Shocking Shocking Shocking, they need to sort the cleanliness out with the whole place it's dirty it's not suitable for travellers of any type. watch out for false reviews they are not correct... A Very Bad Experience, 

A Very Bad Experience

We booked this retreat, due to the wonderful reviews and pristine photographs. We were very disappointed and we decided to leave without staying. This is a private home, not a hotel. The standard of hygiene is not up to scratch, the decor and furniture is very dated, the room was tiny and the bed dominated. There was a shared bathroom and no tea/coffee making facilities. Very uncomfortable experience. 

Uncomfortable experience, beware of reviews. 

Had a great stay there for three nights and four excellent breakfasts in May. Beautiful location, nice comfortable room in a charming house.  Cannot add much to all the other good reviews beyond stating that I found them to be true.  Looking forward to going back.

Special place in Vermont

My wife and I stayed here for a night and had a wonderful experience. Owners Mike and Barbara were friendly and inviting from the moment we arrived. Bailey, their westie, was a real sweetheart too. We were treated to an elegant second floor room with a pleasant view of the sprawling wooded wetlands. A mountain brook that rolls down the hillside could be heard just outside our window as we dozed off to sleep. Mike was up early to serve us an expertly prepared breakfast complete with fresh fruit, tasty French toast, and award-winning maple syrup. A big thanks to the hosts for a fantastic stay!

Cozy Mountain Getaway

I booked both rooms with a family member for a skiing holiday. I chose MVR because of the fantastic reviews on trip advisor. I do not dispute what visitors have said about the venue, breakfast etc., it seemed a delightful find and we thought we had chosen well. 
However we were appalled one evening when our host’s mood turned very ugly to the point of barely controlled rage. This was brought about by us returning one evening unable to access the main road because of a snow storm. Our car was not a 4WD and could not negotiate the ramp of snow at the junction to the main road. He had said, before we left, if we couldn’t get out he was happy to sort some food for us. A baked potato and cheese, for which we offered to pay. We were extremely uncomfortable and he made some attempt to apologise the next day but it was totally unacceptable behaviour. 
A local person suggested we did a search of the owner on google. We did, and it did not make pleasant reading. 
We have made a full complaint to the Vermont tourist board, who have assured me that it will be taken very seriously.

Unacceptable behaviour 

My husband and I, and our great friends stayed here for two nights, and I cannot say enough good things about our experience! We were warmly greeted when we arrived by Barbara and Mike. The surrounding views were amazing! Their home was cozy and very clean, and so were our rooms and the shared bathroom. Each room boasted beautiful views! Mike was a genuinely caring and attentive host! He was eager to give us tips on what to do in the area, and we were not disappointed! We loved the short hike to the beautiful waterfall! Each night, Mike would greet us when we returned with coffee/tea, even freshly made cookies, and enjoyable conversations! Last, but not least, the breakfasts Mike prepared for us each morning were delicious! We loved the freshly baked banana nut muffins and the continuous coffee refills! We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in this part of Vermont! ❤️

Felt like home!

We spent only one night with Barb, Mike and Bailey. The bed and breakfast is tucked away in the mountains of Killington, Vermont. The hosts are genuinely nice and it is apparent that they truly love what they do. The home is very comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and the conversations enjoyable. Bailey (westie rescue) even gets into the conversations as well. Would recommend the Mountain Valley to anyone visiting Vermont. 

Perfect host and hidden treasure 

I basically never leave reviews of places, but my girlfriend and I had such an amazing time, I had to write something. The place we stayed at was great, but what really made it wonderful was Mike the host. He was such a warm caring person who did everything to make our stay great. He asked us what time we wanted breakfast, then made us a complete, delicious breakfast, the second one he had made that morning since he had already timed the other breakfast around the couple in the other room who woke up 40 minutes earlier. He connected with everyone who stayed and clearly cared about them, and he even made us an afternoon snack and later helped us find the perfect place for dinner. When we got up the next morning, he had cleared off our car from the snow that fell overnight. It was just great service from a great guy. Mike, if you're reading, you could charge well more than you did and we would have been happy to pay it for that level of hospitality.

A wonderful night's stay at an amazing price

We had a great time staying in this beautiful, cozy B&B tucked away from civilization, but close enough to the major highway. The owners are extremely sweet and accommodating, not to mention the delicious breakfast they cooked in the morning.

This was an incredible find - I'll be recommending to all my family and friends!

Best place to stay in the area

Mike and Barb welcomed us into their beautiful home. The location is beautiful and the layout of this B&B. We had a very nice little room where we could hear a stream flowing from. It was almost like sleeping with the beautiful star. Mike was an excellent advisor. He recommended us a beautiful little walk along with a good restaurant. His breakfast was also excellent. If you ever go to this corner of Vermont, stop by and see them, they'll know how to welcome you.
