Got there in the early afternoon, and no one was at the front desk.  Rang the bell, no one came.  Called the number, and whoever answered hung up on me.  This is not the way to treat paying customers.

Poor Customer Service

Looks nice but rooms are old and tired. Just like the management. Bizarre behavior and lodge is far from town. No sink in kitchenette so dribble fill your coffee in tiny crusty bathroom. Prices are cheap but you get what you pay for. Rivers and some roads were closed because of flooding so check ahead.

Never again

We were looking for an ordinary place to stay in Kernville and accidentally booked into Sequoia Lodge after a mix-up with another hotel. What a wonderful mix-up! For a little extra $ we stayed in Room 17 that overlooks the river. The room was super comfy and well-appointed with charging outlets, air conditioning and a modern pot-belly-style heating source. The kitchenette has all the basics for cooking and taking advantage of the shared bbq area, perched by the river as well. I don't fish but there's a spot to clean catches (or something to do with fishing anyway). The place isn't fancy but thoughtfully put together and spotless. The hosts were really helpful with clearing up the reservation confusion and all-around nice. Def recommend this place. Also, if you plan on visiting the museum in Kernville, it's worth more than a glance, very interesting history (Hollywood movie sets, deliberate flooding for hydroelectricity, pioneer artifacts, etc). 

Lovely surprise on the river

We truly enjoyed our stay. The property is very welcoming. It has plenty of outdoor seating to sit relax and enjoy the sound of the river. We were able to walk to the Sandy river bank. 
The rooms are very clean and spacious. They even had popcorn available in our room. 
The property is managed by friendly people ready to recommend where to go for dinner. We will definitely be going back!

Loved our stay

Traveled to kernville for rafting expedition. Did a 2 night stay at the lodge. Room was clean & cozy. Great that there is a barbecue available for use to cook your dinner. Kitchenette perfect when traveling with family. They even provide microwaveable popcorn! The hosts were very nice & informative! Looking forward to returning & booking room 17 which has a spectacular river view

Family weekend getaway

So happy we stayed here. The owners are fantastic and we can't wait to visit again in the spring. Kernville is an absolute delight and staying here allowed the best of the town and nature. Just what we needed!

Great place

The property is an iconic lodge with very cozy and charming rooms. The staff/owners were so welcoming and friendly- they went out of their way to help us solidify our plans for the National Forest, helped us navigate road closures in the area, and gave us their contact info so we could call if we needed help while on the road or to get info on our next trip up. My wife and I will be stopping by the lodge just to say hi in the future, solely from the experience of our 1 night stay. 10/10 would stay again.

We booked this as midway stop between Pacific Coast and Death Valley.

We booked room 17, for the best views next to the river.

Great host and welcome. The first thing about the room was the very strong smell of cleaning fluid - almost overpowering.  Nice decor but pillows and mattress definitely need updating.  Towels thin. 

Id probably say overpriced to be honest.

It wasnt awful but wouldnt necessarily recommend.  Sorry!

It was ok. Great location. 

This little lodge overlooks a peaceful river. We enjoyed just sitting outside in the morning and watching the birds do their thing by the water. Friendly faces and nice, clean rooms! We were coming in very late from the mountain at night and they were still kind enough to accommodate us when we got in. We were very apologetic of course, but it was still very nice of them to do that for us.  It's not often you find charming places like this. Next time we are passing through we will be stopping by again for sure. Thank you very much for a great stay!

Sweet, peaceful, and comfortable

Clean, updated rooms. Close to river, 5 minutes from town. Right on the road but thers little traffic so totally quiet. Nice Deli/Supply store right across the street, we ate breakfast there both days. Only complaint would be they could use some new mattresses.
