Even though arriving later than expected The owner Lu Ann met us upon arrival and showed us to our room comfortable rooms nice kitchen area and Bath She was also so helpful throughout our stay going above and beyond will gladly stay here in future visits although place is up for sale as owners wanting to retire

Alaska Getaway

Unfortunately, we booked this reservation on booking.com and the site indicated we had one of the last rooms.
We arrived in Anchor Point as my directions on Google disappeared. We called the owners who provided directions and were pleasant. We drove one a paved and dirt road for 7 miles off the main road. The owners met us at an intersection and we followed them to the location.
No other guests were there and the owner stated booking.com often says there are no rooms left.
This was an older home that is for sale.  The steps at the beginning have no railing and when there was a railing, it was very loose.
The room was large but old and looked like no one had been there in a year or more. Not all the blinds closed, the tub looked unsanitary, and there was a spider on the chair. The place was dusty. We would have rather driven the extra few miles to Homer. The view is nice from the owner's suite.  The entire house was empty and it had a very eerie feel. Lucky for the owners we were tired and it was late.  If we knew Homer was another 20-30 minutes down the road, we would have gone there. You can get better for your dollar in Homer



Expected better

This is a large house converted into several apartments, high up with wonderful views. We booked a cheaper room but on arrival were upgraded to larger room.  This room did not have cooking facilities, though later we found that several of the rooms did. The owner did not live on site but met us and was extremely helpful letting us use the kitchen in the best apartment as it was the end of the season and no one else was in the house.  When booking we suggest you find out whether there are cooking facilities or not.   The rooms were all clean with tea, coffee biscuits etc. etc.  We enjoyed our stay here though it is about 15 miles from the centre of Homer.  The views are outstanding as each apartment has plenty of windows.

Excellent guest house in wonderful position

Four people sharing the two top floor apartments and its large kitchen. Very pleasant stay with great views. Homey feel to it, complete with living room, piano, kitchen and a messy but fun game room for pingpong. It's not the Sheraton, but clean and comfortable enough.

Pleasant home like stay

We wanted to see Homer, so we chose Knob Hill Guest House for our stay. After the long drive out there, we were really looking forward to a hot shower and a good night sleep. The shower was disgusting (the rest of the bathroom showed signs of mold damage as well) and the house lacked any form of sound insulation, so we were woken early to laundry elsewhere in the house and guest traffic. We found out the hard way that the single roll of toilet paper was the only roll we had, and the common game room was cluttered with junk.  The area is scenic, but I wouldn't recommend this accommodation.
