This was the grossest place I have ever seen we went in and I was grossed out but thought I'll look at the room. Well no elevators. Four flights oh steps with dirty outdated carpet reeked  like cigarette smoked it is went in room and said nope not happening the bath room had stains the ceiling and carpet had stains went back down to front desk said I want our money back I'm not staying here it's just to gross they only refunded us one night when we had paid for two. I wanted to shower in bleach

Just came to town to stay one night and play golf two days. Not looking for anything extravagant but the front office had nobody present all evening. The place is run down and worn. The front desk area is a wall of 2x4’s and plexiglass that you can’t hear any of the conversation. Credit card machine had issues and card wouldn’t run. To top it all off there was no hot water to take a shower, night of arriving of the stay, after a long day at the golf course sweating,  nor in the morning prior to checkout. 

No hot water, rooms are dated and one bed was broken. No venting in bathroom/room. Most everything felt damp/nasty.

This hotel is worn, tired and broken.  Guests are greeted with a broken roof over the entryway and buckets in the lobby collect water leaking through the roof.  There is no/no elevator in the hotel, so if you are on the 4th floor - get ready to haul all your luggage up the stairs.  The room was broken - cracked window, windows rusted shut (or were nailed shut), holes in the walls, torn wallpaper, non-functioning A/C, pillows were tiny, beat furniture, broken door locks, etc.    Despite the above deficiencies, the room seemed clean.

Bottom line - I should have read the TA reviews and gone elsewhere.   



Worn, Tired and Broken

This hotel USED to be great.  I have stayed here off and on for over 10 years.  It is now run down, the suites are in need of a LOT of work..  Then when booking to pay full price for a suite in which items do not even work.  I just want to shake my head in sadness.

A lot of work needed

First of all, this motel is in serious need of renovation and updating, but the building has "good bones," and when the scheduled renovations are finished, it should be lovely.  The rooms are nice and large, and when my family stayed in Feb '23, we found them to be very clean.  I also have to give a shout-out to the staff.  They were very polite, pleasant and accommodating.  Corine at the front desk was especially helpful.  We look forward to going back again, and hope the motel management keep the rates affordable for families to occupy multiple rooms and enjoy Wisp and the beautiful Deep Creek Lake area.

So much potential

Lots of bad reviews here, but I stay here every year for my trips to WISP for skiing. It's certainly not the Taj Mahal and it is dated, but it's 1/2mi from the ski slopes and you could stay here for the weekend, pay for lift tickets, and get a steak dinner for the cost of the next cheapest place to stay in town for a single night.

For what it is in relation to the price, it's a fair deal. If you're expecting it to be a Hampton Inn then either get over it or maybe this place isn't for you.

Good Enough for Me

I am only wri writing this as a public service announcement. This was absolutely the worst hotel I have ever seen and I have to imagine it will be closed down by the health department very soon. In the hotel lobby there is severe water damage, mildew and multiple buckets on the floor to deal with flooding from what I can only imagine. is a damaged roof. There’s actually nobody to even talk to in this hotel and staff isn’t there past 230 daily. You have to call an outside number and get a code for a lock box to take it to your room. We didn’t even make it that far due to the fact that they were buckets on the floor the elevator was broken there’s a space heater randomly heating a very cold lobby with no staff From what other people report, the rooms aren’t much better. I wouldn’t know because I immediately got a refund and I would strongly discourage people from ever booking with this hotel. Honestly, I have traveled many places and I have never seen anything this bad in my 53 years on this planet. Avoid at all costs!!

Worst hotel, I have ever seen; avoid at all costs!

Absolutely garbage operation and they ripped me off by refusing to honor my cancellation. I had to cancel my trip to Deep Creek due to a family emergency and I was checking in on Saturday. There was no way to cancel my reservation online so my only option was to call to cancel. I called the office Wednesday during their business hours and no one answered the phone. I called again Friday at 11:00am, and again no one answered the phone, so I left a voicemail explaining I wanted to cancel and left my contact information. No reply, but I figured I should call again in the afternoon and confirm they received my voicemail. I call at the end of the day, and ask if they received my notice of cancellation, and they say no, they don't even have any record of me calling. And now it's after the cancellation period so they say they're billing me for the next day. I explain that I can see in my call records that I called them and left a voicemail, and it's timestamped prior to the 3pm cancellation window. They just flatly deny they received my call, so they're billing me. See the attached photo that shows the call was over a minute long. For them to just flatly lie that they saw no call from me, just to rip me off? When I was already cancelling my vacation because of a family emergency? Horrible, horrible, horrible!

Horribly Run Office! Lied to make me pay for a room I cancelled!

For $150 a night and a Comfort Inn one expects something more than a flophouse.
1- Sing at front desk on check in said Ill be back soon. Five guests waiting when we finally called theComfort main number and a real person appeared who was not apologetic for her absence. Anyone could have wandered in and luckily we were the first on line as the check in was sloooow.
1- old spring KMart matrsses that sag and squeeks when you move. 
2-No elevator stairs to all floors
3-No firelight or alarm in second stairwell
4-Stairs warped and feel as if you will crash through any moment
5-Another guest checking out complained that she had no hot water even after 30 6-min of leaving it running.
7-No fridge
8-No functioning ice machines on any floor that we could find
9Tub weird shape such that soap unit jutted into shower area . Large person would not be able to shower
10-Handle fell off of the dresser
11- 2 remotes- one for channel and one for volume
12- Breakfast old buns, coffee and juice
Bottom line...Dont waste your money. Only plus was convenience to dining

Dont do it!!

This has to be  of the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. st night in the room, tried to turn on the bathtub jets and it through a breaker and lost all the bathroom lights, tried to hit the reset on the switch and it didn't work. Than turned the heater on and the heat didn't work. Had to switch rooms and there was no more king size beds so I had to take a room with 2 queen beds. And the room was at the other end of the hotel with no carts available. Parking lot was in terrible condition. We stayed there about 8 years ago when it was a Quality Inn and it was nice. The new owners have let it run down so bad, paint is peeling, rust everywhere. sink was also clogged and took forever to drain. Obviously the new owners don't care about providing a clean place for people to stay. Actually if a building inspector came into the place it would more than likely be shutdown. Its that BAD!!!!!
