First off when I wasn’t checked out by 11am they just walked in my room and told me it’s after 11am, get out! I couldn’t believe they just walked right in my room. I told the man I was finishing my packing and working on it but he needed to leave. I told him that in the 35 years I’ve been staying in hotels no one has ever done that! He left but another man walked in next and grabbed the key and remote! Unbelievable! 
Six days after my stay, using my American Express card as payment, I received notice of 2 Amazon Digital charges on my account totaling  62 bucks. 
I’m convinced someone stole my card numbers at this hotel so Beware staying here. My next call will be the police department in Monticello KY !

THIEVES!

we get there and i check in.  
the guy behind the desk tells me theres a $8.50 reservation fee.  
i reviewed the reservation again and saw a “RESORT FEE”

i said, no there isnt.  
he says yes its $8.50 reservation fee. 
he then explains that when people book online, the online co. charges a fee. 

i told him that ive booked approx.   200 nights a year for business.   
the past 30 years, and 20 of them online, and have NEVER seen a “reservation fee”. 

i then asked him if he knew what a gold member of hotels. com is?
he said no, i told him that a gold member is someone who books MANY hotel nights per year.   

i then explained that i know of every fee imaginable at hotels.  
and there is NO reservation fee.  

i then asked him if he knew exactly what that “reservation fee” was that he was referring to.  
i explained and showed him that it says RESORT fee, not reservation fee.  

i asked what about the property warranted a resort fee.   
he didnt have an answer.  
i asked why they dont just add $8 more if they wanted more money.  
again, no answer. 

anyway, i paid it (knowing the next call was going to be to hotels,com)
i enter our room and i head straight to the ac and turn it on.  

i turn around and there he was (the guy from the front desk) IN my room, no more then 2 feet from me.   
w/out knocking, or asking to enter or anything, just walked in and proceeded to stand in my room.  

i asked why was he in my room?
he said to show me how to use the air conditioner.  

i said, after staying in THOUSANDS of hotel rooms, dont you think i know how to use an air conditioner?
i did not wait for a reply, and told him if he enters my room again without my permission while i am present again, i will call the police.  
i told him to leave.  

my wife who was with me, was SHOCKED at what just transpired.  

we finished bringing our bags in and went to dinner.  

over dinner, my wife told me she was VERY uncomfortable with what happened and was nervous about staying there.  

i really couldent blame her.  i wasnt comfortable about stating there too.  

so i booked another hotel for the same town.  

when we finished dinner, we went back to that hotel and got our belongings and left. 

knowing how some hotels work, upon exiting, i took a picture of the room SHOWING we never slept in the bed, nor used the room in anyway.  

once we got checked into the other hotel (which they were not surprised at what happened), i called hotels.com and shared all the problems with that hotel.  

hotels.com tried a few times over 2 days to convince that hotel to refund the charge

BEWARE

After a long day riding motorcycles, we stopped in at the Monticello Motel for some rest.  Outside looked clean and well cared for.  The clerk was very friendly and took our needs into consideration in selecting a room for us.  The room was small, but comfortable.  Air conditioning worked great.  We rested well and were ready for another day of riding.

Quaint little place

We had a long day traveling and came across this motel about 11:00 PM. We got a room, I carried our bags in turned on the bathroom light and a roach strolled across the floor and up the wall. I walked back into the room and the nightstand between the beds had roaches crawling on it. They ran under the bed. I immediately grabbed the bags took them outside and shook them off before putting them back in the car. Then went to the office to get a refund. I explained why I wouldn't stay there, she offered a different room. I declined. She then went to check the room and of course the bugs were hidden by then.  She said she never had bugs and someone brought them in. When they don't run from the light they have been around a while and are probably throughout the whole building. She finally gave our money back but wasn't happy about it.
The room had a double bed and a single bed in it. It looked old and uncomfortable but I wasn't about to sit down on it. It was run down in general. Even at $55.00 a night that's to much to ask. I drove another hour rather than stay here.

Never again!

Harry Patel was friendly and accommodating.  He even picked us up at the Wayne County Airport nearby.

The room was clean, and updated, with a flat screen TV on the wall. 

Motel was a very good value for the price.

I would not stay here .. They would not accommodate my handicapped mother .. The beds SUCK .. No trash cans in the room . Bathroom is very small .. I wouldn't recommend this place to any body. They lied and said cancelation was 72 hrs and then they said 48 hrs then they said 24 .. We had to check out due to the lack of accommodation for my mother
