This is a little Hidden Gem right off the interstate 4 miles from Oakley Kansas.

The  place is old by outward appearances but the rooms are nice, clean and very comfortable .  It has a very old school
and down home appeal to it. Excellent good Wifi,  great hot water, and everything that would make your stay comfortable..

The Owners are above and beyond very nice  and caring Christian Folks who go above and beyond to treat people nice!!

It is most definitely affordable and budget friendly for the frugal traveler who is looking for a peaceful quiet stay.

Highly recommended. If you are traveling through the Oakley area right off Interstate 70 make this your designated stop, you will be glad you did. This is American owned and operated, and let's support our American Run Mom and Pop

Good Motel and Good Owners

We took a look and saw how terribly run down this place is. It desperately  needs to be painted. There are derelict vehicles sitting around. The owner kept adding fees onto the cost until it was $10 higher. There is no free breakfast anymore. The restaurant they worked with has closed. She offered us two frozen burritos. Ugh. We decided to look for another place. 

The place is a dump

Well, at least the lady at the front desk was nice, I think she was probably the owner. Besides that just about everything else was very, or at least fairly disappointing and underwhelming. First of all, the free breakfast part is kind of bogus. I was originally informed by information about the Inn, on the internet that part of the benefit of staying at this place was a real breakfast in a real restaurant. However, if that was a part of the Inn's offerings originally when I visited it had been replaced by a frozen burrito, or if you didn't want that a package or two of non-descript cookies or crackers, or a container of spam. I think the most disappointing part was that there was no explanation, but rather , "pick one or go hungry".
Second, the rooms look like they were put together haphazardly, and with only the choices provided by a poorly supplied, vintage thrift store. Nothing goes together or matches, and everything is old and dilapidated.The worst part being  the beds, which I not only could not get comfortable on, but I worried about it having bugs.
To be honest, do yourself a favor, don't stay here. There are really plenty of hotels in the area for the same fee, and they are real hotels.

Better to keep on going.

We stayed there for about seven hours, just to sleep and continue our drive. First the positives: It is right off the interstate. So it is easy to find. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and positive. At least the bugs I saw were dead. Now the negatives: We were told that we did not get a free breakfast because she never knew when the restaurant would be open. The driveway and parking is dirt and gravel. Dead cockroaches in the room. The floor had a definite slope to it. A lot of differed maintenance such as holes in the walls. There was a big stain behind the toilet that looks like the wax seal was not working. The sheets and towels had frayed edges.  I would suggest bulldozing it and starting over, but first I would want to test the popcorn ceiling to see if it is made of asbestos.

The next town West has better options

I love this place. It seems to me to be “Retro-Chic”, like the roadside hotels and attractions that formed many wonderful memories of family vacations many years ago when my parents were doing the driving. Old fashioned style but renovated and maintained to today's standards. I would use words like quaint, charming and family friendly. I recommend that you go out of your way to meet and speak with the owner/proprietor Jeffery, who will charm and entertain you like a loving grandfather with many of his unusual adventures to share. I checked in for a short stay to shop for rental housing but was more than comfortable enough to stay for 12 weeks.

I love this place.

It is OLD.  If you like paneling, old furnitures, dirty shag rug, shower head coming out of the wall, king size mattress that sags in the middle, and old office chairs, stay here.  If not ...keep on going.

Free Breakfast Inn gave us a warm welcome when we arrived late. It was like arriving at Grandma's house in the 60's complete with a stuffed bunny and dolls on the dresser, lol.
the room was clean yet did not have that motel cleaning chemical smell. The free breakfast was at the restaurant across the road - very good!

Like other reviews I will comment that the owners are friendly Americans that will do anything within reason to make it nice for you! The free breakfast is in the nearby restaurant and is a huge plus! I liked the bed and there was plenty of water pressure for the shower. Very easy access to your room; no stairs at all and it's quiet! I like clean rooms with carpets thank you!
