Booked three nights at the motel. Upon arriving we had to hunt down a server in the restaurant to check us in to the motel. Went up the metal stairway to our room which was the first room at the top of the METAL stairway. Did I say this stairway was metal? Clang, clang, clang in our room every time someone went up or down the stairs. The room was painted such a dark, drab blue it was depressing. The carpet was ripped up. The shower/toilet area of the bathroom was so small it was hard to move around. The toilet paper roll was on the wall behind the toilet blocked by the shower curtain. That was always a challenge. The shower head was too low for even me (I'm 5'4"). My 6'2" husband was not pleased. We came back from our first daily excursion to find no housekeeping had happened. Not a huge deal. We came back exhausted after a second day of site-seeing to find still no housekeeping had happened. I really don't want to have to make my own bed when I'm on vacation and we were now out of clean towels. Had to clang my way down the metal stairs to find a server in the restaurant again to ask for clean towels. She got someone I can only assume was the manager and he acted like I was nuts for needing them. He said, "We usually don't refresh when there's an extended stay." Then there was the restaurant. We arrived in town our first night later in the evening. We were tired and hungry. We decided we didn't have the energy to go anywhere but the restaurant in the motel . Some of the worst food we've ever eaten. Ever.

Not a great experience - motel or restaurant

On our way to the UP, my travel partner and I stopped here for lunch. The manager, Kevin welcomed us with the warmth of a true Midwesterner. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He made some stellar recommendations for us to make the most of our quick visit to the island. The food was excellent and fairly priced.  We’ll be back in Michigan to see the fall colors in October and Kevin convinced us to stay at the Inn when we return! See you in October!

Wonderful Little Spot!

First I would like to complement our server.  She was very friendly and did the best she could do.  The Food.  I think this is by far the worst resturant I have been to in a long time.  There were five of us and ordered five different things. 3 of us tried the barbecue.  Pulled pork, ribs and brisket.  Whomever is the chef and thinks this is barbecue is horribly wrong.  The brisket was tough and sliced in a 1" thick round slab that was like  hockey puck.  The pulled pork was like dog food. Others got fish.  The fish was dry, and smelled.  They claimed it was fresh, but after a bit they told us it was frozen.  Our guess is it was thawed and sitting in the fridge for days.  When brought up that the fish was bad, they said no one else complained.  Our guess is that knowing comes back.  There was 3 other tables with people.  We should of known not to eat here.  From the outside we thought it was crowded, but it is cause people going on star ferry park there.  Snacks in a vending machine is better than this place.  So don't go.  If I could give this place zero stars I would.

DO NOT GO.

We took our family group to this restaurant which was conveniently across the street from our hotel.  There were only 3 tables occupied.  A nice young lady asked for our drink order.  Ok.  Next a gentleman asked for our orders. He had some trouble with English. Because they provided a breakfast menu, a couple people ordered pancakes.  10 minutes later a different person came to say that they do not serve breakfast at dinner.  Another 10 minutes later, we realized that they didn't take everyone's order. Our drinks came and they were ok.  Almost an hour later our dinners came. Good thing the kids were patient. The person who ordered late got her salad without dressing. We had to walk into the kitchen to get someone to give us dressing...  The wait staff was trying so hard. It was not their fault. They were waiting, cashiering, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were the cooks as well.  Poorly trained and lacking enough English skills to take care of the problems. 

Worst restaurant service ever

Cold food, slow service, no one speak english, dirty and expensive for all that.  Ran out of numerous menu items. Do not go here, walk five minutes and there are much better options. I should have listend to the reviews!!!
