I work myself for a hotel back home and I do understand and let a lot of things go because I understand how it can be when remolding dust get everywhere and something’s can’t be helped but mold in refrigerator and coffee pot had mold in it to so bad I had to exchange it and when did I ended up having to take it apart because of the mold in it I am sorry but I will not stay at this place ever again and don’t suggest anyone else’s to until they learn what clean is. I don’t know if they have no housekeepers and if they do they need to fire everyone of them and start over again. I got so tired of going up front to let them know about all the stuff wrong that I just cleaned room myself before we could go to bed the 1st night.  We tried to use the A/C and it hadn’t been cleaned since they opened this place I had to take it off and put into tub to clean the filter and cover for it to even work. They also need to shut down pool do to the fact that the bottom of the pool has big chips out of it I k ow the rules toQuality In. And the room we had wouldn’t pass inspection if I was the owner maybe that’s what needs to happen the owner needs to stay for awhile without telling staff because if they did then maybe it would of been a better stay maybe after the remodel that the crew they hired doing it is messing up horribly and it shows we was in a room that was just remodeled and I would fire them too the owner needs to go to room 126 and take a look I left dirty towels of mold and filth on the bathroom counter just for there FYI it was a shame too because I brought my grandmother who has cancer couldn’t sleep worried she was breathing in mold and other things they said they would change us rooms and never followed up with there promise instead over charges me

Owner needs to stay 

I saw this hotel had an 8/10 rating on another page so I stayed here while on a road trip. I honestly have no idea how they were rated that high. The Desk service was slow. Hotel is run down with dirty glass elevator walls. Has torn wallpaper, carpet coming up, rust in shower. There was also the issue of housekeeping using their key and coming in without knocking while we were dressing. She said the showed us as checked out. The only bonus was free parking and it did have a pool.

Move on down the road: Nasty

Staff are wonderful & Professional. Clean Rooms ... I would definitely come back again & stay. The hotel common areas were clean. Breakfast was superb. Right off of HWY 57 & hwy 45. Just 3 miles from the city center . 

Great stay & staff was wonderful

The staff is amazing & very helpful.. Housekeeping is awesome. The rooms are clean & smell great.. The breakfast is awesome. The dining area is big its very homie... it's peaceful.. pet friendly. On site laundry 

Great Hotel

The Quality in looks recently remodeled. Everything looks new and up to date. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable. 
The pillow situation is a little weird. The pillows look like it is a throw pillow. Took me a day to figure out they are regular, but not very good pillows that are folded in half( easy when it’s a cheap poorly made pillow) with the case folded around it. The hotel was barely inhabited while I was there. When I checked the woman at the front desk was very friendly and polite. But that was the only time I saw someone at the front desk for my entire 2 day stay. They seem to hide in the back. I never saw a housekeeper tho my room was cleaned and only saw the breakfast person walk thru once. Btw breakfast was basic but decent.

On the plus side, the front desk staff seemed friendly and the bed was comfortable.

There was a musty, very off-putting smell throughout the hotel halls and room. There was a spot of what appeared to be dried blood on the bathroom floor and mold in the tub/shower. There was also mold on the temperature control unit. It was loud, despite being near the end of a hall.

Would not stay there again.

No thanks.

Wonderful and friendly staff. Can't stress that one enough. Clean room and daily service if you need. Someone had posted earlier that it looked 'sketchy' from the outside. They really do need to kill back the weeds along the back rooms. And, actually re-pave the lot back there. But overall it is a nice, quiet hotel for a stop. Would highly recommend. But not if you're looking for a good breakfast. But that's me. I'm picky. McDonald's is across the street.

Nice and quiet. Easy off the interstate.

This was our 4th choice hotel in Mattoon. It was a Saturday night in March. The other hotels were all booked. We paid $107 plus taxes. We arrived at night and the signage and hotel property were very dimly lit. It appeared kind of sketchy. There were only a few cars in the parking lot. Our room was actually pretty good compared to  our first impression of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and it all seemed clean. The heater was noisy but we did get a good nights sleep. The breakfast was very minimal and disappointing. All that was offered was  bottled water and apple juice boxes, granola bars, packaged sweet roll and some kind of packaged breakfast sandwich. 

This hotel was fine for a one night stay while on the road.

Fine for one night stay while on a driving trip

We just left the hotel and cannot express how disappointed we are! The hotel was filthy. When we arrived we were advised they had nothing available but suites. The parking lot was empty. We stayed because of the good reviews, but we're so disappointed. Breakfast was promised and it was a croissant. Nothing else. Literally no breakfast. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting! Mold all over the bathroom sink, the floor and tub was so dirty we would not use the shower. When we went to management about our concerns they offered us a $25 refund on a $300 room. He told us "he has managed for 35 years and this was the best of the best" He was rude and arrogant. 😳 DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE WE DID!  The junk pile is a blocked off entrance.

Terrible experience

Super friendly and professional staff took care of our large group the whole weekend. Outdoor pool area was perfect to hang out and enjoy the evenings. Rooms were quiet for a good nights sleep. Kids and family enjoyed the stay.
