when we walked in the place smelled of something nasty! The prices were all different. It went from $57 on internet,,the lady said it was $63,,asked her for a Veterans discount,,,she said sure,,for $60 wow great discount for us Veterans,,,all the while she was chewing on something...we walked out, she was totally rude! Wouldn't recommend this place

NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY..:(

We stayed one night. The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was older, but comfortable. The hvac unit was newer, but everything else was in rough shape. 

This hotel has huge potential, but it is badly in need of some investment. The photo online shows a granite countertop in the room - that certainly was not our room.

Clean, but in need of updating

We often travel down to the Southwest, and Meade is often where it gets dark, and we get tired.  My parents actually suggested this place to us.  The main section of the motel was probably built around 1950, and the small section with the office is from the late '50s.  It's a cute little motel, old but in decent shape.  We have always gotten rooms in the older section.  On our most recent stay, we paid about $55 on a Thursday.

  The rooms are spacious enough for us and our luggage, but they aren't huge.  The bathrooms still have the original pink tile with liver-colored trim, the original tub, and a bottle opener mounted on the doorframe.  The water pressure is on the weak side, but the hot water is hot.  The rooms are simply furnished.  Nothing is new, but it isn't ancient either.  Fridge, microwave, and flatscreen are provided.  The wifi is slow, but rural America has terrible internet, and there isn't much the motel can do about it.

  Despite being right on US 54, which has a lot of trucks, we have always had a quiet night's sleep.  The truck stop across the street has a decent restaurant, and crossing 54 on foot is safe.

  One final note for retro fans - be sure to play with the 'Motorist Mileage Meter' in the office.  It will direct you, via US highways, to (mostly) long-gone independent motels all over the US and Canada.

I generally stay at the lowest cost place I can find. One result is that  rooms often have air conditioning that is marginal or inoperative. I got to my room and the AC was off. It was 100 degrees outside and very warm in the room.

I turned on the AC and went out for a sandwich. I was not gone that long, but the room was cooling very nicely. I ended up with a comfortable room that was as cool as I wanted at a reasonable price.

The breakfast is generally never of interest to me. For this location, it was about as minimal as could be still called breakfast.

Check in and out was quick and business-like.

Old but maintained

Very inexpensive. We were traveling from Missouri to Texas and were very tired.  The beds were comfortable and clean. The heater worked well. There was a tv but we don't watch so I don't know if it was in good condition. Would have given 5 stars but grounds not kept very well. Morning coffee a bit weak otherwise nice continental type breakfast. Overall I'd recommend it to people like us who really aren't that picky and just want to rest.

Small and no luxuries. But comfortable!

This is your typical small town motel built in the 50's or 60's. The rooms have been updated some but the bathrooms still have some of their original charm. This is by no means a fancy place, it is a place to spend the night on a long trip. We have family in the area and have been staying there for several years.

Interesting motel that is a step back in time.

Yes its painted cinder block walls and the breakfast is...shall we say, modest, maybe looked a little sketchy even from outside. But the linens were clean, both bed and bath, overall room was clean, fridge and microwave. Bed felt new and slept well. Ample for a comfy overnight stay. 

Dont let outside deceive you. 

Great hotel to stay at. I was here last month and it was great experience. Open place but with great privacy. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great restaurant and grocery store are next door. Must stay place in Meade KS.
