Wife and I played golf at Manistee national 2 days and wanted a third day so I decided on Riverside by way of TripAdvisor. $94 out the door on Thursday 7/18/24 for 2 double beds room 1 by the pool.
Loved the retro green colors, wished I had swam in the NINE foot deep pool. 
Yes there are some improvements needed but it was fine for one night. 
Negatives - hard beds, wife likes I don’t.
Needs a dark curtain ,parking lot lights bright.
But the girls in the office were super friendly, wife liked the way we were treated after telling them her large husband broke the toilet seat, haha!

Fishermen Beware! If your charter is canceled because of inclement weather the day before you are to fish, this motel will charge you $155+!
They have an unheard of 48 hour cancellation policy! And you are stuck with the cost of one night.

Rip Off

Great location, clean room and comfy mattress. 

Tiny room with little furniture, tiny bath and shower, no hair dryer at all and no electric in bath, no 😔 n room coffee. 

For the price of we paid this was a rip. Dogs are allowed but you add 20 per night for them when there is nothing to damage🐾

A few good points but not worth the high price

We loved this place, we had a room with a patio overlooking the river and it was awesome. It was so quiet here and we got a great nights sleep. They also had a pool that I noticed but didn't even check it out.
 Even came with a nice grill that looked new. 
One of the highlights of being here was just down the steps was a walking trail which seemed like you could go forever down the river to the park or just two blocks to town and restaurants and nice shops. 
We wished we could have stayed longer. The only downside was no coffee in room. The office had it, but nobody came in that morning, since we left at 10am nobody was there so no coffee. We did find it down the road a bit. Probably would have gotten a five star if we had coffee though!

Great place to stay with a great view and walking trails

We were looking for a peaceful getaway for Memorial Day and saw this place.  We rented the multiple bed room for the extra space.  The room was very clean, nice couch, TV, beds were new I believe, full size refrigerator.  They had new grills outside and a picnic table.  We took our chairs outside, sat and read while we watched boats go by.  It was soooo peaceful.  They are still working on renovations on some rooms but ours was modern and very  nice.

Hidden Gem

We stayed in a river front room that was just remodeled and enjoyed it very much. The room was spacious with a good view of the river and boats going by. The room was very clean and has all the amenities. The motel staff are very nice. The location is directly on the river walk which goes all the way to Lake Michigan. There are numerous things to do along the way such as restaurants and bars. The view is absolutely gorgeous. 

We are definitely coming back.

Great Trip to Manistee Mitel and Marina

1) towels are awful, 2) interior and exterior doorknobs are antique, faulty, loose or non-existent, 3) mostly clean (dead spider on the floor), 4) spider webs around the sliding door, 5) bathroom door wouldn't close or lock, but no doorknob anyway, 6) no towel bars, so no where to hang wet towels, 7) internet TV only, 8) poor wimpy pillows, no extra pillows or blankets, 9) old wall mounted sink in 5X5 bathroom, no shelves or room to put anything, 10) visible holes around the window AC, 11) there is no room service by default, 12)  the office was often closed, even for checkout, 13) WAY, WAY overpriced.

Location is very nice, being on the river with a chair is nice, seeing the big boats go by was pretty cool.

$50 room that cost a LOT more

Management went above & beyond !  Room was spotless & comfy !  My husband & I have been coming here for years , close to downtown & the beach .  It never lets us down for a wonderful vacation !  We will be back !

A gem !

Amenities, virtually none.
1. one accessible A/C outlet in room, none in bathroom !
2. Ants in room.
3. Bathroom room door doesn't close and jams, no working lock.
4. No handicap wall bars in bathroom.
5. No coffee pot etc.
6. No chairs or small table.
7. One small window a/c unit, barely kept up an not real hot out.
8. Sliding door did not lock, piece of wood in sill to restrict opening as a lock.
9. Vastly overpriced for unit, #11.
10. No iron or ironing board.
11. No cont. breakfast or any kind of snack.
12. Front door dead bolt broken, only knob lock.
Pluses: Clean, had small fridge. 2 small shampoos in bathroom ! Had boat docking.

Price and room condition

We are so grateful that we were able to book a room here after having to leave another location that ended up with no A/C.  The check in was a breeze and Cassie was so friendly and helpful.  This place truly is a hidden gem.  The beds were comfy, the A/C worked, and the room was spotless! As an added bonus we were allowed to have our 2 dogs with us and each room has a nice sitting area as you step out the sliding patio door.  You are right on the canal, but it is peaceful and relaxing, especially at night as the sun sets.  We hope to make a return visit one day!
