Gathered for a girls weekend, total blast! Incredible location, great rooms, breakfast spread & pleasant staff.
We had a great dinner down stairs in the old speakeasy, very cool. 
Great fire pit and a perfect porch for evening cocktails. Will be returning!

Girls Weekend

Nice, well run inn with water views in Little Compton.  Our room in the barn building was modern and very large.  Breakfast and wine/cheese pre-dinner were very good.  No on-site restaurant but good options in the nearby town
or Tiverton.  We brought in food and drinks from a local restaurant and enjoyed the room, balcony, and water views.  

Service was great, particularly Olivia.  Thanks for getting the fire pit going on a cold and windy night.

Second time to the Inn. Love the new amenities added- breakfast, wine and cheese, fire pit with s'mores,   bikes to use, nice bottle of wine waiting in the mini fridge. A beautiful historic inn with a view of a pond with swans and a short walk to a small private beach.  A quiet place to recharge and enjoy the nearby farms and wineries and beaches. Stayed in Star - love the private balcony and sunny room, comfy bed and nice linens. Connie was so welcoming and a great resource for things to do in the area. Can't wait to return!

Luxe getaway

Its such a peaceful place with such an accommodating staff and the manager Olivia was outstanding in assisting us with all the amenities. The room was perfect and between the breakfast and the nightly firepit beginning and ending the days of walks to the close beach, bicycle rides and just enjoying the atmosphere of views of the Point and the Lighthouse were wonderful.

Little Compton is still basically the same town that my parents grew up in the 1920's and my grandfathers who were both lighthouse keepers a rare gem in the fast and furious world.

Only opportunity is to get the historic restaurant open again.

We will be visiting again soon with our children and grandkids to get away for a few days to let them enjoy a piece of the good old days.

Outstanding staff and peaceful

My girlfriend were lucky enough to stay in the king suite here this last Saturday, 5/14/22.

For starters, check in time was scheduled for 3pm. However we received a call from the front desk 2 houtrs early letting us know our room was ready and we could check early if we were in the area. Impressive.

Check in was a breeze, with the friendliest front desk clerk I've ever met. She showed us to our sweet and gave us some history on the building.

Our room was right next to check in, and the suite looks EXACTLY as it does in the pictures. Super clean, quiet with a fridge and nice mounted flat screen tv with enough channels to keep me entertained. 

The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The beach is literally a 5 minute walk away.

The only heads up is that there is nothing in Old Compton. I forgot to bring a jacket or sweatshirt and seeing that it was chilly and we wanted to sit by the fire at night, I needed one. There is no mall, Target, WalMart, etc anywhere near by. I was lucky to get the last XL hoodie at the really cool general store, otherwise we would have had to stay in the room all night.

This is a 5 star location. Pricey, but worth every penny.

5 star staff, location and room

The Stone House Inn is situated in a gorgeous location, beautiful natural surroundings tucked away from any bustle. Our room was amazing, with a screened in balcony that overlooked both a pond and the ocean., and we could could hear the waves. The room also was decorated beautifully and featured a deep soaking tub,  fireplace, super comfy bed and sitting area. A rare find of luxury without the hype that usually goes along with it. And Nick, performed his many duties (host, tour guide, conversationalist) exceptionally, going above and beyond with filling any and all requests.

Beautiful gem

There has never been a better experience in my life when it comes to guest service. I planned a birthday event for 10 girls and Nick and team went above and beyond. Not only did Nick help me organize a private dinner and lunch but his attention to our needs was amazing. The girls are still raving about it. They felt so special and that was really what it was all about! Thank you Nick and everyone at The Stone House because of you I had a great birthday and experience.

No better service

We stayed 1 night with family for a nice quiet get away.  We enjoyed the charming and cozy accommodations in our oversized sweet with a gas fireplace .  The staff was courteous and friendly . The weather was perfect for a short walk to the beach and than hanging out in the Adirondack  chairs  on the impeccable grounds . Will definitely visit again and would recommend to family and friends !!

fall getaway

My husband and I  have had such a terrific vacation at the Stone House for the past two summers so we decided to return again this year.   Once again, our expectations were exceeded.   We stayed in the spacious and quiet  Sisson suite which has lovely views overlooking the ocean.   We enjoyed the delicious breakfast, including homemade muffins, on the verandah with its water views.   Little Compton has so many activities to offer--biking, swimming at one of several stunning beaches, tennis, farm stands, a vineyard, and some outstanding restaurants in nearby towns.   An added benefit is that Newport is only a 40 minute drive.  This was our first travel since the COVID outbreak and we were somewhat nervous.  However, we felt very safe at the Stone House--guests and staff wore masks inside, all surfaces were cleaned regularly, and the Inn and the town offer a tranquil and spacious environment in which to social distance.  Most of all, we appreciated the efforts of Corey, the General Manager, and his staff to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

Beautiful seaside haven!

We stayed here many years ago (as in 20), and were underwhelmed.  Earlier this summer, when our home in Little Compton had some plumbing and electricity breakdowns, we called the Stone House to see if they were open and if they had any vacancy.  Not only did they find us a room, but we were able to arrive early due to our circumstances.  When we arrived, we were fed the breakfast that we'd missed, and when we were shown to our room, I was in SHOCK!  Gone was the tiny room with the floral wallpaper-- were were in an enormous, light-filled, beautifully decorated suite (though this is not what they refer to as a suite-- I think this room, Warren, is a "standard room" -- but believe me, it was a suite by any other standard).  Everything was so comfortable.  We were told that complimentary "light fare" was included in an incredibly reasonable rate (similar to what we paid 20 years ago).  This light fare consisted of several courses of dinner, lovely wine and cheese, homemade cookies (our daughter scored a few extra), and later, a s'mores kit to sit by the fire pit.  Now that everything is up and working at our place in Rhode Island I keep looking for an excuse to go back.  I can't recommend it enough.
