Greeted by a very kind and friendly person at the front desk. The room was basic, but very clean, with a cosy gas fireplace in the corner. Basic toiletries are provided. Towels were not plush, but clean and serviceable, the bed linens were pristine. We hadn't expected much for the price, and were pleasantly surprised.  Decent free WiFi in the rooms, an acceptable TV. Fridge and microwave in room. 
One possible drawback is that the heater is on the other side of room from the bathroom, so it was a bit chilly in there in the middle of the night. No coffee maker.

Clean, cozy, basic

We were caught off guard by the craziness of trying to book during UMich Parents' Weekend. Rooms were outrageously priced, so we took our chances here after reading okay reviews. Nothing could prepare us for the smell of the room. It was an assault to the senses, like someone sprayed Febreze over open sewage. Didn't think it could get worse until we came back the final night and the room reeked of cigarette smoke (we're non-smokers). Sheets were laundered but old and stained - suggest investing in new sets. No housekeeping, which we understand given the pandemic. But they gave us one roll of one-ply toilet paper for the entire time. Bathroom was fine, shower and sink appeared updated, and hot water pressure was good. We paid double what the normal rate is, which was utterly insulting.

To be avoided, no matter how desperate you are for a room

I booked a room in Feb. The day after I booked I was called by an employee and told our room was going to be more than what was on the website. I told them I was no longer interested in the room and received a cancelation email. Yesterday I got my credit card bill in the mail only to find I was charged for the stay that never existed. I was told there was nothing they could do til next week. I am extremely disappointed. I called a second time today only to be told to call back again to get it resloved. Two phones calls, no answers, and I do not have my $ back. Super frustrated.

Absolutley Ridiculous

I don't live in Michigan so I always stay at this place after a fun and naughty night at The Flight Club strip club, which is only five miles down the road.  It's a basic building with steel doors, but inside the rooms are cozy like a living room, complete with brick walls and a fireplace.  The fireplace is propane and will turn on with a simple black dial timer, and doesn't throw off a lot of heat but adds a nice ambience, especially on a cold winter day.  The floors are wood and ceramic tile.  The kind bed is comfy, and the wall heater/cooling unit works well but has a loud fan when it's running.  The Samsung flat screen TV is a little small but there is a good channel selection.  The free WiFi is around 7 Mbps download speed so it's not blazing fast but it's reliable and there shouldn't be any stuttering unless you're watching 4K Netflix.  There is a parking space in front of every door but it can get full on weekends.  The front desk has one of those big plexiglass walls so it feels like a high-security bank or something, and can make talking to the night clerk a frustrating experience.  The motel is very close to the on/off ramps to I-275 so you can quickly get to anywhere in the Detroit area, and the airport is only a few miles away.  Also a good place to stay for Michigan football games.  I didn't notice any shady people walking around at night, and probably because the owners "patrol" the area frequently.  I checked my records and I was paying $40/night here back in 2011 (weekly rate was only $190) and now I pay $80 for a room, so you gotta love inflation, right?

No frills but clean and quiet

I thought this room was a hidden gem until I was accused of stealing a face towel, then the manager started cleaning the room before I had checked out and started price gouging when I wanted to extend my stay. The bed is itchy and uncomfortable the staff is rude and have bad English speaking skills. Avoid this place

Bad customer service and racist manager

Our room was spotless and clean smelling.  Very roomy.  Sheets were very clean and bathroom recently renovated and perfect.  Nice flat panel tv, new fridge, fireplace (we did not use).  Very neat and clean well landscaped!  ALL the rooms clearly marked NO Smoking inside and out which was refreshing.  These people are the ultimate innkeepers

We stopped at 5 other non-franchise  hotels on this street that were disgusting before we found this gem.  VERY AFFORDABLE, and yes a $20 cash deposit which was different but insignificant.

Awesome find

Touring America by motorcycles for our business, my wife and I experience everything from campgrounds to motels, lodges and the occasional treat of a nice hotel. We don't expect much at this price point. So far as that goes, this place was clean, quiet, had OK water pressure/temp and ample room. That said, the check-in counterman was quite rude, and demanded an additional 22.00 cash deposit that wasn't mentioned in the price or description. The room is pleasant enough, except for non-functioning lights and a four poster canopy bed with mirrors that leant a creepy bordello chic to the experience. In what is a very strange policy, there is also no Do Not Disturb policy in this place! No door hangers for such, and we received an adamant denial of a specific request to not disturb the room during our stay. They will even enter while you are in the room or shower. Because travel is our business, I could have even overlooked all that, if there was working WiFi. There's a big difference between connection strength and bandwidth - in this case not enough to even load Maps or smartphone searches. We ended up having to leave a day early and stay elsewhere just to finish our business while in Detroit. I see no reason to return to Fellows Creek Lodge regardless of the price.

At ft room was freezing..but maintenance c ame twice and made it toasty. Room was beautiful..number 1...only down fall take a bath at like five am because the hot water is abundant lol..it's a huge jacuzzi tub. Well worth the money..I extended another night.  

Awesome

Good for a quick couple night trip to Detroit/Ann Arbor area.  Was in town for homecoming at Univ of Mich, all hotels in Ann arbor booked up or substantially over priced ($300+/night).  This place is about a 20 min drive from downtown Ann Arbor.  As a bonus, about 10 mins from airport and if you have family in the city, as i do, better to have somewhere in between.  no frills, but i was only there to sleep and shower.

Convenient, inexpensive

First let me say it was quite but that is it. There were several different types of bugs in my room even small roaches studied entomology so I know bugs but the annoying thing is housekeeping comes in even when you are in the shower they say it's their policy, I say invasion of privacy .
