We stayed here 4 years ago and I don't think they have done anything to maintain the rooms since then. Paint was peeling off the walls, which were stained.  I asked for 2 simple things a box of tissues and a decaf packet for the coffee maker they had neither.  The bed was uncomfortable. The road noise ( while not their fault ) made sleeping difficult. I will not stay here again next time we visit family despite the convenient location.

Older place but fairly kept up.  Our room was clean.  Great water pressure.  Check-in was easy.  Quiet. Other relatives were here also and their rooms were spacious and clean also. Would come back if in the area. Lots of nice restaurants in the area.

Birthday party

The Welcome Inn is a 1950's roadside motel (one story with parking directly in front of the rooms.  The place is neat and clean, but it has a certain smell of some types of cleaners.  All the appliances worked, including the A/C, but the door to the room bumps into the near queen-sized bed.  The bathroom is of decent size, but it is old.  There is a nice new shower head that is up high, but the shower is in a bathtub whose floor is a bit slippery.

It is just what it is

I spent a month at the Cheshire Welcome Inn during July/August.  My room was spacious and clean.  All the amenities in my room were up to date and in perfect working condition.  The staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful when I had any questions.  I will continue to make this cozy motel my stop when visiting the Cheshire area.

 The room was exceptionally clean, (no nasty wall to wall rug👍)The bed was very comfortable, all the basic necessary amenities were provided and the price is unbeatable!

Unexpected great find!

We stayed at The Cheshire Welcome Inn while visiting family over July 4th. It is 10 minutes from my son's house and their guest room was filled. This is the old style motel where each room has an outside door.
The owner gave me a discounted rate since I booked directly. They let us check in early and the room was a pleasant surprise. It was very clean, recently updated with a large king bed, bedside tables and overhead lighting on both sides of the bed, a desk with a chair, a nice tv and a large fridge with a separate freezer, a microwave and a coffee pot. The flooring was new and attractive, no carpeting.
 The bathroom was spacious with plenty of room for toiletries and a large shower that even had a retractable clothesline. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and maintained. There was an ice machine, vending machine, and washer and dryer down the hall.
I get up early and put a lawn chair outside the door so I can read while my partner sleeps in. When we came back later they had put two plastic chairs out for us to use.
The owners were very pleasant and present. Our only complaint was that we are short and all the comfortable bedding made the bed high. 
Even though it was right on Route 10 the road noise did not bother us. It is convenient to Big Y, Dunkin Donuts, and many other stores. We had a delicious breakfast at Peter's II that was a five minute walk away. We will stay there again when we visit our family.



What a pleasant surprise!  

I made a reservation through a booking agency and had to cancel because of COVID.  I spent hours on the phone with the booking agency trying to get the cancelation fee waived.  When I called the motel they said the problem was with the booking agency, but the booking agency said it was the motel.  I have stayed here many times but never again.  Obviously they place money ahead of their customers.

Poor customer service

Happened upon this inn online while searching for an affordable room for one night. What a pleasant surprise this place is! The proprietor was incredibly warm and friendly even though it was late at night. Our room was immaculately clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water and also was very clean! I strongly recommend this business!

Five Star all around: clean, comfortable, quiet, courteous & convenient. Compact traditional motel room w/ individual front door & back window (it opens = fresh air!), plus all the contemporary additions: reliable free WiFi, excellent beds, many pillows, instant hot water, strong shower pressure, good hair dryer, iron &  ironing board,  etc., along with spotless microwave, fridge, & coffee maker,  Family owned and operated. We've visited annually+ for 20 years; always a pleasure to return. Bonus: lovely landscaping!
