Remote location 7 miles from town up Kern river. Only one neighboring camping facility. Room very comfortable with good kitchenette, large tv, comfortable bed. Outdoor BBQ facilities and tables to eat outside. Everything spotlessly clean. Hotel is well maintained. Staff super friendly and helpful. We stayed here 2 years ago and enjoyed it then. Will return.

Excellent mountain stay

Absolutely perfect getaway. Staff were phenomenal. Super welcoming & room was set up superbly. The property is gorgeous with beautiful views. You're within walking distance to the Kern River. We took advantage of that a few times during our visit. Loved our stay & will be re-visit again for sure.

Hidden Gem. A must visit Lodge.

This was the only choice we had when booking last minute . The inn was clean but drab. The bedroom was a good size space but was dark and stuck in the 70’s with a very old carpet that really needs replacing along with the old kitchen units which could be spruced up. We did not really want to hang about in this depressing room. The bbq area was uncomfortable. There was no real comfort at the inn. I guess it pretty much owns the monopoly in the area so doesn’t feel the need to change. The manageress was super helpful and lovely!!!

Great location but Drab

Nice location near the river, just a few miles from Kernville and spotlessly clean. Great older place yet updated room and features. Tina was always there, friendly and helpful. The kids saw the Milky Way at night and sunrise over the beautiful mountains was amazing. We will return.

Nice, private location, clean lodging, friendly place.

VERY friendly and helpful service. Tina and her staff are all delightful people. Their tips on things to do and places to eat were right on. Room was very clean and efficient with comfortable bed. Location is ideal if you want to do both river and hiking.

Very Enjoyable Corral Creek Lodge

The reservation was easy - called the office, and was quite happy with the service.  Then when we arrived, Tina was wonderful - very kind and showed us our room - made sure we were comfortable.  The room was very clean, beds a bit hard, but all in all our stay was relaxing, and just what we needed.

Corral Creek Lodge is wonderful

We were on a road trip camping, and just needed a comfy bed and a shower for a change, so I found this place quick without doing any real review on the place. We got lucky, place was clean, spacious and had nearly a full kitchen setup including cutlery and dishes, even had a cooktop! It was quiet and peaceful. On the call the lady gave us a top tip, town closes early so if we want a little dinner be sure to grab it on the way in! Then the following day we had a bit of extra time on our hands and she gave us some good stuff to do in the area.

Clean, roomy w-good in room accommodations

So we checked this place out since we were coming to Kernville and figured we stay here a couple of nights while we hit the river in the mornings. Upon calling, we spoke to Tina, and she informed us there is only one roof available, and for one night only, so we jumped on it. 

Checked in about 5:00 pm on 3/22. Got our keys went to have dinner in Kernville. We returned around 8:00 pm and got ready for bed since we were tired. This is where things went south. Immidetly upon arrival from the dinner, we heard this loud banging noise coming from the room next door. Upon checking, we realized this was an "Employee Room"  We called the office and told the guy on the phone we heard loud metal and pipe banging from the next door, to which he replied; The water heater does not work! I asked him why they would book a room next to a broken water heater where there would be such loud noises? The person (I believe the name was Jerimiah) said again rudely, " I guess it will stop when people stop taking showers! I was like, wow! Okay?! What the hell do we do? This was the only lodge and not many available since a rodeo was in town. So we bit the bullet and went to bed. Throughout the whole night, this loud noise kept ongoing. Finally, it stopped around 6:00 am, and this time, there was a work crew out in the back right below our window talking loudly and working, trying to fix the problem? 

At this time, I had enough. I called the front desk, and the same guy picked up the phone. I told him we could not sleep the whole night and were not happy with the way things were going. He SCREAMS, SAYING; DID YOU SLEEP HERE TONIGHT OR NOT?!?! I said to myself, this guy has some nerve. I went to the restroom to get ready to go down when I realized there was no power in the room. This was turning out to be a sketch out of SNL. At this point, we were just done with it all. We gave our keys back to Tina early in the morning, who seemed like a nice girl, and she apologized on behalf of Jerimiah, and we checked out.

Maybe the establishment owner needs to retrain the staff on how to speak to the clientele. If you are in the hospitably business, you need to be accommodating and not act as a slum lord, even if you are in the middle of the mountains.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

This place was basically awesome. I arrived at a weird time of year and had the place practically to myself. It was clean and quiet, and parking was a breeze. The room is as spacious as an efficiency apartment and the kitchen had everything I would have needed to prepare a meal. Lovely staff made a great recommendation about hiking; the scenery around the hotel is gorgeous and I was happy to have arrived late in the afternoon so I could look around and take photos. Bring food with you from town like I did and you'll be good to go - the place isn't exactly remote but there isn't much else nearby. I would love to stay here again, maybe with more time. GPS with google took me right to the place with no problem.

Great Stay

We stayed here for one night while travelling between Yosemite and Death Valley. It is in a beautiful location out in the middle of nowhere on the Kern River. The room was spacious and had a kitchenette, which you'll want to use unless you eat in town before arriving, as the road between here and town is very twisty on the mountainside and you probably won't want to do it more times than you have to. We enjoyed wandering the trail along the river and photographing the beautiful scenery at sunset. And oh yes, we can't forget the jets! The naval air station flies jets through the valley and they are amazing to see up close.
The large communal deck outside our room was a great place to relax after a day of driving, and it is equipped with several gas grills, a sink for cleaning fish, and cooking utensils. We did laundry, and the helpful woman at the front desk was able to provide us with change to do so. The room was clean, and bed was okay.  We had no cell service, but we did have internet in the room. I would stay here again for the beautiful location.
