We traveled with another couple and stayed in the 2 small bedrooms on the bottom floor. Everything was immaculate and well done with the decor, so cute and comfortable!  The breakfasts were gourmet and nourishing.   It's the little things that made everything so nice...Keith and Melissa were great hosts and provided a welcoming environment for our enjoyment. They go beyond expectations and are so easy to get to talk to. They provide a hairdryer, towels, extra heater if needed, cookies, comfy places to play games or talk. We already miss them and want to go back for another visit soon!

Amazing place

Crane's Rest and Homer were the highlight of our Alaska Trip.  The owners are very hospitable and accommodating.  Their  B&B is spacious, sparkling clean, and has breathtaking views of mountains, glaciers and the water.  The room was beautiful, private and very comfortable. The breakfast was homemade, plentiful and delicious.  We felt like we were staying at the home of a friend.  We will be back!

Wonderful place to stay in Homer

From the moment we arrived at Crane's Rest for our 2-night stay we felt right at home.  The views of Kachemak Bay and the glaciers from this peaceful setting are priceless!  The rooms are clean, comfortable, well appointed and maintained.  When in the common areas upstairs, one feels like you are sitting in your own living room.  Keith and Melissa are wonderful hosts.  After 5 minutes you feel like you have know them for years; so down to earth and welcoming.  Breakfast was delicious.  Keith is a great, creative cook.  Melissa's pastries and cookies available throughout the day are yummy. Yes, you can stay in a hotel in town or on the busy Homer Spit, but Crane's Rest is worth the 10 minute drive from town to experience this great location and wonderful hosts.  Our first and only choice for future visits to Homer.

Exceptional hosts and location!

Everything about Homer was amazing to me! From the beach area, to the restaurants, to the B&B Crane's Rest!

Keith and Melissa are wonderful hosts and are sooo very welcoming with their guests! The cookies upon arrival, the breakfast next morning (especially the peach pancakes), the backyard scenery to the glacier, the serenity and peacefulness their property exudes is just priceless!!!!!

You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Amazing Stay!

Melissa and Keith are wonderful hosts during our two-night stay at Homer!  Not only they provided us resourceful information prior to our stay, but also during our stay they have gone extra miles in supporting guests!  The view at their home is touch notch as we could see the mountain with glacier and the sea with peaceful view.  They also made awesome breakfast with creativity and surprise and super yummy!  We are grateful to be able to enjoy this accommodation and become friends of Melissa and Keith.  All the best to their business and i highly recommend anyone traveling to Homer to experience their accommodation :)

we had a great time at Keith & Melissa 's home!

Keith and Melissa are fantastic!! Right when we drove up we were greeted by Keith’s warm hospitality. Melissa makes the best warm goodies and Keith’s breakfast was divine. The place was inviting and very pleasant to stay in!  They have comfortable indoor and outdoor seating for rest and relaxation as well as nice cozy rooms with plenty of wall outlets. Outside there are bird feeders that allow for bird watching. Keith answered all of our questions and led us to some great places in Homer. I would so stay here again!! Thanks Keith and Melissa!

Wonderful Rest

The location is absolutely stunning, with beautiful views of the mountains from the outside deck!  The place has a wonderfully relaxed vibe, attributable to the friendly and welcoming proprietors.  Great home cooked breakfast! The rooms are extremely clean and well decorated.  The property is beautifully landscaped, and has a beautiful deck and patio. It's about a 15- to 20-minute drive, but after dealing with the touristy crowds and traffic on The Spit, it was a delightful place to return to!  And since I was there in mid-July (when the days were really long), I spent wonderful relaxing evenings sitting out on the patio until the sun went down at 11pm.  

Don't be put off by the semi-industrial area you need to drive through to get there - once you arrive, you'll be amazed by the beautiful setting!

If you visit Homer, don't restrict yourself to The Split.  There are wonderful shops, restaurants and sights in the town itself.  And a great Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings!  Or take a day trip to Halibut Cove!

One of the best B&B experiences I've had!

Crane's Rest was a lovely, comfortable, peaceful place to stay--a home in Homer. After sport fishing and dealing with crowds on the spit, a quiet dinner on the patio was the perfect way to end our day. Keith and Melissa were wonderful hosts! Keith even packed a delicious breakfast at 6 a.m. for us to take on our fishing expedition! We could not have asked for a better experience.

Perfect retreat after a day of adventuring

Keith was a very responsive host and very helpful and accommodating.  He offered delicious breakfasts and was able to pack ours to go when we had early morning adventures.  He was a pleasure to stay with and we would recommend his B&B for anyone traveling in the Homer area.   Great Katchemak Bay view!  
It is a beautiful home in a private, quiet location just east of Homer.
