Swiss Holiday Hotel in Mt Shasta, CA.     #1 complaint.  I have a support dog for my physical disability.  This hotel insisted on charging us $35.00 for him,(which is against the USA Support animal rights site)..  They still insisted on charging the rate even when I showed them my support animal registration card. The manager was very rude. 
The grounds are nice and  clean.  But that's it!  The room smelled like human and animal fecies, the weather was 104 outside, and with the 1960's A/C in the rooms it actually brought the room down to 85 degrees.  Discustingly hot in the room.   Even my support dog couldn't sleep, as it was so hot.  We paid a price of a Marriotts Hotel stay at this place, but the rooms are just like a Motel 6.
We had to stay there, as all  other motels in Mt Shasta were not available, due to a big Shasta mountain bike ride.
 I do not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Poor service and nasty rooms

We stayed 3 nights here and enjoyed it so much. We had gorgeous views of Mt Shasta out the window from our pillow and we also enjoyed sitting in one of the outside areas and doing our own Happy Hour there each day with amazing views of Mt Shasta. So many motels in this area have no outdoor area....

The room was very well equipped with microwave, coffeepot, and nice frig with freezer section that was nice for ice packs for coolers. And all of this when they also include breakfast every day. A cold buffet of breads, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, etc etc. We didn't do this but they also have picnic tables and BBQ grills for people who want to do their own dinner right there (with a full shared kitchen available).  Bed was very comfy and although the bathroom was small, it had everything needed and a nicely tiled shower.

I would definitely stay there again!  Relaxing, enjoyable, with nice host family...and the best views to enjoy while relaxing over a glass of wine!

A very nice place with amazing views of Mt Shasta and places you can be outside and see it!

Sorry but this place seemed rundown to me.  Very overpriced for a place that seemingly hasn't been renovated since the '70's.  Old bedspreads and one of the tiniest bathrooms I've ever seen, with no place to put any toiletries.  Others have written about what a friendly, family-run place this is, but an unsmiling, unwelcoming clerk was the only person we had contct with. 

Tired and overpriced at $145 per night

This is a family run well cared for facility. It's old but you can tell they take great pride in providing you a great stay. I've stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. Being able to see Mt Shasta from the pool or jacuzzi is an added bonus.

I love this place.

Nice little motel, a little out of the way from downtown Mount Shasta but within 5 min. drive. The room was smaller but still of adequate size. The bed was comfortable. The room had microwave and refig. Parking was right to the room door. There was a small pool and hot tub on the premises.  View of Mt. Shasta from the back window and also from a patio area. There was also a nice yard with picnic benches and grill across the small parking lot. There are also some hammocks in strung in big trees. There are nice trees surrounding the lodge. The lodge is near the I-5 but there is no road noise. In fact it is very quiet. 

Good stay at Swiss Mountain Lodge

We booked a king room for Memorial Day weekend. Upon arrival we were greeted by Dante, the resident hairless pooch. We made use of the small community kitchen for a few meals. The in-room fridge had a large-enough freezer to recharge all our blue ice. The fridge and coffee maker appeared to be new appliances. We made use of the small refreshing pool, hot tub, and lovely hammocks under the pines. Our room was larger than we expected and very clean. Nice tiled shower. Front desk was cheerful and helpful. Lots of breakfast items set up in the small lobby each morning from 7-9. This is an older property, mostly well-maintained.

Nice location, friendly staff

Quaint little stopover hotel that fit exactly what we needed after a long evening’s drive. Room was tiny but comfortable. Walls were thin but other travelers were super quiet once it hit around 10:00. Shower was nice, shower head was perfect for tall folks! Super soft and fluffy towels. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was single serve items, which is nice considering many hotels that offer breakfasts have stopped due to COVID. Friendly staff and super easy check in/check out. Nice grassy area with picnic tables and hammocks for when the weather is warmer. 

Cute and comfortable 

Check in is easy, pay on arrival, you can even pay cash!?! Our room was a touch tiny, but it worked fine. The bathroom tile work is newer. Shower was nice and towels were bigger than the ones I had in best western that we stayed in a day before. You can't judge a book by its cover. The breakfast is in the hotel lobby, mostly cold stuff. but they try to make up for it by giving you a lot of options. 

Retro Comfort.

Been through Mt. Shasta numerous times, but this was the first (of which will be many) opportunities to stay at the Swiss Holiday Lodge.  The owner/managers are fantastic.  The rooms exemplary with flow through window ventilation.  The bed was very comfortable.  Ice machine, pool, hot tub, what more could you ask for.  Oh yes, they even provide breakfast.  Excellent choice, Excellent Accommodations.

Beautiful Views, Excellent Location, and Extremely Nice Accommodations

The Swiss Holiday Lodge is a gem. If you’re looking for a Ritz Carleton, this isn’t gonna do it for you BUT if you’re looking for a great nights sleep, squeaky clean bathrooms and an awesome friendly staff at a super reasonable price this is your place. We stayed cause it’s halfway between the Bay and Portland and it fit our needs perfectly. We are a family with a dog and just needed a comfy place to sleep with a good vibe. Could the rooms be bigger? Sure. But it’s so cute and frankly, cinematic, who cares. For a roadside motel with vintage charm this one knocks it out of the park. The beds - seriously - were surprisingly comfy. We woke up beaming. Will stay again.
