the seasonal opening treatment and a pool guy was supposed to be coming but hadn't shown up.  OK, so it hadn't yet been opened for the season.  So, next morning tried again to learn about the pool.  The explanation was now that it had rained that morning so the pool guy cancelled.  My curiosity was piqued -- why is your pool not yet open for the season and I'm asking about it on July 16th?  She replied that all she could do was apologize.
The unit itself was clean and functional, although everything was outdated.  The walls were pine paneling, which in Maine is just fine.  However, the bed and furniture looked as if they were out of a second hand store in the 70s.
The kitchen had the necessary appliances, but the uniqueness of the dish washer was intriquing.  The panel that covers that bit below the door had been "replaced" with a piece of black cardboard duct-taped to hold it in place.
Along about mid-week I went out onto the 'balcony' (in quotes to emphasize the small, narrow capacity) to seek better cell signal.  While putting in a phone number, I started to sit on the plastic chair.  As my weight initially settled on the seat, the seat back broke off and the vertical ribs that otherwise hold up the back then were nothing but sharp spikes that drove into both sides of my waist.  After my wife pulled me from my new position of neverending excitement, we agreed we had had enough.
We left.  Four days early.
Nice lady at the front desk when we were checking in and checking out -- but the 20 year old young lady at the front desk in between the first and last instances seemingly couldn't give a damn.  Nice enough insofar as a polite greeting when you could get her attention, and sufficient information when she deemed it appropriate to break out into answer mode after being asked a question.
No. No. No.  But that's just my personal opinion.

Jackman Maine is a lovely town the whole family enjoyed! We hiked most of the trip and were delighted with views of mountains and waterfalls as our rewards. The entry of the resort looks like a lodge and the staff is warm and friendly. We had unit 1, the AC had already cooled the room when we entered. We were surprised how spacious the unit was and easily converted it to a 2 bedroom with the privacy panels. The view from our balcony ensured we spent every morning and evening there. The kids loved the indoor pool and we loved the hot tub after a long day hiking. We will definitely be back!
Please note, the resort is not new. If you're booking for the room and not the location this is not the place for you. If you're booking for the location and want a welcoming comfortable place this is for you. 

Scenic views from start to finish

The cabin was very nice, a lot of space, excellent for families. However, the facilities were old and most of them was not working. Bring enough food, the super market nearby was expensive and not much choices.

Cozy cabin

When we arrived on time for check in the doors was locked and our key for our cabin was in a mailbox…that gave me uneasy feeling knowing anyone could use my key. Then the cabin has a lot of broken walls, windows, old appliances, uncomfortable furniture, and a odd vibe with dolls and personal possessions left by other tenants 

Beautiful Cabin but weird property

Beautiful, large cabins. We stayed in #11. Peaceful, tranquil, comfy. Even though it rained some of the time, it was comfortable and cozy sitting on the couch in the loft. This is rustic beauty at it's best. Bring groceries, cards and DVDs so if you are inside you have things to do and eat. The kitchen has everything you need except storage containers, baggies, foil- so bring some.  There is a grill on the deck. We took a day trip to Greenville for shopping and had a sandwick at Jamos. We took a day trip to The Forks and saw Moxie Falls.

Anniversary Trip 11/2022

Trip was with friends for a scenic mountain retreat with sightseeing the surrounding areas and enjoying the resort on our return. The areas was beautiful. The resort advertised a whirlpool (not functioning), a sauna (not functioning) and a HEATED INDOOR pool (heated to 77 degrees in a 70 degree room). The Clubhouse was as advertised, but all of these above had operating hours of 11 am to either 5 pm or 6 pm depending on day (while we where sightseeing).
The cabin's deck was molded to the point is had soft spots, the hand rail on the west side was rotting away. The ceiling fan in the upstairs bedroom wouldn't function as the blades dipped to the point we thought they may fall off. The cabin slept 10, but had 5 cups, four bowls, 8 dinner plates, a total of12 glasses (of all type including 3 wine glasses) and a severely stained/discolored porcelain sink. A good portion of the dinnerware was also chipped. The living room couch/futon had a wooden 4 x 4 support for the middle. There initially was no propane tank for the BBQ grill and although we called two hours in advance that we were on our way (on a 93 degree day), the air had not been turned on and the indoor temperature was a cool 95 upon our arrival. While most of this was blamed on Covid, the deterioration was so bad it had been going on for sometime.

Personnel tried to make up for the lacking facilities, but the lacking facilities won out big time.

They advertise and even tell you on the phone pool and hot tub so you can relax after a day of riding. NOT. Pool and tub open for four hours mid day for half the week and closed the rest. of course the staff/owners kids are in the pool and now that we're here 24 hours later the hot tub is also broken to guests, probably like the pool. All old half working stuff in the rooms. Nobody on site from staff in the evening. Free Wi-Fi is atrocious most likely due to more outdated or improperly installed equipment.  There is more I could say but they don't care. Is almost 4th of July and shockingly the outside pool is not open also. I would say years of mastering deceptive advertising to get your business. having said that most places in Jackman are way outdated and far from comfortable but at least they don't lie About there services provided.  We paid more to stay here then a cabin on the lake because of the advertised amenities but as you can tell they ripped us off instead.
