My wife and I stayed at the Super Budget Inn. This site says its in Kansas City but, its actually in Independence Missouri. The room was clean, smelled good and was roomie. The beds were comfortable and the linens were very nice and clean( unlike like a few of the others we have stayed at) The motel staff were nice and very quick to make the customer happy. Stayed for two(2) weeks and never had any problems from the staff or the guests.

Fairly Cheap

When we were checking into this motel the woman asked us if we wanted smoking or non smoking and i said smoking. Also we asked for a single bed but she said that they only had double beds so i don't even know if we were charged more because of it. So we checked in hoping that Valentines Day would be special for us. Boy were we wrong for thinking that would happen. First thing was that all the bulbs were gone out of the lamps, the heat did not work, the room smelled stale, the toilet did not flush, the bath tub was nasty and the beds had stains on the them and so did the pillows and also the towels were nasty and stained to. Luckily we brought our own blankets and pillows. When we checked out my boyfriend took in the key and the remote and to get our $10 deposit back and i noticed that the woman behind the counter was giving him problems so i went in to see what was going on and my boyfriend told me that they would not give us our deposit back because we smoked in a non smoking room even though we were told that we could. The owner ended up coming in and telling my boyfriend that he had no sense and treated him like he was a piece of trash and there was yelling between the both of them while waiting on the lady that checked us in to verify that she told us we could smoke in the room. When the lady came in she did tell them that she said we could smoke in the room. After taking so much disrespect from the owner, my boyfriend asked him to step outside so that they could talk and the owner came out from behind the counter and he showed his gun. These people do not know how to treat customers or employees. They are very disrespectful and rude.

Do Not Ever Stay Here Even If Your Desperate

First fo all, please pay 5 dollars more to get a way better place. This place is run down, old. the wifi works only on and off. i don't know if they publicize a pool but there is not anymore. Instead of changing the caprpet onver the years they simply added a new one under the other. it's a sad place that had it's years of glory but 35 years ago.

We checked into 2 rooms.  Beds may have had clean sheets, but they had spots on them.  No blankets, just comforter.  Pillows smelled.  Walls had pictures at one time, based on the outline of them in the dirty walls.   Bathroom was disgusting, cigarette ashes in sink with burn on the rim where it must have sat and burned out.   This was in a no smoking room, which smelled of smoke.  After discussing with person in other room we decided we could not stay there and get any sleep at all.  On the positive side, staff was friendly and called owner for approval to give refund and housekeeping staff offered to reclean and change sheets but it wouldn't have been enough to make us reconsider.   For that reason alone I give them one star.  Also thought a bit strange that they took copies of our driver's license, which they again called the owner for permission to give the copies back to us.  Found a place within a couple miles for $20 more which also served a hot breakfast.  They wanted to see driver's license but did not feel the need to make copies.

Not even if you're desperate

Ended up not staying here beds ok but bathrooms were not. First room had errant water on floor...was told maintenance just used tub to get water ...if so grease in tub in second room is from what? There was a smell, burn marks on sink and brown stains on walls. 

They were good about giving me a refund and said they would address the concerns... but I would give them time before making a reservation at this location
