Lovely resort with 2 pools at oceanside. Fantastic staff.So very quiet and a perfect destination to sit and watch the sunset.Wyndham seems to have the best resorts and locations! You will definitely need a car when traveling to the Big Island as there are no real buses to take you around unless you purchase an excursion.


Royal Sea Cliff

My wife and I completely enjoyed our stay, while vacationing at the Wyndham Royal Sea Cliff resort in Kona. It is perfectly located within all the seaside sights and various restaurants. Scenery was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the Wyndham Royal Sea Cliff Resort to anyone who is considering visiting the Big Island of Hawaii.

Club Wyndham Royal Cliff Resort

We stayed here for 10 incredible days, we are timeshare owners and love it.  The reason we picked this resort is because it's ocean front, even though there is no beach it's still pretty awesome.

Pros: Location, location, location.  Not far from downtown, free parking (though it's very narrow coming in & out), friendly staff.  We had a 2 bedroom deluxe with a great view and you can hear the ocean from our balcony. I always like having a kitchen so we don't have to eat every meal out. There was a storage area on the property where you can borrow chairs & umbrellas for the week which we took full advantage of.  There are 2 pools, both of which were nice

Cons:  Resort is outdated, this could be so much more than what it is.  It could easily be a 5 star resort but it my opinion it's about a 3 as it stands right now.  It would be nice if Wyndham invested some money into it and renovated it.  

Even though it is very outdated the rooms are still clean and housekeeping was efficient in bringing us whatever we needed.  Overall it was a great stay

Beautiful location

Sea Cliffs is a good location on the water. The resort itself is outdated and nothing more than a glorified hotel.  Our view was of the parking lot and the building in front of us. We booked a 2 bedroom condo for 5 adults. The resort stated 1-king-2-doubles and 1 queen sofa. We checked in and had 1-king, 1-queen and the pullout sofa. Called the front desk and was offered an air mattress for the floor.  The concierge and front desk were very nice. Jason booked our golf for the week and put us in touch with the vacation planner for our other excursions.  The shampoo and conditioner provided are for 1 day. We had to go to the front desk to get replenishments. (housekeeping didnt provide this service).  Same for laundry detergent and dish soap. Every time an outside door is opened you have to reset the ac.  The furnishings are old and outdated.  Sheets on the pullout sofa were stained.  Weve stayed in Kona many times and this was by far our worst resort. I would highly recommend the Kona Resort across the street. 

Very Disappointed

The Royal Sea Cliff is one of favorite resorts in Kona. Perfect location, excellent accommodations, staff is always helpful and polite.The only issue we had was the parking; the resort needs to expand the entrance to the parking lot - it's very narrow and the key pad needs to be illuminated at night in order to see it better. We love this resort and plan on booking again next year.

Wonderful Resort and Location

We have stayed at the Royal Sea Cliff before and the room which was above ground floor and closer to the water was bigger and in better shape.  We thought the room received this time was ok but not as nice as the previous visit. We were still happy with staying in Hawaii and the resort and the service was great.
Issues: Battery in living room remote died and we received new batteries; minor inconvenience.  The rug in the living room was very slightly lifted and I kept tripping on it.  It might be better just to remove it.  We felt the kitchen closet would be more easily accessed if it faced the oven.  With it facing the refrigerator; it was in a tight corner and just awkward.  The shower curtains smell like mildew.  It would be nice to have Smart TVs in the bedrooms also; not just the living room.
Overall: great stay and would love to return.  Thank you Royal Sea Cliff!

Royal Sea Cliff stay - 08/2022

did not stay here but i was i can rate them zero because after booking my whole vacation and confirming my reservation 2 times 1 st when I made it and second while i was on vacation and both times they confirm the reservation and everything was set to go now they of arrival they cancel my reservation and I had to go a lot of problems so they canceled your reservation after been confirmed with property directly. so be carefulll

Very nice complex. Beautiful vegetation and sea view the apartment is huge. 2 very large rooms with each toilet and bathroom. living room also very large, kitchen space, nice terrace. Very welcome

Wyndham Royal sea cliff

If you manage to get an ocean view, this place is amazing.  The only reason I gave it a lower rating is the kitchen was pretty small, we had some broken furniture in our room and corners not super clean.  Still, the view and access to walking on the rocks at the ocean make up for all of that.  We did have a very rude concierge for Wyndham that ruined the start of the vacation but the rest of staff was great.  It is walkable to a salt pool (fed by the ocean) farmers market and a quick drive or 30 min walk to warf where you can access all kinds of activities

Beautiful view (if you can get ocean view)

close to downtown.  clean,  quiet,  great views.  Only concern is that both bathrooms are ensuite.  I had friends on the pullout couch,  and had to go into one of the bedrooms to use the facilities.  Deck was huge.
