Our room was sold as an efficiency, but there were no appliances in the room.  There were no outlets, lamps with no bulbs and the bathroom was barely 5x6 in size.  The bedroom size was barely manageable, but it had a great view!  Expenisive place to stay with no breakfast included.

This is definitely a fishing lodge and has been around a long time. We stayed in an efficiency, opening on to the little beach area with great sunset views . The beds were good. The shower was minimal. The bedside lamp would not work and we found the bulb to be shattered. The young man at the office said he would try to find a replacement and eventually did. The curtain on the sliding glass door was about to fall down. The inside top of the microwave was encrusted with old food. The BBQ food truck was not open. We definitely would not stay here again nor would we recommend it to anyone.

Overall:
I felt very indifferent about this hotel, but I also feel like I was forcing myself to want to love it. 
I understand the website states there have been changes to the property and that more are coming… but update the photos as well. I was under the impression there was a little beach area in front of the room along with 2 huts that had hammocks with them. Nope, there are about 4-5 huts for people to sit and eat their meals from the food truck which was also just alright. So that  also completely blocked our view of the water and we had absolutely NO privacy. There was a corn hole station RIGHT OUTSIDE OF OUR SLIDER DOOR that was occasionally used at later hours in the night and you could just hear everything that was going on. The main reason of this trip was mostly to fish, which we barely got to do due to people who weren’t even staying on the property just going over to sit on the docks and the audience of people we had in order to do so. Some lady also made some snarky remark about us going to fish while she was eating which was rude considering we were actually staying there.

Pros: respectful staff, very comfortable beds. Easy location to the keys.  Beautiful sunsets. 

Cons: water pressure/temperature were not very good. Wifi was also terrible. No privacy. Very loud outside of the rooms etc. slamming doors from what we believed were the public bathrooms for restaurant goers.

They should hire someone else to answer the phones. Receptionist answers as if it is her own personal cell phone. Very unprofessional. Maybe answer with “hi thank you for calling edgewater how May I help you” not just a “hello???” Sounding annoyed she’s working

we stayed here for 4 nights in February. we had a room with the option of cooking light meals. view to the sea. There was a pool and various seating areas around the area. The room and area was a little tired. the view is fantastic. there are many reasons why people choose to listen to music. Can think it is a bit expensive if you look at the standard of the accommodation. But the view is, as I said, fantastic

We were there for 3 nights and experienced nothing but issues the entire time.
1) Family living in the area was kicked off the property and not allowed to visit. Why you ask.. because of their insurance! Hmmmm
2) No water when we checked in. Seriously? At least we had it by nighttime, but⬇️
3) We never had hot water and when we complained they said we could use the bathroom in another room but never offered to move us to that room. Let me tell you the water is very cold! 
4) Construction going on but we were never told.   At least it wasn’t during our entire stay. 

Horrible stay with a beautiful view 

Long Key is an absolutely lovely spot. There are gorgeous views at this no-frills hotel. Our room had two double beds and a kitchenette. It was older, but clean and affordable.  I would definitely recommend this for a family on a budget.

Basic hotel in the keys.

It all started at check-in. My nieces came down from the West Coast of Florida in a car and I came down from the East Coast in Florida we met at Edgewater Lodge. Upon  check-in I was informed that we would have to pay $25 a day extra because they only allowed for one car per efficiency ($75 extra) .  Adjacent to our room  there was construction  going on with a very noisy compactor.  According to one of the construction workers they were working on the plumbing.  It had been a long drive and of course we needed to use restroom… No water! Went out to talk to the guys who are working and they assured us we would have water in about 20 minutes, which we did.  The room was quite warm  and went to turn the fan on and the remote wasn’t working so I meander down to the office to get new batteries… Still didn’t work. Very nice man named Johnny came and fixed the code in the back of the remote so we can get some much-needed air. After we got all settled in we made a cocktail and headed out to the cute little tiki picnic tables to watch sunset.I invited  my son and his wife, who live in Islamorada, down to enjoy sunset and a cocktail. Upon their arrival we were notified by management that we were not allowed to have guest and they would have to leave immediately.I tried to explain that they live locally and they would not be spending the night .  They were  just going visit and watch the sunset   NOT ALLOWED ..THEY WILL HAVE TO LEAVE  THE PROPERTY. The next morning we got up to take a nice shower… And you guessed it…no HOT water for the entire weekend. Of course they apologized but did not offer any type of compensation for our inconvenience.  After  two conversations with the general manager we were able to get a 20% credit. Our  three night weekend turned out to be one big cluster F.  Never again.  My recommendation… Run like hell!

No option for “0” stars

It is an old Florida Keys lodge and yet it is very well maintained. The manager takes pride in his work and everyone working on the property or cleaning were nice. 
It’s perfect for relaxing or as a place to stay as you explore the rest of the Keys. Since I was traveling with my family we needed the two bedroom cabin/lodge and it was great. 
As I said it isn’t new, but it is nice and clean, to  be in south Florida and not see a single roach is plus too 😆 

Clean and comfortable

Love the quietness of Long Key but for me this hotel is a destination.  Efficiency rooms are lovely, comfortable, and offer a complete kitchenette for an extended stay. Sliders open to a gorgeous deck on pilings right in the bay.  Views and sunsets are incredible.  Nice beach, great pool, and plenty of outdoor furniture and hammocks, kayaks. Plenty of piers for fishing and fish watching. My favorite is a walk on the 1.5 mile pedestrian bridge to Conch Key.  Been here 3 times; stay is never long enough.
