Spur of the moment trip to Lake Michigan over hot Labor Day weekend. Felt lucky to find a place, it's still busy this time of year. This is an older lodge and the rooms are what you'd expect size wise from a building of this age.   It appeared to be well  maintained. There's a patio to enjoy your morning coffee and view the golf course.  Our room was clean and comfortable. It's a quiet place. Easy walk into cute Fish Town or go toward Lake Leelanau. They did have bikes too. We had good food and service at the restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

Just returned from another GREAT stay at the Leland Lodge!  Highly recommend this if you're in the area.  The staff is wonderful, lodge is comfortable and the spacious rooms are CLEAN!  The restaurant has a nice selection of meals, but the mac and cheese is THE BEST!!!  We are looking forward to our next visit to the lodge.

Love This Place!

We stayed on a Friday night. The location is fantastic, we were upgraded from a queen to a king room even though we had booked last minute. The lodge has a very up north lodge feel but also cozy. Rooms are very nice, though they are not new they are very clean, and include a coffee maker, fridge and microwave, also two cookies! Bed was nice and soft.
Also included are bikes, we arrived later and when we left it was raining but this was a great bonus.
We will be returning!

Excellent Stay

We just returned home from another Wonderful stay at The Leland Lodge.  The staff is great and the room was clean and spacious.  We ate there twice and had wonderful meals each time (my favorite was the huge portion of mac & cheese :))  We are looking very forward to returning soon.

GREAT Place!!

We just returned from a winter weekend getaway with a large group here.  I cannot say enough about The Leland Lodge, and how comfortable we felt staying here.  

Perfect location.  Extremely clean! The lodge feels like a lodge, and just adds to that "up north chill vibe".  Lots to do from corn hole, to a big connect 4, lots of games, a sled hill outside the door.  They set up a coloring station for the kids, and a little theatre area as well.   The attention to the little details is what I loved, from real coffee cups and wine glasses in your room, to water, pop, juice boxes, hot chocolate, coffee,  home baked muffins in the morning and cookies in the afternoon.  We had the entire resort booked, and arranged a dinner one night and breakfast another.  The food was fantastic.  We felt so catered to in every sense of the word.

We had a King room.  Beds are very comfortable, the room is  equipped with a fridge, microwave, keurig, robes, ironing board, iron, blow dryer, and a make up mirror I wanted to take home.  

We arrived a day late because of a snow storm near our home, and were worried if we did not make it at all we would lose our deposit, but Brian assured us they would have worked with us as the winter storm we encountered was not our fault in making it up there.  He was so accommodating in every way.  

I felt very at home at this resort.  We will absolutely return in fact trying to figure out dates as I'm typing this.

Perfection!

We really enjoyed a quick overnight trip here.  It was a last minute decision and the reviews here helped us decide to stay at the Lodge.  I concur with many that this was a really nice place to stay.  We were lucky enough to get an upgraded room and we got to see the murphy beds as a result, which we think some younger family members would enjoy the novelty of.  We enjoyed  the large room layout, the balcony, and being able to take a quick walk into town.  The "up north" feel was cozy and made it feel even more like fall in Michigan. If we'd had more time there we would've enjoyed some of the other perks like bike rental, museum entry, etc.  Hopefully we can do that another day. 
 DH really enjoyed the cookies and muffins (I'm gluten free so couldn't try them, but the coffee was pretty good).  I was able to eat safely at the restaurant for dinner, though, and they made sure we had a table available when we returned from our walk.  All around it was a great detour and we look forward to returning in other seasons.

Cozy detour

Excellent hotel and helpful staff.  Rooms are big and very clean.  Great location to town, walking distance to everything.  Cozy lobby area, fresh chocolate cookies everyday for free!  We have eaten at the restaurant before but not on this trip and it was good.  The hotel is also a short walk to a small nice beach on Lake Leelanau.  Beautiful views from that beach.  We also received a free 2 night stay during the off season.  Can’t say enough good things about this hotel.  Price is very reasonable as well.

Fall trip to the center of the universe

Back here for the umpteenth time in last 50 years. This is the grandest we’ve seen this grand lady. While maintaining its northern Michigan vibe, it has clearly moved into the 21st century. 

Brian and staff have added amenities found in grand hotels: bikes, great food, gloriously flowered grounds, wine and cheese bar, and wonderful service. 

This is, once again, a wonderful destination for Leland travels.

Return Visit

We've been to Leland before but always stayed in Traverse City.  After COVID, we wanted to do something different, yet still looking for a place that would be quiet and not so crowded.  Found the Leland Lodge on line and decided to give it a try.  We're so glad we did.  
When we arrived, Brian met us and offered us an upgrade to a larger room which we gladly accepted.  Very comfortable bed, clean, roomy, and quiet, even though we were near the stairs and above the office area.  The chocolate chip cookies on arrival were to die for - reminded us of years ago getting fresh baked chocolate chip cookies at a Macy's department store when we lived in Kansas City.  And the blueberry muffins in the morning were also so fresh, chewy and tasty.  
Location is great - off the beaten path but an easy walk into town for Fishtown and other neat things to see.  
Our only disappointment, and not the fault of Leland Lodge, is that when we wanted to get on the road toward home the second morning by 8 am, there was no place in Leland to get a breakfast.  The only breakfast restaurant open doesn't open until 9 and we needed to leave before that.  At least the muffin and coffee held us until we could find a place in Glen Arbor.
All in all, a delightful way for us to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary.

First time, but hopefuly not the last

The Cove’s prices were high so we looked for an alternative and found The Leland Lodge. We had a great lunch with good beer for much less. My wife had the walleye chowder. The server was very friendly. Highly recommended.
