Room was anything but clean. The bathroom was particularly bad......a hair clump around the shower drain and both sink and toilet had not been cleaned. The floor in the room had gritty sand the minute we walked in. I know they use sand for snow reasons but the floor should be clean when you first walk in....it was not.

Have stayed twice....no more

We’ve been repeat customers for years of this motel. Always liked the location, the cleanliness and most of all the family in person attentiveness. On this trip, we were disappointed. No microwave, no hairdryer, carpets needed cleaning or replacement, and difficult to get a hold of anyone. Maybe this will be a wake up call to the owners? This place has a lot of potential. Just needs some loving care.

Disappointed

The room had such potential, but I have never seen such a dirty carpet before.   Was down right gross!

There were Keurig coffee pods but no Keurig machine to make a cup of coffee.  Tried contacting management about the situation, but got no response. 

Bed was very comfortable, linens were great!

The door was not secure, one hefty shove, and someone could easily break inside

- Keyless entry, you are emailed a link to the electronic key. We went to breakfast and our ‘key’ checked us out with our luggage still in the room.
-There is no manager or owner on site. Tried several phone numbers on line and finally got a manager who was so defensive and rude. I tried to explain our issues and he said technology sometimes fails. He also did not care much about the bathroom issues below. Maybe he was having a bad day (as I was not being able to get into my room). He said that I ‘clearly wanted something and what did I want’. Being business owners ourselves, we try to inform another business Owner of shortfalls, but the attitude is what caused me to write this review. It wasn’t about refunding me 50%, it was making them aware. While trying to explain my frustrations the owner would just over talk me. 
-They certainly did not appreciate my business. 
-So be prepared there is no one on site to help you except whenever housekeeping shows up. 
-We had to walk around to find housekeeping who let us into our room without even verifying it was actually our room. Now onto the room. 
 -Poor maintenance in the room. Toilet seat was so loose it was sliding off the toilet. 
-Bolts were so loose we could hand tighten them which helped tighten the seat a little. If housekeeping was appropriately cleaning there is no way they could have missed this. 
-Toilet was leaking a lot of water out of the bottom. Had to use our towels to mop it up as well as the bath mat. 
-while they did have a Kuerig in the room, the K cups were decaf. 
-FYI, could hear the guests on both sides of our room. 
-The pool looked nice, it was right on the lake, looks like they had kayaks and canoes.
 

No on site manager/owner, Keyless entry issues, poor room maintenance

Stayed for two nights in a king bed lake view room - comfy bed, clean bathroom, slightly run down carpet, but clean. Only complaint was hearing other guests at night outside or in their rooms due to thin walls and windows. Enjoyed the digital check in. Great place to stay on the lake.

We canceled our reservation due to poor weather conditions no refunds. I did call and cancel as well as canceling thru the booking agent. Therefore I cannot rate this property as we did not get to The hotel.

We had a wedding nearby and booked 1 night stay at Placid Bay Hotel. We were able to grab key and get right up to our room. The room was clean and modern. Alexa, big screen tv, super soft fluffy towels. I was happy to see black make up wash clothes available too. We want to return again in the warmer weather and take advantage of the free use of their canoes and kayaks. Highly recommend. 

Short Stay for a Wedding

This property is beautiful, the room was the cleanest ive stayed in, the view was amazing it felt so cozy and the staff was great, only downside id say is there was one firepit that was being used by the same group for the entire time we were there and it would have been great to have another firepit that we could use as well but thats it everything was perfect

Outstanding

Country Comfort Cottage...mixed bag,  We (two couples) spent two nights at Placid Bay Hotel.  The cottage was a disappointment: furniture was dirty and worn.  I felt like I was in an old ADK camp.  There were only three chairs for the kitchen table, we used a bar chair for the 4th chair.  The kitchen wasn't equipped well.  There weren't enough, plates, glasses, bowls, utensils, etc.  Beware, one small bathroom (good shower) and tiny sink for the entire cottage.   We didn't have pillow cases until the second night after we asked the second day.  Beware, no one staffs the front desk nor picks up the phone in the evenings.  One plus, the mattresses were very good and if this particular cottage was fixed up, it would be nice.

Also, the ground were in a disarray.   We looked forward to using the firepit, but it was uninviting with a wheelbarrow full of trash parked next to the chairs all weekend.  There was a portable air-conditioning unit left on our porch and a Weber grill next to it, with a kitchen fork in the ash catcher...we could have used the fork ;).

I will say the staff was very nice.  When we finally were able to get in touch with them, they gave us more pillow cases and were very apologetic.  They also gave us a 50% discount...thank you.

If we go back, we will try another cottage or room.

Country Comfort Cottage...mixed bag, 

Loved this stay! Rooms are cozy yet modern and a great location in walking distance to everything you might need. Very easy check in/out. The backyard view of the lake is stunning. Would highly recommend.
