I LOVED my stay at the Toll Road Inn in Manchester, VT. The motel is a perfect blending of fresh and new while maintaining its amazing 1960's vibes. I loved seeing the original 1965 plans and renderings hanging on the walls and the retention of the original built-in features. Mixed in with the original was fresh carpeting, wallpaper, and bedding.  I really enjoyed my stay.

Authentic Midcentury made fresh

Great value, with nicer amenities than hotels at twice the price.  the rooms were clean, spacious, and the bedding was superb.  big pool for the kids and hot tub for old folks like me.  Close to great restaurants.  The owner was friendly and quick to answer questions.

Warm, welcoming and super clean. Friendly service and a beautiful setting. I loved that it was just outside of town but had restaurants nearby. Great common room that I’d love to return to during the winter for the 360o fireplace. A great value for the experience and this will become my go-to for Manchester.

Quiet, clean and comfortable. Has soul.

This is a very cute inn that the owners really care about.  It has nice updates while still preserving the Mid-century feel of when the inn was built.  If you want a unique place that isn’t a typical chain hotel you hind everywhere this is it! Great pool and backyard space!

Nice little unique retro inn

I wasn't going to write a review but I thought people should know.  When I checked in I told the owner that I had extreme sensitivity to chemicals and not to clean my room.  One afternoon I could tell by the smell that someone had been in my room and I wiped down all the surfaces so as to not get too sick. That evening there was a note under my door saying he had deep cleaned my carpet and charged me $150.  I told him I instructed him not to clean my room and was being affected by the chemicals.  I told him in over 50 years of travelling no one had ever charged me for cleaning.  I don't know what was on the carpet or why he thought it's not his responsibility to clean a room without charge. I don't know why he didn't apologize and kept insisting  he didn't do anything wrong. I was almost in tears. (I'm a 72 year old widow.) I had to stay because I was with my family (who were staying in different room) even though I felt unsafe.  If you have environmental allergies know that they do not care.  They also have no coffee makers in the room, no bathrobes, no decent toiletries and no do not disturb signs. There is no food on the premises and the refrigerators are very very small. The property is beautiful but unlike the Ipswich Inn where I am now they know nothing about hospitality.  I left the room as I always do - extremely neat with a tip for the cleaning service. There are many lovely inns in Manchester who will make you comfortable, respect your health and your privacy, give you what you expect in an inn.  I recommend you stay in one of those.

Beautiful Property, Terrible Management

This place doesn't look like much from the street side, but get into the room and it's a different story. Large window to outside where there are gardens, Adirondack chairs and a babbling brook. Also a very nice pool. Innkeeper very hospitable and the the bed was super comfortable. Will return.

Don't judge from street side

We just spent three days here and it was very relaxing. The room was spacious, the beds very comfortable, and we didn’t hear another guest. The inn has the quaint feel of it’s mid-century roots, but with modern comforts like crisp linens, a mini fridge, and a well-stocked coffee bar in the lounge. The pool was heated and secluded, and we really enjoyed walking down to the brook. Thankfully the floods spared the inn, and we were able to still enjoy the many fun activities and great restaurants nearby. We look forward to visiting in the winter too!

A great little inn for a quiet stay near Manchester

Quiet inn with beautiful and well maintained backyard and pool! Stayed here for a Dorset VT wedding and got there from Manchester easily. Don’t remember manager’s name but he was helpful and kind, and we didn’t even see any other guests for the 2 days we were there. Great for privacy. 

Look no further for a relaxing stay!

Quaint Manchester Inn

We had a lovely stay at the Toll Road! Late check-in process with the new owner, Mike, was a pleasure, and the property was very cute and well maintained. It looks like they’re making efforts to modernize but keep the classic VT motel feel, which we appreciated. We stayed in room 202, which had 2 full beds for just the 2 of us (late booking), was huge overall and very clean. Beds were comfy. Our room had a small mini fridge and ample room for unpacking our bags. The bathroom had plenty of room and was well maintained as well. Nice view of the brook and woods behind the motel too. 

While we didn’t get to use it, Toll Road also has a hot tub. We did take advantage of the small coffee bar every morning, which is in a very nice lounge on one side of the building. There’s a bar & grill run by a nice family right next door, and a diner across the street all within walking distance. Bromley is 10min down the road, Stratton is about 20min. 

Would definitely stay here again. 

Clean, comfy, and close to everything. 

We stayed there during our family vacation. The Inn is conveniently located, a short drive to many attractions, including the Appalachian/Long Trail, Mount Equinox Skyline Drive, downtown. The room was clean and comfortable,  the kids had a great time at the pool and we enjoyed the hot tub. We will definitely be back for our winter ski trip.
