I bought a Groupon for this restaurant, because in the past I had enjoyed the view from their outside dining area, and the food was always decent.  Well, this place has really gone downhill faster than a sledder on ice. The salad bar contained lots of canned items including canned mushrooms, beets, and beans.  The pears and fruit cocktail "stung" my husbands tongue, as they had gone bad.  The lettuce was in huge chunks, not broken up.  I ordered the steamers as a meal, and they were loaded with garlic, romano cheese, some horrid sauce, and tons of parsley flake.  I just ate a couple and wish I hadn't eaten any.  My husband ordered the Seafood Pie.  That contained good sized scallops, and shrimp, lots of haddock, and was pretty good.  However, it was swimming in a milky, buttery sauce over an inch deep.  The desserts were the best part of the meal, as they weren't made on the premises. People from the bar went outside on the top floor of the hotel and smoked, letting all the smoke into the restaurant area.  This place is a DIVE!  I would not recommend this place at all, and I always find something good to say.  Oh yeah, the view....it was good.

Don't waste your time or your money!

I ventured out on a beautiful day to drive more than a hour and use a gift certificate I had for the restaurant. After I arrived and ordered from the menu, I was told that the owner would not honor my gift certificate and that the prices were actually higher than what was printed in the menu I selected from right on the desk!!! So my gift certificate was not honored and I was charged more than the published price! Wow! That was terrible! They missed a huge chance to make a good impression! What about offering a courtesy soft drink or appetizer since they would not honor my gift certificate? And it was extremely rude to charge me a higher price if they left the "outdated" menus at the desk for customers to use. Very poor customer relations and lack of consideration to customers! I am extremely disappointed!

Disappointed!!!

This was my first visit to Stripers. I ordered the New England Clam Chowder. When I tasted the chowder it had spoiled. I told the waitress whose response was that other people ate it. My husbands fish was not cooked all the way through. It was also slimy. There were only 3 other patrons in the restaurant. After getting my meal I understand why we had no trouble getting a table at lunchtime. 

Spoiled Food

Ok you have to try this place if you like great seafood and lots of it. I had "The Full Boat" today you will not be able to finish all that they give you. The service is friendly and fast. It is very easy to find. The restaurant is up stairs but they have an elevator.

We are always sure to visit Stripers for our lunch meetings. Their lunch specials are unbeatable. The service is spot on, the portions generous and  everything we have tried has been delicious! The view from our seats at the bar is gorgeous as it overlooks the Merrrimac River. We highly recommend this beautiful spot!

Our go-to lunch place!

Celebrated my husbands birthday here Thursday evening. Had been here for our anniversary recently, and sat by the water. The view was lovely, but the specials we ordered were a little pricey we discovered when we got the bill, and I wasn't impressed with the steak. But we came back again, and the food was excellent this time, and we had a wonderful evening. I have always liked their salad bar and soup. The entrees were outstanding though, service good, and all in all a lovely time.
