This is a very low quality motel in a less than desirable location. There are no phones in the room. That is not such a big deal though. The pictures on booking.com looked nice and the reviews were pretty favorable. But yikes... the rooms seemed like they were more for renting by the hour... if you know what I mean. The staff was very pleasant. The only thing to eat, you have to walk to which is only a block away. The walk was nice but not an area that I would walk alone or most definitely not at night. The Queen Mary was $5 cheaper and I wish I had stayed there. Live and learn.

Scary

Quaint little place in a quiet neighborhood.  The room was clean and had a mini fridge and a microwave.  The owner/manager/employee...not sure what his title is exactly was kind enough to allow us to check in earlier than my original check in time. He is very dedicated to this property, I noticed him working diligently around the property. There are about 16 rooms in this motel and no upstairs units. Great value for the price.

Quaint Little Place

We booked this motel sight unseen the night before boarding a Princess cruise. We took an Uber from LAX to the motel, which had the look of a 1960’s place. There was thick plexiglass between us and the manager/owner who checked us in. Umm, we wondered. But then we opened our door and saw our immaculate room with a very comfortable bed. The owner came to our door and asked to show us a feature of the room which we didn’t know about. He turned on a blue light and turned the room light off. The ceiling came alive with a hand painted seen of sea gulls and clouds. We left this on all night and slept like babies!

The beauty is hard to see in the photos, but if you are looking at them on a computer you get the idea.

A Wonderful, Economically Priced Motel in Long Beach!

I arrived late and that was not a problem. The very clearn room had been very recently refurbished with granite in bath and more. Big television, sort of remarkable mural on the ceiling, good bed with newer linens. The frig was handy because I need to keep things cool. It's off the main drag, so it was quiet: I would stay here again. You can tell that these people have cared about this renovation. A good deal for the price.

A Nice Surprise

For an independent 1 story motor inn, this is way above average in quality upgrades & remodels.  The bed was firm, the ceiling had a mural, the flooring is Pergo, and even the tile had an interesting pattern to it.  Nice find for a 1 nighter.  
Don't let the residential neighborhood or office/window put you off, this is a nice find.  Plus it's 1 block off the PacCoastHwy & even has a Winchell's donut house on a nearby corner . . .

These folks work hard & the motel's quality is a surprise . . .

Did a good job on the bare essentials for an overnight stay. The was fairly large, everything was clean, the bed was comfortable and we got a good, quiet night's sleep. I am taking off one star for the lack of amenities. It did have a refrigerator and the air conditioner worked well, but there was no microwave, no coffee maker, no facial tissues, and the motel didn't have an ice maker. Since our main concern was a place to crash for the night, I would not hesitate to come back.

Good for a night's sleep

The motel is located in an area that may seem a little quiet (especially if you get there at night), but in reality nothing happens, not far away there is a police station and everything is smooth. It is also close to several highway entrances and freeway and therefore very convenient to move around. The motel is very simple, the owners seem to be Indian and not very practical with technologies such as credit cards, computers, etc... you have to be patient when you check in. The rooms are very spacious and are very clean. For wifi you have to ask the reception to receive a code that is valid for 24 hours.

Simple and clean

We settled in for one night, out of desperation. I didn't expect anything special, but I have to admit that this place looks a lot better than the similar ones in price and level. The motel itself is a one-story P-shaped building with a parking lot in the middle of the yard (in LA without the car it will be tight) and the entrances from the yard to separate rooms. The room is very clean, a large bed, towel, soap. The bathroom is also clean, so it's not scary to swim (as it's usually the case in a place like this).

A great budget spot.

It's a very nice motel, run by a very nice gentleman who welcomed us with great warmth. He wanted to introduce us to the room and explain to us how the cloud ceiling works. Interesting, but it wasn't the reason we chose it. Very comfortable and large bed, excellent cleaning and very spacious bathroom. Free internet. Classic motel breakfast. Great location for anyone planning to tour the Los Angeles Inn area. The neighborhood is not the best, but the tranquility of the manager and the adjacent houses didn't make us as intimidated as you've read. I recommend it to everyone!

It's extraordinary.

You don't have to let the outside scare you away. First of all, it looks like a very, very simple motel in a poor residential area, and it doesn't make such a great impression, it's not a typical tourist motel at all. The reception is then only accessible from the outside, through a glass pane. There's free and fast WLAN, there's no breakfast, and there's no ice cream machine. From the room, we were positively surprised, it was spacious with a king-size bed. The whole room is nice and colourful set up or stripped. Two huge spots are very common in it, one head at the top of the bed, one on the other side of the big screen. The size of the room is also so hard to handle, so there's a very dark room, so there's a very nice room, but there's still a little bit of light on the floor, and it's not really good enough to get a light on the floor.
