worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Against my wishes I’ve had to stay here twice. Both occasions I’ve witnessed an arrest. People screaming and yelling at each other and slamming doors, even had someone next door to me kick a door in. Dogs barking for hours on end, for them to do absolutely nothing until I walked down and told them i was gonna call animal control if I didn’t get a refund. I’ve called the office and complained multiple times only to be completely ignored. There are also bugs everywhere, mold in the fridges and bathrooms… toilets hardly flush, tvs don’t work right…. Just awful. Truly the worst place I’ve ever had to stay in my life. I spent 2 weeks here and I’d give anything for the 900 back. I wouldn’t spend another dime on this place.

We booked room and upon check-in we were watched by approximately 30 people drinking shooting fireworks. They were looking in our trailer at what we had. The outdoor lights was only in front. Where we would have to park was dark. We have never had this happen and have stayed at 11 motel 6 in the last month. Needless to say feeling unsafe we did not stay.  AVOID THIS ONE.

Moving

On Friday June 24, 2022 my husband and I were booked to spend the night at this Motel 6 Lawrence KS.  We have stayed there twice before and were satisfied.  So we thought we’d book it again.  What a huge mistake.  When we pulled into the parking lot there were 15 or more people milling around outside.  It was a very hot evening, these people were rough looking, the lobby doors were propped open.  The Lobby was hot and messy.  There was no one at the desk.  I looked around. No one.  I used my phone to call the hotel from the lobby hoping someone would show up.  No one ever did and meanwhile these unkempt people kept wandering in and out.  I went back out and told my husband we are not staying here. 
We ended up at the Econolodge in the same town that was clean and secure 
Something is seriously wrong at this motel 6. It is an unsavory place and I’d recommend no one ever consider staying there

Terrible

I had read some good reviews but sadly can’t rate as high as those. The good: convenient location right off the highway, staff very friendly and room was clean. The bad: they are obviously in the process of renovating so that will have its issues for awhile while they get things done. First room I had the door wouldn’t shut if you went out so I was able to change rooms. Second room was spacious had an outdated, torn couch. No shower curtain and I soon found out why- the shower didn’t work. There was also a smoke detector beeping all night. I was tired so slept through it. Nose does carry a bit as second floor is a balcony style. Maybe give them a few months to get renovations done and it will be good.

Friendly people iffy rooms during renovations

You can always pay more for your lodging but nothing beats an updated Motel 6 w/ easy to clean floors and a comfy bed. Manager CC is clearly on top of the "brand" that is Motel 6. The staff work very hard and have a family vibe. A clear vision of their Manager CC.  Nothing is perfect but given how hard it is to have a staff these days along w/ a flawless stay at this location this Motel 6 earns the Tripadvisor "Excellent" review.

Even without a pandemic going on you would expect a certain level of cleanliness.  Employees smoking at front door with no mask in sight.  Stains everywhere in halls and the tub, like out of a bad movie. 

Stay away

This place is a must stop if you are traveling with pets.  Its a newer hotel, so it's pretty nice inside the room.   Everything was clean both times.  Staff was very friendly and helpful both times.  

The bed is well above average for Motel 6's!!! MUCH MUCH BETTER!!!! Thank you!!!!  Really that is why we stopped by again on the way home.  We knew it was clean and had good beds.  

My only.... moderate suggestion is that on the way home, the second night,  our room was very clean but someone had sprayed some perfume type product around the room and it was VERY STRONG and my  husband was sneezing all night from it.   Please tell housekeeping to use that stuff a little more sparingly!   

Look forward to returning on our next trip.

So good we stayed a second night!

We had to unplug the fridge as it was leaking water all over. Large clumps of dog hair in the bathroom. I left something in the room and I called several times to help locate and no one ever knew I had called already several times. I stopped trying due to there rudeness. Good side they said the cops patrol every hour and I didn’t have any or see any shady stuff.

Cheap and not having mr car broken into was good.

We were in Lawrence for a high school graduation. We always see this place off of interstate and the price was right so I booked it. When we first arrived there was no staff at the desk so my husband walked down the hall to find someone. I think the front desk help also cleans the room. She was very welcoming and kind. The rooms are spacious and look remodeled. They seem to have maintenance issues-like ice machine doesn’t work. It’s a pain when the kind lady at the desk has to clean rooms, check people in and distribute ice. We had it booked 2 nights, but changed our second night to another hotel. 

Friendliest staff around

It was a good night's rest. No frills, but a big and comfortable room with a fold out couch. Difficult to find and not enough signage though. Conveniently located close to the interstate and also from downtown Lawrence.
