We had a great week at Cramers. The cabin was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked. We loved the private fire pit and the kids couldn’t get enough of the heated pool. Owners are very attentive and friendly. We can’t wait to come back! 

Cabin in the woods

This was the third time we have stayed here, first time since new ownership had taken over. We stayed in one of the cottages (#21) and it was perfect for a family of 3. It was immediately obvious that updates were made, and everything was very clean. The owner met us at the cottage and was very welcoming. Our cottage had a small fire pit on our private patio, which was a nice new addition. The patio furniture, as well as the pool area furniture, was in excellent condition (not always a given, as I've come to experience at other places). Overall there was plenty of room in our cottage and on the property itself. The beach area is definitely a bonus, but be sure to read the disclaimer as it could be too strenuous of a walk for some (no fault of the owner).
The location is perfect, short drive to the Village or Diamond Point/Bolton Landing, with 2 convenience stores close by. I would recommend Cramers Point to anyone visiting Lake George, and I am looking forward to returning soon.

Excellent place to stay

My family and I finally got to enjoy this place after falling in love with it a couple years ago. Cute and eclectic room and cabin options, many with kitchens. Loved the heated north pool and the shuffle board and hiking down to the Lake access to dip our feet in thew cold lake George water and enjoy the view. Our room was clean and cozy with really nice bedding and set up but still maintaining vintage charm.

Cramer's Point Motel and Cottages is a multi unit facility with motel, one room cottages and a few larger units. It's older. Quaint? Pool.  Waterfront shared with a few private homes. Two beat up rowboats and one canoe. Efficiency. No heat in kitchen area. Space heater in bedroom. Need to keep bathroom door open for it to be warm. Not a place for the fall. Summer is probably better.

Rustic cottage

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! In all of my years of traveling and getaways. This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. Upon arrival, we smelled a strong sewer smell but didn’t think much of it. Once parked, we said our hellos to the friends and families who arrived a day before us. The owner of the property, Frank, stormed towards us at the parking lot and started interrogating us and asking “what are we doing here and why are we offloading all these things?” After telling him we have booked and are going to check in. He then asked us to follow him to the office and to shut the door behind us. Then, suddenly out of no where he started having a breakdown in front of my husband, my 3 year old son, and I. He went off and started yelling at us about how his sewer is backed up and the amount of people in his establishment are putting a strain on the septic system. His face was red and flushed and he was scaring my son. My husband and I were in shock, we just got there and this is the welcome we received from the owner of this establishment! My husband told him that this is not our problem if he overbooked his establishment and instead should be apologizing for the sewer smell. Clearly, he booked out every single room out during the pandemic and there was no social distancing put in place. He started getting more offended and told us not to shower often and flush less. My husband laughed and said “so do you want us not to poop?”

He then asked us about our other friends truck who were here to help us offload. However, he then came up with a bright idea that we should go hang out wherever they booked and not strain his septic system for the night. The funny part is our friends also booked for the following night in this establishment! They also didn’t have a very pleasant check in with Frank’s wife. The couple that run this establishment are nut jobs.

At one point during our check in, we asked Frank “ummm, so do you want us to check in or not?” We were already regretting that we booked there and was debating if we should drive 5 hours back home. We were in such a dilemma because we didn’t know what to do. We came up to spend time with friends and family and obviously we didn’t want to be separated. So my husband and I checked in anyway regardless of how we were mistreated just so that we can spend time with family.

Aside from the check in process, this establishment is disgusting! It’s full of flies and cockroaches. Literally we had to deal with smelling sewer poop, flies, and cockroaches all over the kitchen, toilets, on our blankets, on our children, on our food the whole entire weekend. My kids were stepping on septic water while playing. The whole play area was saturated but he had only barricaded a small section. There is mold in the bathroom tub and floor. There are cobwebs around the bed frames. The pool is not heated so that's false. There is no housekeeping so that is misguided on their website. Frank and his wife are literally the front desk, the housekeeper, the garbage man, the night patroller, and the whole hotel hospitality team.

Most importantly, we were trying to make the best of what we could of despite the horrible hospitality. However, if you plan to sit and lounge outside after 11pm. Don’t come here. Frank was literally pacing back and forth and patrolling the place to make sure no one is talking too loud. This was so ridiculous and I wished I took a video of him doing that. All in all, I would never ever come back here with my friends and family. I would never recommend anyone to come here. Spend your money somewhere else where you don’t get abused like this. We obviously couldn’t make a complain to anyone because they ARE the owners. So here I am letting everyone know what a horrible place this is.

VACATION FROM HELL.... STAY AWAY!

I fell in love with this place, they have a couple of cottages and mostly tiny cabin like rooms , very clean and the owners Frank and Marion are very  accommodating .Room price is reasonable , They have toys and games from toddlers/ teenagers and adults . Two swimming pools , one heated . Volleyball , table tennis , bonfire and most of all lake access which is also a great walk down about 5 mins walk down and a good hike coming back up ! I recommend this to all families especially with kids and mom and dads who’s trying to get rid of their kids tablet for a couple of days .Barbecue and picnic tables across your rooms . I only gave it a four because lake access id not ADA and it’s out of the owners control don’t get me wrong ...

Best place to getaway and quality time with family and friends !

This was our 2nd time staying in the house rental (#12 on their website). First, the owner Frank is great!  Any questions or issues we had he helped with immediately. We had 11 people in the house and had plenty of room. The house is very old which adds to its charm. But if you are looking for new this is not for you. The bathroom doors don’t lock and the walls are thin. You hear everyone moving about. But the pros outweigh the cons. The house had central air that was perfect!!  All the pots, pans, utensils etc. that you could need in the kitchen. Huge deck that we ate dinner on each night. I believe there was seating for 16 people on the deck. Big fridge, great dishwasher, always had hot water for showers, there is a beautiful pool just steps from the house. The walk to the lake was too much for the older folks with us, but everyone else loved it!  Rowboats and a canoe for use at no charge. We would go back. The resort is for sale.... hoping we get to visit again before it is sold. 

Rental of 4 bedroom house

We stayed in the cottages and we went with 10 other people who also rented cottages. We had a great time and the kids loved it. The kids got to use the canoes, played horse shoes, went swimming, and at the end of the night they have a bonfire where everyone can enjoy. Nothing fancy but family friendly and a good time. We also went again with just another couple for adult fun and hit the local bars and restaurants, great fun. Simple pleasures in life.

This was our second year at Cramer’s Point. The owners are friendly and hard working. The grounds are well maintained. We stayed in a cottage which had a well equipped kitchen, living room with a sofa and futon and a bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed. There was a deck with a table and chairs where you could barbecue and eat. It like other cabins in the area is rustic. The room was very clean. There are 2 pools and swings and play areas for children. The area is peaceful and a nice break from the hubbub of town.

poor choice on my part for choosing this location. I should've researched it a little more. There were people staying above our room. To get to the beach requires the strength of a long distance runner. Very hilly location. Clean room.Heated pool
