This was a decent place for the price of $70.  The owner was very nice, helpful and a very quick check in. It’s an older motel but rooms were clean, a/c worked good and nice hot showers. A small but OK continental breakfast to start the next day. I would stay again if I ever found myself in Mccook, NE again 

Decent place for the price

The room was clean the TV worked everything was good I would give it three stars. The staff was very helpful and polite. The shower was strong and powerful. Perfect after a long day of driving in the hot sun

Overnight stay

One of those nice small properties where you can park right in front of your room. The young woman in the office was super helpful and friendly, shared her extensive knowledge of the area and pointed me to a great restaurant and the cheapest gas in town. The cold AC was appreciated on this hot summer evening!

Charming older independent hotel

Very clean room,  good coffee and breakfast, great price. Would definitely stay again. Steakhouses nearby, grocery store, gas stations. Friendly people, air conditioning worked great. No problem getting a room last minute.

Good stay

Older motel but clean.  Nice room, good A/C, fridge, micro.  Plenty of ice.  Minimal breakfast - cereal, toast, juice, coffee.  Fruit would have been good.  It was an OK motel for one night, but nothing great.

OK but nothing great.

Upon arrival, the hotel office was closed.  Nobody responded to the “doorbell” or my knocking.  As my cell phone was unable to acquire a signal in the area, I had to appeal to another guest to use their phone to call the number posted.  Mr. Patel, who I assume is both the manager and owner, finally came to the door.  He was very pleasant, and promptly got me checked in.  Because I had been driving for around 14 hours, and it was after 11:00 pm, I immediately attempted to go to sleep.  After entering the room and lying down to sleep, just before turning off the light, I began to notice the significant amount of unknown “fluids” covering the walls and furniture, as well as the very poor condition of the carpet and furniture.  The room was truly disgusting!  However, due to the hour and my exhaustion, I chose to just ignore the conditions and sleep.  There was an unusually strong smell of cleaning chemicals, which initially, made me feel a little better about the filth of the room.  Unfortunately, that smell appears to be related to something which began affecting my skin in an alarming way.  I began itching, and my skin began to burn.  My skin turned red, and I finally got up to splash my skin with water.  It did not help.  I tried returning to bed, but it got worse, and so I attempted to wash the irritated areas with soap and water at the sink.  I returned to bed, and it continued.  Only scratching very hard helped, but, inevitably, only made things worse after the very brief relief.  After a few hours of this, all without sleep, I became unable to manage the skin irritation any longer, and decided I needed to immediately go to the 24 hour Walmart to procure some sort of lotion for my skin.  I though, first, I would at least take a shower.  Unfortunately, when I saw that the bathroom and shower were as disgusting as much of the rest of the room, I couldn’t bring myself to use it.  So, I left, after only being in the room a few hours.

On my way out, I stopped in the office, as I saw Mr. Patel preparing for the morning’s breakfast offering.  I was extremely angry about the experience, and attempted to communicate my issues with him.  To my absolute shock, he responded by smiling, and continually asking, “So, what is the problem?”  I finally gave up, and left in total disgust (with both the room and the proprietor).

Absolutely disgusting hotel with terrible service!!!!!

Decent mid range hotel...we were traveling and passing through but the hotel was nice and clean and comfortable beds and clean rooms. We'll definitely keep this on the list for a place to stay when we get back through this area. Nice quiet place to lay your head and get some good rest.

This is our fourth stay here while working on buying a house. The hotel is older but kept up very well for its age. Many of the hotels in town are twice as much money. The rooms we have had have been very clean the water pressure is nice not a trickle you get most places these days. The reason I think economy inn dose so well is the manager he has been very helpful each time providing me a extra pillow and the last stay making sure we were close to a outlet to plug in our diesel truck on a very cold night.  This is the only place we will ever stay at when in mccook.

Good place to stay

No bells and whistles here but a comfortable nights' stay. Decent bed and good shower. Internet very slow but functional. Fridge and microwave in room was great as some places I've paid more for don't have those. A quiet stay and worth it for sure! Nice check in clerk. 

Good value 

I arrived on Christmas night, was charged with my card after I had already completed the booking on a website through Hotwire. The room key would not even open the door, the telephone did not work in the room, moved to a different room, their was no door latch to keep the cold air out, cable was out, the room key still did not work, refunded my money originally and charged by card again, the manger would not assist the customer, still have not received a telephone call from the manager to discuss the issues. Still have not received the refund of my money after they charged me three times for the same room. No CUSTOMER SERVICE.
