My mom, sister, niece, and I decided to stay here during a girls' weekend to Jefferson.  The room was compact but fit all of us comfortably and it had a nice-sized dining table where we could sit and play games in the evening.  We also loved the location, just a block away from downtown and all of the activity.  We really enjoyed our stay here and loved meeting Beth, who was very warm and friendly.  Thank you!

Great place that is very close to downtown

My husband and I stayed in the cottage.  Beth had secretly arranged the weekend getaway with my husband months in advance - without me knowing.  (Which is very hard to do I might add.)  The B & B was very clean & nice and we stayed in the cottage.  It was very roomy and the bed was quite comfortable.  There is also a day bed that can be used for 2 other individuals if you had more than 2 (family maybe).  Beth took the time to walk us around, show us how things worked (i.e., shower, AC).  She was also kind enough to provide coffee in the room, shampoo products in the room and always asked if there was anything else we would need.  I should have asked for some wine glasses - I'm sure she would have provided... I just forgot to ask. :)

The breakfast was served at 9am.  So plenty of time to sleep in a tad and then join the other occupants of the house for a leisurely breakfast.  The table was beautifully set with orange juice and coffee to start.  The meal was quite delicious, a Cinnamon French toast bake accompanied by a boiled egg, muffin, and a wonderful mango puree topped with blueberries.  (Oh yea...I got the recipe).  The other guests that were staying in the house were also really nice and pleasant.  The best part was Beth sitting down and actually talking with her guests, learning where they are from and providing us some insight and history to Jefferson.  She is quite the hostess and we took her up on some suggestions she made for our trip (which we hadn't done before).  

I have stayed at several B & B's in Jefferson and she is the most personable and gracious hostess that we have ever come across.  The morning meal on Sunday was just as good as the prior morning.  

If you're in the neighborhood - Chez Lafayette is a great place to stay.  (Also, you can walk to downtown - it's that close)

The Hostess 'Beth' makes this place a Must Go

Not worth the money, cat hair everywhere in the room. Wife washed her face and got cat hair in her mouth. Comforter had slobber or semen stains on it. Has a 10in tv and the shower doesn't have a shower head it has a hand wand so you have to wash your self with one hand so if it's cold which it was your screwed. Also who wants to look at pictures of a grandkid all over the room? We didn't stick around for breakfast for more disappointment.

Would not recommend staying at

We stayed in the cottage and it was nice and very private. A warning about the bed, if you are picky, it is very soft.  That may be fine for some but for us it was quite uncomfortable.  The bedding, though, was very nice and we enjoyed having our own place rather than being in the main house. Our hostess, Beth, was so very nice and friendly.  Come to breakfast hungry because you will be amazed at both the quantity and quality of the food. I couldn't begin to even make a dent in it but it was excellent and beautifully presented.  She was so very gracious and we enjoyed getting to know her. Also, the location of the house is perfect. If the weather is good, you can leave your car there and walk to all the downtown shops, restaurants, and attractions.

Wonderful Hostess and Breakfast

I stayed with Beth for one night on short notice and I could not possibly recommend this darling bed and breakfast more highly. Beth was so very hospitable and welcoming from the very start, helping me with arrangements prior to my stay and the care didn't stop there. Beth made sure I had everything I needed and then some during my stay. My room was wonderfully cool on arrival and the fridge constantly stocked and restocked with icy water. The whole place is beautifully decorated and maintained and if Jefferson itself wasn't such a great town, I could have very easily spent my whole stay flitting between Beth's porch and my sweet room. It is in an ideal location - nothing is farther than 5 minutes away! Beth helped me plan my visit in Jefferson and was a delight to talk to. She tailored breakfast to my dietary needs and boy, I will be hard pressed to dine so well again. I can offer no greater endorsement than to say that Beth provided me a home during my travels, a perfect example of southern hospitality, and on leaving, I found myself homesick for a place I spent just one night. I am eagerly anticipating my next visit.
