We stayed at the Main House (2 bedrooms plus  a pull out couch in the living room) with a full kitchen (but no dishwasher!). We had a great stay. They were incredibly COVID conscious. We asked them to leave all the windows open after cleaning the house and they were happy to do it. The heater in one of the bedrooms didn't work, but they had floor heaters we could use instead. The staff is incredibly responsive. Although they have no one on-site, it was very easy to get a hold of someone when I had questions. In fact, the rain gutter became detached outside our door on a very windy night. I called to let them know and someone was out the very next morning to fix it. The accommodations are comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are dated, but the rest of the house has an updated decor. The king bed was comfortable. The futon couch bed was firm, but better than most pull out couches. I tried one of the twin beds and it was pretty soft in the middle.

Excellent Customer Service & Main House Review

We stayed in unit #9 which is one of the units available if you're bringing your dog. I believe it is their largest unit and it is attached to the "office," which is really just a little open closet-like space with additional amenities for guests (first aid, DVDs, toys, crib stuff, etc.) This unit was a two-bedroom, with one room to the right of the entry containing two twin beds and one room at the rear of the cabin containing a queen bed, with a shared bathroom in between. The bathroom is small and tricky to maneuver through. 

There was a full kitchen with a dining table and a large living room. The furnace in the living room worked well and kept the living room warm and cozy. There was a second furnace in the front bedroom that did not work at all, but there were plenty of extra blankets. It snowed while we were there and with the one working furnace, we didn't suffer. The street where the cabins sit is a dead-end and has a small incline, so after the snow we were able to take the kids to the street and have them slide down it in a little saucer. They had a blast and there were no traffic concerns.

The living room TV has cable and Netflix. Just remember that if you sign into your own Netflix account, log out before you leave. Thank you BARNHOUSE for letting us use your account. You were the last account out of 6 that were associated with Netflix on our TV, so it's probably been some time since you stayed in that cabin, and we used your account to watch our shows. I apologize for continuing to kick you out of your account when you were trying to watch something, but it was snowing and we were in the middle of bingeing The Queen's Gambit. I'm sure you understand! No need to contact Netflix. It was us. 

The only cons about the cabin were: 
- one working furnace
- I wished we had access to a mop so we could mop up the melted snow from our boots
- being next to the "office" we had visitors looking for things, thinking we were the proprietors
- the bathroom was a snug fit

Otherwise, we had an amazing time and would definitely stay here in this cabin again.

Other things to note: 
- Probably because of Covid and the newer lockdown orders, almost nothing to eat was open in June, except Tiger Bar, which was fine and just a quick walk around the corner (even in the snow, it was no biggie). Food delivery was only available within Mammoth, so save yourself the time of trying to get anything at all delivered because it's not going to happen. Well, maybe June Pie (pizza), but that was closed the week we were there (and is right next to Tiger Bar, so also a little walk around the corner anyway). 

- June Lake Brewery was open for beer pickup only and there is also a little food truck called Ohana 395 that is open Thursday through Sunday only. Mammoth Brewery opens every day at 10:00 am and they have restaurant food you can order (take out only) and my husband said their beer was cheaper than JLB. Mammoth Brewery also served as our parking lot of choice to walk around the little village over there and do some shopping and walking around. 

- We picked up pizza from John's Pizza Works and I felt their pizza was overpriced for the quality of it. Their onion rings were really good, though. My favorite food came from Mammoth Brewery. I wish we would have tried Ohana 395. Their food looks amazing.

Great Family Getaway

Nice property with BBQs, firepits, convenient parking and great location.  You can walk to two different lakes, general store, brewery, restaurants, etc...  Owner/operators are  very easy going.  Grounds staff are accommodating.  Great vibe, can't wait to go back this summer.

Great Mountain Getaway

Adorable, well appointed, and affordable cabin for a couple of nights. Got clear info when I checked in. I asked for recs for places to go and food to eat and the recs unfortunately were almost all closed for the season (went between fall and winter seasons and most everything is closed.) IMaintenance man on site was very helpful when I woke up and there were 6 inches of snow on my car and I didn't have tire chains! Agree with another review that it would be helpful to have someone on site or very clear instructions for how to get ahold of someone. June Lake is gorgeous. Definitely would stay again!

Cozy, lovely

I booked a two-bedroom cabin (unit 8) for a work trip, and I was really happy.  June Lake is an adorable little community, and while most things were shut down due to shoulder season + COVID, I enjoyed walking through town and down to the lake.  I'd love to try the coffee shop sometime!

Inside the cabin, the two of us comfortably spread out in the two bedrooms.  The rooms are a little cold because the heater is in the main room, so I recommend leaving the doors open a bit at night.  I slept well in the bed (very comfy), and it was very quiet.  The kitchen is decently-stocked, and while we only used it to make tea, I could have cooked a meal.  The shower was small but fine, and the water was hot.  We had plenty of room to be comfortable and work in the small living/dining area.

