Don't usually make reservations on a road trip, but did on a recent trip to avoid being on the road after dark.  While checking on the usual chains in the area I came upon Relax inn.  
What a lucky find!  Impeccably clean, freshly updated room, with charming helpful staff.  Fast wifi,   full TV channels, a fridge and microwave, small eat on table and chairs for our picnic dinner.
Great linens, super comfortable bed, and a state of the art shower.
All at a price that beats name brand chains by $80-$100! 
Kudos to the owners and staff!

Surprising Gem!

3rd time stay and again it was easy check in. Greeted with a smile. Room was very clean. Nice quiet area and felt very safe. Took several walks there and looked pretty clean .So my 2 night stay was wonderful and yes i will return and do recommend for others to stay here  and the price is good.

Relax Inn is just that a place to relax and feel safe

First off the Owner and his Wife greeted us when we arrived they were very cordial and inviting which I thought was awesome. 
The hotel was very clean and comfortable.  Early in the morning, 0630, the owner was in the lobby with fresh hot coffee and munchies to go with it. The hotel is secure and safe. It's location is conveniently located with access to both I-16 and I-75. If visiting family in McRae or Helena we will be staying in the Relax Inn again. I highly recommend the facility and give it 5 Stars out of 5.

Wedding

This was a safe, clean little motel.  I went by the other reviews posted here & kept my fingers crossed. It was no frills but clean & I felt safe.  We stayed one night & I always like a place with good coffee! There was a fridge & small coffee pot in the room. Bed & pillows were actually quite comfy. In the morning, they had fresh coffee & packaged danishes.

overnight stay

We were in town overnight for a club event, and only needed someplace to lay our heads and get a good shower for the next morning.  The clerk was very helpful, pleasant, welcoming.  The place is owned by a small family, clerk was likely the owner.  The rooms  were very clean, sheets and towels clean, beds comfortable.  This is the best place to stay in McRae.  It is a budget hotel, you get what you pay for.  We will definitely stay there again the next trip into town.

A good night's sleep

My crew and I stayed here for over two weeks, we had five rooms and I heard no complaints from the crew, which is rare!  Very friendly staff, rooms were clean and comfortable.  Everything worked and they gave me a very good rate.  Will definitely stay here again when the next job comes through. I really like the ceramic floors, clean and much better than carpet.  I never saw any insects in the room, which is rare for south Georgia! I spend about 200 nights a year in hotels, and I recommend this one.

Very Nice Folks

There's not many hotel options in this town, but this option is fine.  It seems like they've done some good renovations to what the property previously was.  The family running it was friendly/nice.  The rooms are presented clean.  My particular room (111) had a constant drip at the bathroom faucet.  The fridge and microwave are helpful.  Internet works.  There's some clutter and trash outside on the property that could be tidied up.  The walls are pretty thin; half way into my stay I got a split party who were on either side of me and was generally able to hear what they were talking about most of the time.  To balance this, the AC was very loud.  

This is probably about as good as a 2 star is going to get.
