I have driven by this place a few times over the last 40 years and have always wanted to stop in when time allowed. We have been to several hot springs in Montana/Wyoming and this one was- by far- the most disappointing experience we have ever had. On the plus side, everyone from the manager to the cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. But the place is decades past a well needed $$$ upgrade. In both the pool and camping/cabin areas, only about half of the sinks and showers worked (and some of the showers were cold water only). The small indoor pool was at 101-104 degrees (and in dire need of some spiffing up), but the big outdoor pool was only 84 degrees. NOT a 'hot' springs experience. The food was mediocre (while the prime rib wasn't tough, it was a long way from tender). Note to the owner- dump a pile of cash into the place if you want to be around for another 10 years, as I can't see people putting up with the condition of the resort much longer. We certainly will never return.

Very disappointing

Hot Spring itself was simple and comfortable. Not fancy, but then I wasn’t expecting that. But I will say that I’ve used to outhouses that smelled better than the bathrooms here. Also, they apparently do a nudist thing on Sundays if that is something you are into.

Pools were nice. Bathrooms disgusting.

I have been going to Lolo Hot Springs for around 35 years now and I am constantly surprised at the way the staff will go out of their way to accommodate me.  Sometimes  I am a handful but they always greet me with such warmth, I feel like part of the family.  Early last month two friends and I were leaving in a snowstorm when our car went off the road and got stuck.  We were seven miles from the springs in the middle of nowhere and with no cell reception.  It was dark and also the first night negative degree weather was expected.  One friend started walking back to the Hot Spring, while the other and I were attempting to dig the car out of the snow bank it was stuck in.  
  Somehow the car locked on us while still running and my dogs were trapped inside.  We decided to hitchhike back to the Springs so we didn't freeze to death.  Luckily we got a ride.  
  Once at the springs we were able to find a tow truck but we had to wait for an hour.  The manager let us stay warm, gave us a ride back to the car and then gave my dogs and I a ride home.  Total trip was over two hours for him and never charged gas or anything.  Not to mention, the two hours he spent entertaining us and allowing us to stay warm.  I don't think he got home until 5 in the morning.  It is rare to find such attentive, kind and generous service anywhere.  The pool is cleaned daily, the hot pool is always a perfect temp and the warm pool is a perfect place to swim laps in a snow storm.  The camp grounds are scenic and the cabins are a good value.  I like the restaurants quality and there are often fun concerts or other entertainment at Lolo Hot Springs. I would recommend it to anyone.

The Manager Saved us in a snow storm.

We stayed over night Thursday to Friday in the nicer cabin that has its own bathroom. Cabin was clean, no complaints there. The biggest issues were costumer service. When we checked in the old lady just gave us the key and breakfast vouchers and basically tried to send us
On our way and she was watching TV when we got there so it took a minute for her to knowledge us. We had to ask all the questions and she made us feel like an inconvenience.  My booking said breakfast was included but when we got up in the morning the restaurant said it didn’t open until 10am and same with the pools. Well check out is at 11am. So we waited around until 10am restaurant still closed, went over to pool house to ask. The man there said oh idk I have like a sack lunch we give people but I only have one. So he tried called the restaurant and other phone numbers to get a second sack lunch. After five or minutes of no success we decided to just leave and go to town for breakfast. He didn’t offer any type of compensation.  So Much for breakfast being included and nothing opens till 10 am there. On another  note there was a broke down travel trailer parked behind our cabin with a husky tied to the back bumper. That dog was a shortest tie out, it couldn’t have been more than 8ft and he was barking and whining.

