This condo was in an amazing location to watch whales.  We stayed in unit 510 and the lanai looked right out over the water.  Within the first hour of being there I saw whales and sea turtles from the lanai.  The condo itself was very comfortable and accommodating.  The air conditioning worked great and we slept well on the comfortable bed. This resort is only a 10 minute walk to Maalaea Village, where we had two delicious dinners and also met our boat for our whale watching tour.  I would definitely stay here again.

Great location to watch whales!

I rented through AirBnB -condo is really cute and comfortable w/very nice view HOWEVER, if traveling/staying with children DO NOT STAY HERE!! Grumpy residents! My kids were just swimming and laughing and we were told we were too loud! We are strict parents and we tried our best to control their volume however at 4pm in the afternoon we got a complaint saying our kids are too loud by laughing and swimming!! There are a lot of elderly retired residents/ snow birds that don’t got nothing to do but complain.  Not sure if those individuals are biased against kids, or locals or just got nothing else to do but complain but heads up… if you have kids and they are not mute, you might want to stay somewhere else.

See our detailed review on theVRBO website. We stayed in unit 210 and overall enjoyed ourselves but the building has quirks and the assigned parking spaces are very narrow. They allow service dogs. Several condos appear to be occupied by long term renters, possibly connected to the recent devastating wildfire, which destroyed all of the town of Lahaina, 15 miles up the road, just prior to our arrival. 

Perfect location but building is showing it’s age

My elderly parents and I stayed in this ground floor two bedroom condo.  It was perfect for us!  It had everything you could think of, including a lovely welcome basket!  Lisa was fantastic to work with and the place is perfectly centrally located.  I highly recommend this wonderful place.

108- Great place to stay~

We stayed at Island Sands 612 and could not be happier.  We booked through My Perfect Stays directly and saved a few hundred dollars in booking fees.  It was my parents (70, 75), Myself and my 13 year old daughter. This condo is exactly as the photos show on the website. It's roomy, clean, decorated beautifully. There was more than enough room for the 4 of us. I would say it could easily have 6 people with plenty of room to spare. 
The kitchen had everything, and I mean EVERYTHING you could possibly need if you are cooking while there. Coffee pot was clean and brewed quickly (super important to us). Tons of counter space in there for prep work or for our mini leftover buffet we had on our last night. 
The AC was on when we arrived and the condo was very cool. Almost chilly. We turned it off the large AC unit that cooled the living area of the condo and the main bedroom and opened the doors for that fantastic island breeze. We did have to use the window unit at night in the second bedroom as it does not get the same breeze but still worked great. We never turned the larger AC unit on the rest of our trip and the window unit was only used at night. 
The bathrooms were both large, clean and comfortable. Plenty of linens! Only thing I would suggest is maybe a mat of some sort for the tub. For the elderly guests, the tub is slick when taking a shower. My Mom put a towel down and that solved it for her but hate to use a towel for that. 
From the time we made the reservation until the time we departed, the process was smooth. Communication was great! Our parking spot was right by the elevators. Property was very clean as well. We did not utilize the pool but it looked clear and inviting. 
We watched the turtles from our balcony everyday.  There were about 8 of them.  A couple of them would even come in and sleep on the beach from time to time.

Condo is only 15 minutes from the airport. It's central on the island so it was easy to go anywhere without it being a long long drive. Except the ones you want to be long like the RTH. I would highly recommend this condo and would definitely stay there again. No question.  More photos can be seen at myperfectstays.com and they are true to what you will see when you arrive.

Island Sands Room 612 -

Rented through Airbnb and were happy with it.  View of the ocean and a lot of whales in March.  The host left a welcome basket of food and the unit had everything for the beach.  Very clean, and when we did have one small issue it was answered quickly.  Great location, central to everything.  Would go back.

Room 214 was great

You cannot beat the location of Maalaea for accessing all of Maui. It's great! You just have to put up with the wind which is most of the time. Our unit was well appointed but tired. The bed needs to be replaced as very noisy and uncomfortable. This unit has many very nice art pieces and lot's of reading material which was nice, but we found it cluttered as we were out of space for our luggage items.  The Lanai was very nice to have and we enjoyed it. Pool was small, very clean and never crowded. You have a reserved numbered parking space which was also nice to have.  Maui Visions and local cleaning contact was very organized and helpful at all times. Overall the unit was a little tired and needed updated items, i.e. cooler zippers were broken, new bed and frame, small beach chairs were very rusty, coffee pot was very old, partial and warming plate rusted, fridge tended to not shut, knifes were dull, etc. The ocean breeze did keep the unit cool and we never ran the AC unit. We found it was  a great launching location for Maui and can recommend it for that.

Unit 401 Vacation

We spent a week here and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish!  Lisa is excellent.  She responds quickly, professionally, and warmly.  She provided great suggestions and genuinely seemed to  wantour stay to be perfect for us.  The condo couldn’t be better!  It was sparkling clean when we arrived.  Well equipped with everything we needed.  The kitchen has everything we could want.  The condo also provided chairs and beach towels - making our trip even nicer!  The view from the lanai is magical.  This was truly a five star experience!

Island Sands Unit 108 is fantastic!

My wife and I enjoyed an absolutely wonderful week in unit 108. The well-appointed 2-bed 2-bath ground floor apartment was exactly what the doctor ordered and I can say that because I am a doctor. 108 was the right prescription for being relieved of the stress of the Great Pandemic. The patio let out to a marvelous and peaceful view of the ocean bordered by beautiful lush landscaping. The apartment had everything we needed to customize our stay to our liking. A short walk barefooted (toes massaged by thick manicured cool grass) from the unit is a mini-beach where we could sunbathe and chill with a school of giant turtles taking shifts on the little beach.  The complex is conveniently located and easy walking distance from great food fare, whale touring, and local main roads.

Just what the doctor ordered!

We were there 1/2020 and viewed many whales from the lanai.  Great ocean views and location.  There’s a small beach with a few turtles in front.  Good swimming beach within walking distance down the street with 5 miles of white sand to walk along (and/or to swim too).  Uncrowded!
