Made an advanced  reservation on Booking.com for the night of 9/29/21. On that day, I called the motel to inform them I would be a late check in at 11:00 PM. The guy on the other end said the motel would be closed at that time and I would ne unable to check in. I told him I already paid for the room and he said to contact Booking.com for a refund. If that is the way these fools treat their guest, then I suggest staying elsewhere.

First time this ever happened

This place was disgusting!  We entered the room and the door and toilet were filthy. We found mouse droppings everywhere, on the bed, counters, table, floor in the bathroom and inside the tub. The note pad on the bedside table was all chewed up.  We talked to the desk clerk who pretended to be all surprised that they have mice.  He wouldn’t return our payment

Yuk!!

What else can I say other than stay away! The front desk was uncaring and cold and I will never patronize this place again. It is under new owners and is bulldozer fodder. Rude, pushy, dirty and revolting are the best adjectives I can use.

If you like cockroaches and bed bugs have fun!

The condition of the rooms were very bad and outdated. Bed sheets, linens were dirty. 
Toilet was horrible. The floor(carpet and tile) was sticky. The WiFi was very bad.
Could not stay a single night and had to find a different hotel. Overall a horrible experience for two hours.

Only thing that could have made it worse was bed bugs

The Heritage Inn is a rather inviting site off of a lengthy stretch of freeway heading from Indy into Fort Wayne. There isn’t much in the immediate area except for another motel that used to be a Motel 6 but is now a “Markle 6”. There is a gas station across the street, and two restaurants next door.

If you or someone in your company has talents or traits that delve into the paranormal, this might not be the area for you. A major cemetery lies directly across the street. Just a note.

The check-in was incredibly easy and delightful. I was immediately met by a lady at the counter that was as polite and gentle as she could possibly be, and was eager to help me get settled in.

The room is possibly what you would expect from an independent hotel making their mark on the area. Nothing immensely special, but also nothing left out. It is perfect for a workcation, passing through, or a night away.

Heritage Inn has a cable TV setup with minimal channels on a flat screen TV that is wall mounted high enough that children cannot get to it. We experienced good reception and a clear picture.

The wifi is free and comes with the price of the room. There is no access screen, it is open access. The speeds ran at ~70%, but dropped out on at least 4 occasions, rather slow for anything such as streaming, but certainly not the worst I have experienced as of late.

The bed was comfortable and firm, as this appears to be a rather recently instituted hotel, or they have been a gem in hiding for some time. We know that it was previously an Econo Lodge.

Amenities are the typical mini fridge and 750W microwave but to our disdain, our coffee maker did not operate even when plugged into multiple outlets.

As we were uncertain what stores would have been relatively close by, we ate at Vinatelli's which is located next door, co-joined with a Dairy Queen that we did not visit due to the poor reviews.

There is a cemetery across the street, as I stated before and while this would not normally be an issue to myself typically, there was one in our party with certain sensitivities, and within an hour the fire alarm went off, but only in our room, and didn’t register up front. I stood with the front desk as she tried to turn it off, but there was nothing registering to turn off. Next, the door locks reset themselves and we had to get new magnetic cards. The remote worked for about five minutes, then we had to get new remote batteries.

The desk chair back was broken and the door lock on top was broken off completely as if the room had literally been broken into. Those had nothing to do with the above-mentioned things, they were pre-existing. So do a safety check on your room when you enter.

The morning crew is NOT the afternoon lady we met before. They did not have the cordial attitude and appeared to certainly not be morning people. Grumpy is probably how I would describe them.

A gas station with a Subway is also directly across the street and is probably open until about 11 PM if I had to guess. I was not out late, so I do not know if they are 24 hours or not. If there was a 24-hour service on the exit, that would be it.

Heritage Inn is a good stop for travellers and anyone that needs a place to just be quiet and room-bound for a while. It is an oasis on a long stretch of highway.

Nice stay on a long drive

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst traveling north on I-69 for Xmas.
The room we had (106) was large, clean and comfortable.
The TV was a bit old but still serviceable.
Lots of hot water in the bathroom.
Ice & Cold Drinks right outside our door.
Breakfast had warm biscuits and sausage gravy plus warm french toast sticks with syrup. Also cold and hot cereal, juices, coffee, danishes and bagels with butter, jam and cream cheese.
Pleasant staff and all for $ 45 US if you book through Trivago.
Easy-off, easy-on for the Interstate.
Well worth a stay.

Inexpensive Hotel with Great Rooms

We spent 5 days here. We were suppose to stay 2 days but the hotel was priced so right, very convenient and Rosie and staff as pleasant and helpful as you can ask for. Room was clean, breakfast just fine, would stay again. The 3 star rating is for the level if the hotel. Certainly not a Hyatt but 4 star for what they offer.

Funeral 

We wet to a concert at the Coliseum and wanted an inexpensive hotel. This was right off I69 on our way home. Room was clean, towels were a little on the thin and worn side, but we were not paying Marriott prices either. Continental breakfast included biscuits and gravy, french toast sticks, various danish, bagels, cold cereal,and juice. As I am gluten and dairy free, I could only eat the packaged oatmeal. Would be nice to add at least some bananas and apples. We would stay here again.