When we came back late after finishing our work project, there wasn't anywhere to park in the lot, so we had to take a guess at where to park along the street (signing was a bit confusing).

The check-in instructions are good, but the keypad information should be more clear (type in your code AND hit the unlock key at the top), especially with no one onsite.  I have a similar keypad at home, but my co-worker struggled with it.

The floors were a bit dirty (especially in the bathroom), but everything else seemed clean and sanitary. 

I'd definitely stay here again.

Comfy stay for a two-night work trip

Nice,  quiet, clean, and cozy.  Staff very nice.  Cabin was cute and cozy.  We went for our anniversary and had a nice time.  Centrally located close to restaurants and general store.  Beautiful views.  Only recommendation, if you're going to offer a full kitchen and provide kitchen essentials, might want to provide oven mits to use with the oven.

Nice getaway

Like another review I just read we arrived after a long drive and it was 15 degree and dark. They sent me a code to open the door but failed to mention you have to hit a key sign at the beginning and  end of entering the code. Called emergency number. No reply for 45 mins. No one on site to help. Another customer was having same issue and reached someone that told her the info should have been on the email sent. It wasn’t on mine or hers. We did get in with the help of a stranger in room next to us. A girl called back and said she was sorry they left off info. Bad customer service. The walk was extremely icy next morning so We got a snow shovel out to break up ice so we wouldn’t fall. We stayed for two nites and I did see a maintenance man on the 2nd day. I assume they don’t work everyday. The room is cozy and good location but without Office Manager on site I was not pleased. There are so many nice cabins and hotels in the area that are reasonable with Office people there. They say Lake Front Cabins and that is misleading. None of the cabins are on the lakefront. You don’t get a nice view of the Lake. You have to walk down a block to see June Lake. Live and learn I’ll stay elsewhere in the future.

Visit to June Lake Nov 10 thru 12 2020

I'll start with saying that I booked a cabin in advance and never received any check-in instructions. My husband and I came very late at night, and couldn't find anyone at the reception. Literally empty place. It was freezing outside and we were exhausted after a very long drive. We kept calling and calling the numbers left on the office door for the emergencies, but it kept saying that it wasn't available at that time. After some time that felt like an hour finally a guy picked up and informed us that he is on the East Coast and it's 5am there. Is that really our problem?? He was not happy and couldn't find my reservation and tried to convince me that I haven't made it. Eventually he found it and then tried to convince me that they sent me the check-in instructions. He promised to look into it and call back in the morning, but he never did, because obviously they never sent me any instructions....
After such a disastrous check-in we went into our cabin... OMG! It smelled like a gas leak in there! All the windows were wide open and still it was impossible to breathe! We didn't dare to close the windows or turn on the heater to not make an explosion or get poisoned. So basically we slept in a freezing cold weather that was outside.
The last touch to this terrible experience was a note "take the rubbish out to not be charged the cleaning fee". So they don't do any cleaning between the guests? This is just outrageous, especially in these times.
Absolutely terrific experience, do not recommend and will never be back there.

Worse than a cheap motel...

I worked hard to book a last minute trip to mammoth/June lake area. Found lake front cabins that was happy to accommodate us. We were to stay in a 1 bedroom the first night and then move the next day for 3 more nights to the 2 bedroom for our family of 4, (2 boys 5 and 7). It was perfection from the minute we checked in. Kristen was so kind and helpful, we had our code the day before and we got there a smidge early before checkin and they said go right ahead and make ourselves at home! The one bedroom was really nice, looks newly remodeled. The 2 bedroom was even nicer and more spacious with the second bed bunks for our boys. Full kitchen, microwave, appliances, (bring your own coffee, that’s not supplied). TV with tons of channels, free WiFi, spacious outdoors with benches, tables, chairs, 3 fire pits, and hammocks! A quick walk to the marina to rent a boat and a quick walk to gull lake if you choose. Walking to food and shops. Really happy with the whole stay. Lake front cabins was great!!! Not a negative thing to say. Great experience and very kind staff all around.

Fantastic Visit!

This little group of cabins has been recently updated and the interiors are cute and fresh. It wasn’t as “Lake front” as I imagined and our room opened directly into a parking lot. There’s a big central area with firepits, chairs, hammocks, and BBQs, but it’s kind of dusty - might be nicer with some grass of some kind — however, my daughter enjoyed making s’mores there.  There’s no one on the property, however, and a text to the property management about where to find sheets for the futon (they were supposed to be under the futon) went totally unanswered. I ended up rummaging through the storage area and finding a couple of sheets.  I doubt we would stay here again but it was fine for a few days.  It wasn’t overpriced and it’s fairly clean and comfortable.
