My wife and I were very pleased with the Executive Inn in Mineral Wells. We stayed here for two nights in August 2020 while stopping over in town before heading down to the Texas hill country on our vacation. First off, I like the location of the motel - just beyond the western edge of town out on US 180, away from the relative hustle and bustle that makes up the eastern end of Mineral Wells. It's quieter and more relaxing out in this area. The front desk attendant was very pleasant upon check-in and seemed genuinely glad that we had chosen his motel. He was also helpful recommending some of the area attractions. The outside of the property was well maintained. There is a nice little enclosed swimming pool area out front that I enjoyed relaxing at just before dark and again just after sunrise. Our room was very  large - larger than most other motels that I've encountered in our travels. Everything was clean and well kept, including the bathroom, tub/shower facilities. The air conditioning worked well keeping the room more than cool during the night (my wife always complains that I freeze her out when we stay at motels). Oh, and the price was right - about $60 per night and that included tax. We will not hesitate to stay here again the next time we are in Minereal Wells. Looking forward to it.

Very pleased

I have stayed at here on two occasions, and have no complaints.  My second time was with my children. The staff were friendly and helpful.  Nice continental breakfast. The facilities are good for the price.  I will stay there again whenever I come to town.

Very Good

I rated this motel a two instead of a one because of the very nice and helpful maintenance man and because we actually did sleep okay.  Lets start from the beginning.

We checked in.  They took our money.. Gave us our card key, and explained how the door knob is broken but if you hold it up just right, it will unlock...  There was no second lock on the inside of the door.. ...  

The room....  Other than the cricket that jumped out of my bed when I checked the sheets upon arrival, the beds were okay.   Actually, not terrible. 

 It was really hot in the room when we arrived, but after about 3 or 4 hours it cooled down okay.  The A/C cranked all night long,.

The walls are painted bright green, but that was okay, because 5 out of 7 light-bulbs didn't work, so we could hardly see the paint.  

The hard wired smoke detector was ripped out of the wall.  Another smoke detector was laying in the bathroom area with no batteries in it.

 The towel rack was ripped out of the wall and missing.  The bathroom door was in pieces.   The coffee maker so gross it was unusable.  Only 2 towels in the room.  We had to use one to throw in the bottom of the tub so we could stand in it to take a shower. 

So we decided to try and watch TV.   But the remote was missing its back and did not work.  I took it to the front desk and the man said he'd call maintenance and send him to walmart for another remote.    Sure enough, after only about 15 minutes, a really nice maintenance man stopped by with a brand new remote control .  He programmed it and we were good to TV wise.  I wonder what would have happened if we'd requested a make ready on the room?  It sure could use it!   This place actually does have potential.  The rooms are very large. 

The ice maker and drink machines don't work.  They have cobwebs in fact.

Another thing that really bothered us..  The pool.  There is obviously an algae problem going on.   That happens with Texas heat, BUT... the gate should be locked if the pool is green.  This gate was not only unlocked, but the latch doesn't latch.... At all. I guess that doesn't really matter though, because someone ran thru the pool fence with their car (obviously). They have the hole in the fence blocked with a shopping cart........  You just can't make this stuff up. 

The breakfast was a honey bun or a banana.  

I wish they'd fix this place up.  It's a real shame that there is no pride in ownership going on here. 

I probably won't be staying in a motel in Mineral Wells again.

Cheapest place in town....

I was wanting to book a nicer room at different hotel...but procrastination got the better of me. But the reviews were decent, and I had to stay somewhere! I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was cheap, but it was pretty decent. Clean, for the most part...there was some dust and a few dead insects in between the bed and the nightstand. :-/ But the bathroom was very clean, and the bedding was clean. I still wouldn't walk around without my flip-flops! Those chairs though...BLECH. I sat on the edge of the most acceptable-looking one to eat my BK salad. They need to be thrown out and replaced, lol!

But overall, it was a good place to crash for one night...I slept great!! A/C unit worked fine, and it was quiet...but it IS out in the boonies. Great water pressure in the shower! And the woman at the front desk when I checked in that night was nice.

Decent, cheap room!

This staff was very pleasant and friendly and the location was very quiet. Great area for running out dog after a very long road trip. The furniture does need cleaning but other than that, we slept great and felt very safe. Thank you for a very pleasant stay. Will stay again should we travel to Texas again.

Very Accommodating at the Right Price

I have been going to this hotel for a couple of years now and have seen some major improvements. The folks upfront have always been nice and helpful as possible.(sometimes my arrival time is late, others it is during the scramble before dusk, when all the reasonable priced rooms are being sought so I am in the middle of a "self interest" rush). At any rate, they have made some general improvements that makes for better sleeping, and as for security, with the one story layout and parking generally close to or right in front of the room I have not ever encountered a problem. As too price, for rooms on the road, outrageous is not a tag that can be placed here, reasonable is the word. So long as things continue as they are I will be staying here when I visit mineral Wells.
