Friends were vacationing in the Lake
George area and we decided to join them last minute. Looked for lodging near Twin Birches and came across this lovely stop online. The reviews were good, and Forest Lodge and Cabins lived up to them. 

We stayed in a single room, as stunning, rustic—and spotless (b/c that matters big-time)—as pictured on the website. A/C worked well; unit has a heater for cooler nights. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and water pressure good. We enjoyed sitting on the porch outside our room, which overlooked the main road and the woods across the way. Price was extremely reasonable, considering proximity to lake, LG Village and Bolton’s Landing (as well as our friends). If you choose not to drive, a trolley runs every half hour or so up/down the main drag ($1/person/ride each way)

We also had a chance to view the cabins; these were equally clean, rustic and were well-equipped with kitchens, living areas, porches, etc. A large house is also in the property; it sleeps 7 and can be rented year-round. (The other buildings are seasonal.) 
Construction of a gazebo and treehouses-as-lodging are also in the works. 

Other amenities included:
-ample parking near rooms/cabins 

-crystal-clear (non-heated) pool and restful       surround with lots of seating (varied types—wicker sofa under pergola was THE BEST!)

-charcoal grills: one near each of the motel buildings and one/cabin 

-considerate and attentive service,
particularly from Nancy; leaving extra towels outside our door in a basket was such a nice touch!

-WiFi and Smart TV (This was only feature that was problematic, but seems to be more an issue of the entire region vs. only at the venue. I don’t mind not having TV but Hubby does.) 

-mini-fridge and small coffee pot (with fixings :)

Would definitely stay there again!

Lives Up to Reviews—Beautiful & Excellent Value!

My family and I stayed for a few nights recently.  Found it to be clean and the staff was very accommodating.  The kids loved the playground and the pool.  The fire pits outside the cabins was a nice feature.  We will stay again.

Small Family Gathering

This was our second stay at Forest Hills and we enjoyed every minute. Very relaxing environment. Love the fire pit and charcoal grill feature at each cabin. Cabins are comfortable. Wish the showers were a little wider but it's not a big deal.

Very relaxing

It is a nice place in Lake George, NY. We were two families with little children and commuted all the way from Quebec, Canada. We booked this place the last minute despite some concerning low reviews. We took a chance and did not know what to expect before arriving there. 
It is located outside of Lake George but very close to its lovely downtown and major touristy area. It is an uphill resort and offers various types of cottages and rooms. 
We had a very nice two-room cottage that was fully equipped with all amenities from a well-functioning AC, cable TV, high speed internet, etc. The kitchen is very lovely and also quite equipped with fridge. microwave, cutlery of all sorts, etc. It is a place ready to accommodate a family whose kids need to eat something other than junk food. 
The cottage had a porch and a BBQ set, so we were quite at ease in preparing cottage meals and enjoying them with the family outside (when the weather permitted).
The cottage has a parking space just on the side. It is quite an important perk when you have small kids as you don't have to walk far to get to your car every time you need something or every time you needed to go somewhere.
Now it is not the nicest place in town but it will do just right for a quick stay at Lake Georges.

A nice cottage rental spot in Lake George

We stayed in cabins 11 and 10, two bedrooms each at the top of the hill.  Both cabins were clean, and kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and cookware.  Good a/c, VERY  comfortable beds.  Decor was nice.  Pool was open and clean.  Setting is lovely - we saw deer, a fox, hummingbirds and bats!    Firepit  and grill as  advertised.  Plastic adirondack chairs were so flimsy that one shattered when sat on - oops!   A few cons - no wifi at all in these cabins which are too far from the office, TV did not work.  Also check-out is at 10am which seems a bit mean when check-in isn't until 2 (we were turned away and asked to come back in an hour when we arrived at 1), however the manager who greeted us when we did check in was lovely, helpful and friendly (sorry I forget her name).

Lovely setting

Booked for americade.   Staff was great upon arrival.  Room was decently decorated inside. 
My only concern... if you are staying in the lodge section,  it is not favorable to motorcycles.   Or should i say, big heavy ones...lol. very steep incline on entry.
Room was clean, only would have been better to have 4 pillows.

Not bad

While on a motorcycle trip we stayed one night this summer. The motel had everything we needed for a fun night stay, swimming pool, campfire pit & the rooms offered fridge, microwave & coffee maker on a beautiful wooded lot. The road is a little busy out front but the upside is the trolley runs by regularly to town so once you arrive you can park & put the keys away. Many of the restaurants offer delivery if you want to stay in. Marcia the manager was so accommodating delivering firewood, extra towels & recommendations for dinner spots. See you again next summer!

Rustic lodging close to town.

This was our third trip to Forest Hill Lodge and Cabins. My friend and I have stayed both with the old owners and now the new. Marcia was very accommodating, allowing us to check in early and providing us with towels to use for wiping down outside furniture (they came in handy!) It was very quiet as we stayed on a Monday and Tuesday. There was only one other family staying. If you’re looking for peace and quiet choose a weekday. The grounds offer a pool, which was clean, cornhole, firepites, a charcoal grill, a swingset and a small arcade for the kids. The cabins are quaint, and provide kitchen essentials so you can prepare some things. Our cabin was clean and the air conditioner cooled down the whole place. The only reason this didn’t receive a five star review was the pricing. After some research we found comparable cabins for less. It’s a short drive to Lake George Village, so the location is great too.

3rd Annual Cabin Trip

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at Forrest Hills and realized that it had changed ownership. Still a nice place, cabins had showed better renovations and the office is back to where it orginally was inside the actual property near the pool.

If you need a nice place for a weekend get away

I do not usually leave detailed reviews ,but I want others to be prepared..
We booked 2 rooms for the last weekend of Americade September 24 & 25th 2021.
Our stay was disheartening to say the least. 
Room #1 was very musty smelling upon entering. It Had No TV, No Bureau, No Hangers for clothes on the rod attached to the wall.  We had 2 bath towels, 2 wash clothes and 1 hand towel. 
The owners Mom (a very nice person) was nice enough to get us hangers and a few more towels, but said there were No More TV's Available?? 
She said as it was the end of the season it was possible they had started moving stuff out of the rooms to prepare for redecorating.. (if so where was the TV). My question was then "Why did he rent us the room?"
Upon further investigation we discovered there was a coffee pot but no cups or coffee and there was No Hot water in the sink, although there was hot water in the shower.
Room#2 was slightly better. It did have a TV and a Bureau, No musty smell, but a different smell we couldn't put our fingers on. No coffee or cups in this one either.
We later discovered the "Different Smell" was the Garbage left from the pervious occupants (Clean much ??)
I reached out to the owner multiple times about our issues but never got a response. 
The down town trolley, which they have listed a convivence that can be picked up right out front of the establishment, only runs certain times of the year which is Not listed on the site.
Also the driveway and parking that we had was not conducive for Motorcycles at all, so be warned if riding...
