Wonderful view of the Penobscott Bay area. Rooms are decent and very well maintained. Staff there is wonderful. Room temperature for both seasons (warm/cool) are very good. Have been here a few times and had a wonderful experience time there. Beds and chairs are comfy.  

Trip to New England Maine at Fall Foliage 

Our hosts were FABULOUS! Friendly, helpful and full of wonderful recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants. The room was cute, CLEAN, well maintained. Can I say CUTE again? The ambiance of the place was worth the visit. Flowers everywhere, beautiful setting.

Loved it!

This place was a haven--like returning home. After a couple of bad nights on the road, my friend and I booked 2 rooms at Mount Battie. They were fresh (they even smelled really clean), totally scrubbed, and airy. The hosts were kind and welcoming--very personal touch. I felt safe and the location was scenic--lots of flowers. The beds were comfortable and the bonus delicious baked goods were really homemade. I was sick on our last day, and Chris helped me get my stuff out of the room. Not a high tech place, though wi-fi was available.  I highly recommend it and will stay there again.

Nice place to stay,pretty setting,lovely gardens.very friendly hosts .comfortable rooms.close to the shore and shopping and very near the beach.Nice breakfast offered in the morning.i would recommend staying there.

Comfortable

From the time we first made our reservation and had the best phone conversation with Christine we knew we had booked the right place.  The husband and wife team, Ed & Christine, are such personable, pleasant, and hard working people.  The Inn is quaint, comfortable, and inviting.  Never have we had the owners of an inn deliver fresh backed goods to our room in the evening.  Most delicious muffins and breads we've had in ages.  We definitely recommend you stay at Mount Battie Inn!

Wonderful Experience at Mount Battie Inn

Old Time Atmosphere. The Mount Battie Inn was perfect! In the center part of Maine for daily trips to explore all of Maine. A comfortable spacious room with great view and all amenities you want PLUS! You will be pleased with this choice! STAY HERE

Fantastic stay with Old Time cozy feel!

This is such a warm and welcoming place. I was having trouble with my computer when trying to book and had to call for a reservation. The owners Ed and Christine were both so helpful during the call, recommending restaurants, activities, and attractions in the area. The we arrived, it was like returning to a friend's home for a visit. We were able to check in early and they provided lots of information about the area, The property is well maintained and beautifully landscaped with gardens, hanging flower baskets, which we loved! We can't wait to stay again.

Outstanding!

We have stayed at Mount Battie for many years and always find it like coming home.  EVERYTHING in the rooms has ALWAYS been immaculate and well cared for and that (no surprise!) was the case again this year.   The rooms are airy and cheerful and we LOVE the fact that there is a good-sized "dorm fridge" in the room ~ so handy for us traveling to and from a cottage farther north. Through the years, Ed and Christine have been wonderfully welcoming and they are like family away from  home for us.  They work very hard and it's always  evident in the rooms and property.  'Looking forward to our 2023 stays!

Like Home

The rooms are nice and the private entries to the rooms are interesting but I was a bit surprised by this arrangement. Indeed, the door to the rooms is clearly shown in the pictures but I was expecting a typical Bed and Breakfast. 

The price was quite reasonable and the room was clean. The owner was quite helpful getting me a spot in a decent local restaurant, as well. 

I was expecting a B & B type experience, as I was on a one-day business trip through the area and would have preferred to chat with other travellers in the morning. Next time, I may have to pay the higher price that typical inns offer but this place was good if you are on a budget.

Upscale motel-style inn

We stayed at this motel for one night as it was on the way back from Acadia natn'l park. When we entered the lobby to check in as we got there, there was no one there. We waited a couple of minutes and a man came out of his confines. This was one of the owners of the motel. He was a bit cold and unwelcoming but not anything terrible. We checked in and another man led us up to our room. To say the least it was very outdated. The TV looked like it was from the 80s. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. However it was clean apart from the crusty air conditioning that hasen't been cleaned in years, and the smashed insects on the wall.  When the guy was showing us the room, he said for breakfast, the other owner bakes all day and at night she brings baked goods for breakfast. this was a bit odd. Finally at 8ish a nice lady knocks on our door and hands out our breakfast. It was a  very small bag not enough for breakfast. The contents included a miniature muffin and a slice of some cake. But let me tell you it was amazing. She needs to upon a bakery. We slept ok, then at check out, we read on the website that at check in there was supposed be like a free gift. So we asked the manager about it and he said it was meant for the ladies. In a annoyed tone, he said take one. overall, not coming again. would not recommend.
