It's Pellston, a nothing town in the middle of nowhere, I feel like if you're going to go here, you better hope that it's necessary, when I got into the hot tub, someone turned on the bubbles, it wasn't bad at first but then my eyes started to burn. My family and I get back to our room and my brother is on the floor sobbing from the burning pains. I don't ever want to come back here or have anything to do with Pellston.

Consider Petoskey instead

Clean and friendly staff, a nice place to stay after a late flight in to Pellston. They are 2 minutes away from the airport and will even pick you up and shuttle you to/from the airport terminal.

Although it was clean, the Pellston Lodge is a little dated with old wallpaper, tile, and carpet. But again, comfortable and seems to be well managed with a friendly staff.

My only complaint was the breakfast. Bread, bread, muffins, cereal, bagels, pancakes and old French bread, and more bread. No fruit. Cream cheese (which was labeled “keep refrigerated”) was not refrigerated. There were some sketchy hard boiled eggs on ice, but my gut said no way. The sausages in the heater looked questionable as well. Oh, and styrofoam and plastic utensils. Ugh. Come on guys! There are a lot of snacks and candy you can purchase. 

I’d stay here again if I had to, it was quaint and nice. Well managed and friendly people.

Clean & Cozy, Breakfast Boooo

Being a frequent traveler to northern Michigan, I know what the average hotel cost is in either Mackinaw City or Petoskey. If you want a clean room, with a comfy bed, nice breakfast, and friendly staff, at a reasonable price, the Pellston Lodge is a great option.

Nice Property at a Reasonable Price

We stayed at the Pellston Lodge from July 15-19, 2022 and paid an average of $189/night before taxes,  For that price, one would expect decent towels, clean carpets, comfortable mattresses and water that is not yellow and smells like sulfur.  Instead, the hotel has not upgraded any of these in years and our stay was most uncomfortable.  I will look elsewhere next year!

Not worth the money

Delta cancelled and rebooked our flights to Detroit/Pellston for our trip to Mackinac Island on our way to Cleveland Hopkins Airport, then delayed four times in one hour due to weather.  We spent 10 hours at the airport and would miss the last ferry to the Island.  We called Pellston Lodge from Detroit and Hailey was so kind and said there was a room available and to call as soon as we had our luggage in hand and she would come and pick us up.  (No UBERS in that area).  We called from the airport and Hailey picked us up and took us to the hotel.  We got a room on the first floor and breakfast the next morning. Hailey also gave us the phone # for Mackinac Shuttle and told us when to call so we had transportation to the ferry the next morning and then back to the airport at the end of our trip.  Hailey saved what was a horrible day for us and gave us peace of mind for that night.  Thank you Hailey. Your kindness will ALWAYS be remembered!  You are awesome!

Kindness!

If I had paid the going rate of most other hotels within 50 miles of this one, I'd probably be writing an angry review. But because we were able to get in for a good deal less than $100, I'll give it a very good rating. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The lobby was warm and inviting. The room was clean. The beds were adequate. Everything worked. The breakfast was not haute cuisine, but you wouldn't expect that. The pool and hot tub looked inviting, although we didn't bring swim suits. The only negative - and a suggestion for improvement - would be the smell. The cleaning solution used by the hotel was the same one that's used in most nursing homes, and it was pretty thick. I would recommend a different brand.

Good For The Money

Thank you Krista and Justin for outstanding customer service. Very friendly, personal and extra accommodating! 
They were willing to do whatever it took to offer us a pleasant stay. I was also very impressed that this small hotel would get up early to set up a hot breakfast at 5:00am to accommodate for those catching their complimentary shuttle over to the airport for 6:30 am flight. Hot coffee, tea etc in lobby for a warm welcome. Rooms are a bit dated and worn but spacious and clean. Customer care at it's BEST! Keep it up... people really do notice and appreciate your efforts.

Great Service!

Stayed here one night before an early flight out from Pellston Airport. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Room was clean, just outdated. Location was great right across the highway from the airport.

Outdated but nice

The hotel was run down for what they were charging.  The bathroom was and tub was rusted, bad enough that I chose to shower. The soap was rancid, the towels were like rags thread bare.  The bed was not great but ok. I will not say more and I am sorry I usually don't give this kind of review.

One of the worst hotel rooms that I have ever stayed in

The customer service was the worst of any hotel I've ever stayed in.  The front desk was not at all helpful or willing to help accomodate us.  Our family will never stay at this hotel again and I would discourage anyone else from staying there!