Poor customer service

I loved my stay at Lolo Hot Springs! We rented the economy bungalow #14 with a queen bed for a night which came with 2 tickets to the hot spring. The check-in process was slightly confusing only because there is a business located on the same property called "The Lodge" at Lolo Hot Springs so we went there first. After we realized we were supposed to check-in at the hot springs office itself the process was easy. We got our wristbands for the pools and our key to our cabin.  Everyone we met, Sherrie at the hot springs office and Amanda at the bar/restaurant, were incredible and we honestly had the best time with them during our albeit short stay. 
The hot springs itself was so great, they have an indoor pool option which was hotter, and an outdoor pool. We were here in late September so the outdoor pool was only around 90 degrees, but it was a nice contrast from the very hot pool inside. 
The cabin met our needs, it was so cute, bed was comfy, fridge for any food or drinks you bring with you, a microwave, heater, and a little table. The public restroom/shower facilities are great, similar to a camp restroom but everything worked, and it had a code for privacy from any random people not staying there. For the price, it was really a steal!
This place is rustic there's no doubt about it, so if you go in with those expectations they will be met (or exceeded in our case!) This isn't a five star spa and we didn't want it to be. They expect you to unplug and relax while you're here which we definitely did. The staff onsite really make this place; friendly folks who aren't afraid to chat with a few out of towners looking for a fun experience outside Missoula. 
I 100% recommend Lolo Hot Springs Resort, and if I'm ever in this part of the country anytime soon I'll try to stay for longer :)

LOVE LOLO

rented 1 of the 4 cabins (#1). Bed is nice. Good outdoor surroundings. Refrigerator only freezes. Flooring peeling up. Bathroom toilet is ready to fall through the floor. Ista hot water works but the regulator was out of it- made for a challenging shower. Hot spring and pool facility a bit dated but pretty nice. Restuarant was excellent for bar food-we liked it. Had lots of outdoor activities available. Nice location but avoid the cabins.

stop in route home

I wasn't expecting much from this place, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and clean.  The food at the restaurant was excellent.  No it's not high end, and it seems to be kind of a biker place.  The hot springs were very nice.  However, I'd really prefer something outside. We thought about going to the public springs next door which is outside but decided to just use what we had at the resort.  It's very quiet out there. I was happy there wasn't any noise at night. No rowdy guests.  They had places to stay outside and grills if you wanted to make your own dinner. The only thing I would improve is the lighting in the rooms.  It was very dark if you didn't open the curtains. At night it was hard to see in the room.  The free breakfast was a plus, and it was more than just cereal. They have a waffle machine and nice room to eat in.

Pleasant Surprise

We stayed 4 night, but planned on 6 nights we ended up getting a little too much sun. Tent camping, our site had a tree for shade that was helpful (not all tent sites had a shade tree or fire-ring), along with picnic table and fire-ring ! We had a full moon part of our stay but there are some lights in the RV/Cabin/Tenting area. We had water near by and washed and used both porta-potties and Shower/Bathroom facilitys. Kids loved playing on the stage and watching the Prarie Dogs (pretty funny). Food at Cafe/Bar was tasty and atmosphere was friendly all the way around. Hot spring pools were great, indoor pool was really nice in the morning and outdoor pool was comforable all day.
I would suggest going camping ready for worse case senerio, there are postings of local wildlife. Prepare for the worst and enjoy the outdoors. We had bear spray etc. Ended up seeing Prarie Dogs, Deer, Birds that was it. We kept our food in the trunk and made sure camp was free of trash and food scraps before bed (no food snacks or drinks in the tent). It rained an hour the morning we left, I asked if we could hang out till the tent was dry completely prior to packing up and leaving. The gal was real nice, so we had no problem !

Memorable camping experience (unplugged from most of todays technology)

What a wonderful weekend! Friendly staff, clean and welcoming accommodations and wonderfully relaxing hot springs. Enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and would definitely go again! It was worth the drive and I would recommend to friends.

Great Escape!

Met some friends here for a day trip..stayed 3 nights. Campsites are beautifully tucked in, hot springs was perfect for chilling for drinks, food was amazing a s the staff so efficient. Didn't want to leave!! Girls trip destination for sure. Thank you Lolo hot springs staff you were amazing
