Bed bugs, infested, run down place- avoid!! I should have looked at these reviews before booking.  Musty smell; blinds and bed headboards stained with something, bathtub looked dirty.  Cherry on top was when we turned around the lampshade and saw all the bug spots and a bug crawling.  Checked out early- had to wait forever at the front desk, as no one was there.  They did not refund the 1 night we stayed, only the night we didn’t use.  Avoid this gross hotel at all costs!

Do not stay here! Not safe. Place is housing homeless and the rooms are disgusting. People living there are up all night doing drugs. Very sketchy Place! Asked for a refund and management gave me a hard time about it

This review is about my missing camera. I stayed here on a recent visit to Laguna Seca raceway. I normally camp at the race track but this particular organizer did not allow that. So, my buddy I was traveling with said book a room where he was planning on staying. So, I did, that's a whole other nightmare story where the charged my CC twice but no room. We stayed Sun- Tuesday July 23rd-25th. We checked out Tuesday morning early to get on the road. When I got home that evening, I realized I haven't seen my insta360 camera anywhere and I remember editing video the night before in bed.  I called my travel buddy and he searched his truck to no avail. I then called the place Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Monterey Beachfront-Marina, CA and the young man that answered said no one turned in anything and that the room is clean and already occupied.
So, my friends were joking around asking why I was in bed with my camera like I need new content for my Only Fans LOL. He said your camera ended up in the sheets and died a noble death in the washing machine. I said wait its 100% water proof and it would have survived that. So, I called back in the morning on Wednesday the 26th and spoke to a lady at the front desk. She said "yes we have your camera" and said great how do I get it back I'm in San Diego. She said just send a box and a prepaid label and they will ship it back. I said great. The next day I sent a box with a prepaid label costing around $32.00 and waited. I tracked the box and it said it arrived a day earlier. I called and spoke to the same lady. She said ohh we got your box but we did not open it because we can't find your camera. I said what? it was there a few days ago now it's gone. She said she was waiting for me to call back. If they had opened the box, I included my business card with cell number on it and address. She said the manager will call me back and they will reimburse me. A week went by and no call I called back and spoke to the same lady and she said Ron is the manager and he will call me. Weeks later Still no call. I call and he's at the bank or at lunch? I just want them to do the right thing. I can never get the memories back that I recorded on that race track or the snowboarding videos of my son and I that were on that SD card. But if they send me a new insta360 X3 with a 512 gb memory card that would make things right. I'm still waiting and they have my return box ready.  I will make this a 5-star review if its returned. If not, it stays a 1-star for poor management of this situation.

At check in the young man was pleasant. Three other times I tried to reach the front desk by phone or in person no one was at the desk.  The staff except for the young man and cleaning lady seemed annoyed and grumpy. Not a smile on their faces.

The room was not as advertised- there was no microwave, no coffee maker and no hair dyer (had to pick one up form front desk).  This was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The smoke alarm was wrapped in a plastic bag and the room smelled like smoke. This hotel is supposed to be 100% smoke-free! 

The statement of cleanliness listed on a laminated sheet in the room in laughable. The small fridge had a bag of grapes left from previous guest so obviously was not cleaned. The bath faucet had a half inch black mold ring and tile in bathroom was dirty and black mold in corners.  Shampoo bottle was ripped from wall and just placed on bath tub edge. The floor was dirty and left black marks on bare feet. 

The water vending machine was empty. As stated in other reviews the spa was closed for maintenance. There is no daily house keeping as stated on the website. I had to track down a cleaning lady to get more towels because no one would answer the front desk phone.

There are definitely transients living in the hotel. Rooms had plants in the window and although it's supposed to be "no pets" I saw several dogs and a cat coming in and out of rooms. Old run down trucks in the parking lot with bags of recycle cans. Although it looked like they were trying to touch up the paint on curbs the rest of property is run down with no landscaping, metal sticking out on stairs, irrigation tubes in odd places.

Decent breakfast area. Pancakes looked good. Waffle maker was popular. 

Only ended up staying because we had a clean bed and hot water. Last minute trip so reasonable priced choices were few. If you're looking for a bare bones, basic place with free breakfast and close to the beach this could be it. Bring cleaning wipes, your own pillow and bathroom cleaner. 


Bare bones and dirty

nightmare. filthy. lights dont work.  tv doesnt work. no hot water. cold shower in the morning-? really?? blinds, tabletops, doors, walls, stained and smeared with god knows what. when we checked in, we complained bcuz the reservation said no refund. told no other rooms available- at 8pm, and lots of empty spaces in the parking lot. empty spaces in the parking lot next morning too. when we walked to front office to complain, pot smoke billowing several places. then, we got to wake up to toker and pot smoke right outside our door , smoke was coming in the vent. never again.

absolute nightmare

The rooms were not clean and it looks like people are living in rooms. Hotel management was not supportive when it came to getting a refund. After hours the rooms that appeared to be empty in fact had people living in them and were up all night.

Bad experience

This is a no-frills hotel - no gym, no pool (I think - too cold to swim if there was one), but if you need a quiet place that is close to the ocean and has very limited to no distractions, this is a good place to stay.

Good value for the money

Not clean! Entrance to reception desk was always locked at 8:00 AM. No staff at reception desk to place my concerns. Broken light fixtures. Dead bugs behind in table between beds. Clogged sink! No, do not disturb placard‘s in room. No writing paper or pen in room. Not very professional at front desk.

Marina CA

Brought family here overnight, had two rooms. Breakfast, only few options, very minimal. Rooms unkept, towel and shower curtain hardware falling off walls. Floor felt dirty, no carpet. Pillows comfy but needed thicker blankets. Tv remote messed up. Stuff smeared on walls not sure what that was. Permanent tenants in hotel felt odd. Felt safe only because security guards in parking lot.

The motel is mostly what appears to be some sort of low income halfway house it's filled with trash stripped down vehicles and shady characters. It reeked of marijuana and the front desk clerk was not friendly at all! Screaming in the middle of the night drafts under all the doors and our deadbolt didn't work. Super scary place would never recommend staying here to anyone ever!
