This is the 2nd time I've stayed at Paradise Shores Hotel and I love it! My fiance and his family have stayed there for 3 generations, so it has a special place in his heart. His grandparents stayed there while they were house hunting in the area, his parents stayed there, and now he and I do! 

Owner is super sweet, hotel is very welcoming, and the view is incredible! The rooms were clean, inviting, and the view was amazing! My fiance was able to go fishing right out the back door of the hotel! The pool has skylights and there's a game room just across the hall. Our last morning we had the chance to have coffee out by the lake and watch the sunrise, it was incredible!

We will be back! See you again!

Weekend getaway

Spent 2 nights at Paradise Shores.  Rooms were very clean, updated pillows/mattress/bedding/bathroom towels and wash rags.  Very nice large pool and spa but unfortunately pool heater was down when we were there.  Very large parking lot.  Owners live right on site so available if you have any concerns.  Breakfast is very basic but doable.  Would definitely stay again.

Very nice independently owned property

My family stayed here years ago for a family reunion, and had enjoyed the stay. However, my recent stay was completely different. When I was given my room, I immediately went to the front desk and mentioned the bathtub was stained brown and asked to be moved. The owner showed me two other available rooms, both with stained bathtubs. I kept my original room, and was told they would attempt to clean it with CLR. That never happened. They told me they had a "water problem". I  wanted to include  a picture of what the drinking water looks like in a clear pitcher. I do not want to drink or bathe in brown water. They came and put a bleach tablet in the toilet to clear the water, but that was not the water I cared about, and it made the place smell like bleach. One of the beds was hard as a rock and crackled when someone moved. The walls in the bathroom were stained. Old, tired and dated. We noticed late one night there was only one other car in the parking lot. After one night, we decided to stay at a much nicer hotel in Ladysmith. Paid for a week, stayed one night and checked out a day early. When I voiced my concerns at checkout, I was told is was even in worse shape then when the new owners bought this spring and they were working on improvements.  I can only state they have a long way to go.

Needs a lot of work

Our family reunions have been held here for the past 10 yrs or so. This August we discovered under new ownership and so certain things have changed as well as remained the same. 

Remaining the same was the overall hotel decor, room decor(s), indoor pool, hot tub and landscape of this hotel.  The free continental breakfast was also very good.   The new owners were also very nice, and did their best to accommodate our group and changed out a room to one of our family members whose room smelled moldy. 

Thngs that did change were no maid service, so no one will be cleaning your room during your stay. Guests, however may pickup any necessities and towels from a cart situated by the front desk) .  The restaurant we loved so much that was adjacent to this hotel is now closed with no hope of reopening any time soon. Also there are many geese that seem to abound around  the property so there is geese poop galore.  That turned us off big time.  

All that said, we will be looking for another family reunion spot for next year.

Paradise shores

We have stayed here multiple times after moving to the area and renovating our home, sometimes calling at the last minute due to issues with the house and they have always found a room for us!  My husband and I have traveled a lot and have stayed at many, many hotels and Paradise Shores are at the top of our list because they don't treat you like just another number they treat you like family!  Thank you Paradise Shores for bestowing such kindness in our time of need!

Avoid! Unclean. Dirty bathroom with used toilet paper behind the toilet, and dead bugs on the floor we cleaned it ourselves. They advertise a late checkout but then tell you they can’t do it. WiFi and cell connections are sketchy at best. Staff is unfriendly and  not knowledgeable. I would NEVER recommend this old and poorly maintained place to anyone. Horrible experience.

Avoid and save yourself some aggravation

Stopped in for a Bllody Mary and some appetizers! Drinks were great not to spicy and cheese curds and beer battered mushrooms were tasty! Sat outside on the patio with a great lake view table and nice setup for social d6!

Great Patio

I was in town on an extended business trip and stayed here at Paradise Shores 4.  Towards the beginning of my stay, the lock downs due to the Corona Virus started to take affect.  The Hotel Manager, Bev, and her staff reassured me that i could stay throughout my reservation.  As restaurants started shutting down and food became hard to come by, Bev went out of her way bring in food for me so that I had dinners.  Thank you Bev for making my stay enjoyable even during troubled times.

Great Place with Great Staff!

We had our wedding at Paradise Shores. We had an overall great experience due to great staff, good food, beautiful location. We could have used an extra bartender during our open bar and didn’t have a wine that we were promised, but overall everything was well executed.

Overall great up north experience

Hotel manager Bev was very attentive and friendly!  Very helpful and eager to provide a comfortable stay!  While the bathrooms could use some updating, this hotel/resort has everything you need!  Pool, whirlpool, game room, restaurant, and continental breakfast.  2 bed room was spacious and comfortable, also included fridge and microwave.  We will definitely be back!  5 minute drive from the Eastbay Lodge where the vintage snowmobile races were held.  Fantastic!
